Sounds amazing get the black nickel over brass snare its unbelievable. DW best built, best sounding drums on the planet.period. I love when people complain about the price of DW and say they’re overrated every other major brand cost more considerably more and do not sound half as good
When I got my DW Collectors, I played them straight with no tuning - sounded amazing. But I changed the stock heads immediately after that. I don't know why, but I wanted to keep those heads "pristine" for some odd reason. Anyhow, your drums sound amazing bro - and you've got some amazing chops. Nice kit!
man, just got my quote for a DW Performance big kit, price as almost double in 10 years.... you got me confused on how good your Design sound, wonder if i should go with the design, since im taking 8-10-12-14-16-18 with the 22 kick drum.
I've had a number of DW Collectors, Performance and Design kits. They all sound excellent in their own right, can't go wrong with any. The reason I went for a Design at the time was due to touring a lot. I wouldn't be that upset if my Design kit got some scratches but I would of been moritifed if I took a Collectors out on the road!

Did you cut a hole on the kick batter head when recording?
Bass Drum O 4" port hole in the resonant head. Don't think a bass drum would work that well with a hole in the batter head ;)
