wow this came at a perfect time. I just started my first week of college marching band and they put me on lead part. they were betting on me being able to play a double G at the end of the performance. I lost my high range of around F to double C and can only play to an E above the staff now. I just implemented some of your tips and I got it back almost instantly. This is huge for me, thank you.
Can we replace all tv commercials with these Trumpet Tips? Thank you Lynn for your heart and dedication. I have always been a fan of your ability and spirit. I wish you all the good things and peace in life. Mad respect.
Lynn IS the best teacher!! Very good advice! Since i play the the RR Xpiece for now 1.5 years i have the Sound, range and endurance i always wanted. All thanks to you, Lynn! I was so desperate that of all the Instruments i play (Multiinstrumentalist)my favorite Instrument sounded so bad so i did everything EXACTLY how you described in the MF Protocol and the Trumpet Tips. I started from scratch. Had nothing more to loose. I need no tounge arching anymore. I use the RR Xpiece as my principal piece. It works for me for all Styles, i‘m still very impressed with the Sound of that piece and i would say it’s about the right size, not to small or so. Never get to touch all my super expensive GR‘ custom models anymore and should it occur sporadically then they go straight back to the box where the other 200 pieces are waiting.. The Xpiece provides a good Sound and i can relax into the Walls of the Cup, that’s all i need. I can’t praise the value of your knowledge enough as also the fantastic Gift to the Trumpet- World which is the RR XPiece!! Thank you Lynn!!! (Ah, thats right: don’t forget the Rim !😉 it really helps)
Thanks for the kind words.... Very happy for your success! Wish all players would pay attention to Maynard's Protocol as you have, instead of following teachers of conventional "wisdom". Ha!
Absolutely. Even the most famous Players tend to spread lots of confusing Informations about what they do. Did Maynard had to reshape the Lips for changing the Register? No. Arturo has to do it, the reason should be clear.. Again, thank you, Lynn!
I used to play on a jet tone for a year and I feel like that this explains why I disliked it so much. Right now I play on a monette Unity mouthpiece and I think it’s probably one of the most effective pieces I’ve ever seen. I get a lot of qualities that the V cup would provide but gives room for some room for chops to protrude. This is a very cool demo!
It’s always great to hear from you. It’s been a while since I was in Vegas. Now living in Central Florida. Not easy to leave NY and start over. Hope all is well.
Lynn what is the best professional trumpet to use because I'm in every band in a high school that has a Trumpeter and I want to get better at my skill which means I'm going to need good equipment and I'm looking for a professional to answer this and I found you
LynnZhorn is the best trumpet ever for commercial work, especially above high G, but of course I'm partial,,, Ha! The last one out of 160 total was sold in Jan 2019... Keep you eyes open for a used one, though. They show up occasionally. Past that, the Bach Commercial trumpets are excellent! Great sound, and much more open than a standard Bach... I prefer the large bore version. Whatever you get, remember this. The player is 90%, the mouthpiece 9% and the horn 1%..... I made several hundred thousand dollars back in the day (when a dollar meant something) on a used Getzen Eterna that I bought for $225.... Learn to buzzz on a Rim as I do here, and you will own the upper register on virtually ANY horn.... ua-cam.com/video/sfbKrlMbarA/v-deo.html

My compression is really weak and I need to do something about that...I do exercises up to A Bb over the staff by compression but it frels like I am overdoing and I need some resistance or something to play up to or against, if you get my point. You make with it like a narrow channel for air to hit the lips faster. Everyones palate, teeth, lips and tongue is different. And you need to experiment what combination works for you. Usually 4 Types of Compression are: 1 Abdominal Compression 2 Tongue Compression 3 Lip Roll-In Compression 4 Jaw Compression (closed vs open) *found this on yt from a guy
Lynn is a REAL teacher. He gets right to the point and then demonstrates it. Many other teachers just seem to like the sound of their own voice. 😀😀😀
Thank you.....
