Awesome topic. Malayalam songs have been incorporating harmonic and composed bass lines for some time now. Some seems to be jazz inspired and some, funk and most, have their own original Indian melody note harmonies.
Another song with inspired bass lines is ‘poonkatte poyi chollamo’ by Raghu Kumar
