What I respect the most is that he didn't give up, he saw these issues 30 years ago, no one listened, things just got worse and worse, most of us would lose hope and give up. He's got the emotional intelligence and resiliency we desperately need in the White House!

Treating kids like adults is often the best thing to do for important matters. Every kid remembers the first time they were treated like an equal. Kids aren't stupid, just inexperienced.
I agree. Plus these are far better things to say and ask kids then asking about if they still believe in Santa. These sorts of conversations help kids become better teens and adults rather than crushing their joy.

I just liked Bernie more by watching this. It's a good thing to go into details and explain things to kids because kids are smarter than many adults think they are. They are capable of understanding more abstract ideas. The fact that Bernie treats them seriously just shows how he respects them as equal human beings.

He did actually champion for LGBT rights. What he didn't clearly state was his support for marriage equality. That came in 2008-2009. Any time before that he avoided answering the question with the exception of the early 2000s when he mentioned he supports civil unions but not marriage equality because he still believed marriage was between a man and woman due to his religious beliefs.

This is exactly how I see it. Sanders (and others too) were hip to the problems when they started and kept growing worse and people like Sanders kept sounding the warnings but so many didn't listen or didn't listen strongly enough. I wish I'd latched onto him and others like him a long time ago. I know Kucinich is/was a similar person and I followed him but I don't believe he ever gained the following Sanders did (probably for several reasons). We've let this get ahead of us, and usually for financial self interest over concern for all of us. I predict even if things do start to get better that many will get their halfway decent jobs, live their lives, and let things go again until it gets run into the ground again. The fight shouldn't ever stop though, imho.

The best/worst part is how forceful and unnatural he is with the camera and the mic. Realize that not only did he cruise up on unknown kids on the sidewalk and make creepy talk about trees, he was sporting a whole freaking video rig. By today's standards, he might've wound up talking with cops for inappropriate contact with minors. But that little girl opting out of the lecture at the mall was absolutely freaking side-splitting!
When people refer to Bernie as having had the same values his entire adult life as though this is strange, I suppose someone must tell the world that his adult supporters were working had on the same issues that far back as well. In my case, my progressive values took root in the late 70s when I was a teenager. Albeit, I lived in Vermont then. Doh! In all fairness, most of my friends, who are from all over the states and globe, have been progressive for many decades. Moreover, there were progressives going back to the previous century. We come from a long line of people fighting for human rights and all that those rights entail. It's no wonder Bernie has so much support. At least one of us had to eventually go into national politics in a state that would elect someone of our ilk. Glad Bernie did.
He was born a cranky grandpa who cares so much about our working class. He's a hero. I'm glad his message is finally mainstream.
Albeit Trevor has to throw in a few crude smears to make sure his fat cat bosses don't catch on that this is a cloaked advertisement for Bernie. I look forward to the day when Bernie's in the white house and smearing him is suddenly inconvenient for the corporate crapsacks.

And he's done lots of work to strengthen unions and defend veterans while in Congress. He pulled his state of Vermont up from shambles into one of the wealthiest states in the country with the best education and job stability. Unfortunately for Bernie, he's outnumbered by congressmen who are bought, so it's not like his bills could pass that easily. But since his growing popularity, the people have spoken. He's our people's champ. And due to his growing influence, we see him getting bills passed more frequently. He'll be an even bigger force to reckon with in office #BernTheEstablishment
