It's usually the intellectual or social leaning songs that stay under because those songs, although fantastic, aren't marketable. But we know, so we spread it through a network of friends, mixtapes, radio, DJ's, clubs, UA-cam reviews, etc. It gets around. BTW, You should Check out Cheesy Rat Blues by LL cool J. it's a slept on classic, really good.

Killer Mike is very politically aware, I believe he supported Bernie's campaign, is very pro-union and is big on reinvesting his money in his local community. He occasionally goes off track a little but he's true the roots of hip hop bringing attention to social issues. I'd recommend dead prez - hip hop - not as complex as RTJ but an insane beat and a message of uplifting black communities.
