Candytuft (Iberis Sempervirens)- Pruning After Spring Blooming

Gardening in Western Canada Zone 7.
Pruning was done May 23 to remove spent blooms and maintain size of mound.

Most of the pedals on my candy tuft fell off. Its May 2. I live in Virginia zone 9. I'm cut them back to where it's just green stems. Will they bloom again in summer that you know of?

I prune back hard each year to size control. There is a second round in the summer but the bloom count is really low. My friend does not prune hers and her second round has slight more flowers than mine. In your case, I would not bet on it. Good luck and stay safe.
