- No mods today! A huge new secret was found yesterday on reddit (and relayed to me by Jevmen, thanks again!) and it is ASTONISHING how it was hidden for an entire year!

I don't think this has been mentioned anywhere yet, but the unlock doesn't just turn the slugcat rgb, it does so for cyan lizards as well :D
And apparently also for slugpups
This is how you make a video on the topic of a rainworld secret (cough cough unlike Sorbet Cafe's inv campaign videos).
- The title and thumbnail don't reveal what the secret is or what to do, so nobody will unwillingly get spoiled by looking at their recommendations.
- You can stop watching the video 35 seconds in and still be left with the challenge of figuring out where those spots are.
- If you can't or don't want to figure out where the spot is, you can continue watching.
- And finally what happens is only revealed right at the very end, so there is almost no chance of people accidentally spoiling it for themselves.
i gave this information to lolight the moment this was starting to become more and more public simply out of spite agains sorbet lol, they dont give two shits about spoiling people, they just want something very catchy for the algorythm and want to be the first to do anything
I worry a lot about the community so I try not to overly spoil things while still keeping it interesting, when Jevmen told me about this secret, I made sure to check with them during the entire process (I even asked them what they thought would make for a good thumbnail and if it was or wasn't a good idea to include the result of the secret) and that is why this video turned out how it did. :)
I made sure to thread as carefuly as I could, my only regret is not having the artificer perk unlocked to show how you can do it directly...

Dang. I always love hidden secrets in games that have the most weirdest steps to find. Glad to see rain world had more than a few.
It would also be cool if the easter egg came with a toggle-able feature where it plays a sped up funky music to add to the rave lights

it was added recently. before that, manual was without that page
@@parrottt_player Not true, the easter egg has been there since Downpour's launch, the image was always there in the manual.

I had just found out that you don't need to have the Arti jump to get the Spearmaster one. You can also use the High Agility perk instead, and use a downthrown spear with turn storage to backflip up and implant a spear into the wall, and wall spear until you reach the ledge.
The spearmadter one is pretty simple in vanilla mode with a quick spearcopter maneuver from the squidcada in precipice (you have to grab one anyway for the Waterfront safari unlock)
I would've thought maybe you could also use an up-throw spear near the edge of the ceiling, then jump from that thrown spear, stick one in the wall, stick a few more in the wall, then you're up. Rivulet's... looks impossible without arti jump. But Spearmaster's seems very doable.
@@jeweleitri4111 You are right, it is doable ;) Just managed it in vanilla mode without any perks. The trickiest part is reaching the lowest horizontal spear on the higher wall.

With Spearmaster, you can use the joke rifle perk instead. Just load a pear into it, then point it down and use it to fly up to the spot.
that is EPIC, can't believe it went mostly unknown until just recently! it looks awesome (i should have woken up an hour early to catch the video release, oof)

Taking the dates by the coordinated universal time, the section on the Expedition page was added two days before the Reddit post and a day after the Steam guide.

As usual as easter eggs do. I vividly remember an easter egg in a game so stupidly vague and confusing where it took 16 years for gamers to find it out.
I'm slightly disappointed, thought it would be Enot Expedition Unlock... Ehh, RGB Slugcat is pretty cool though too I suppose!

This feels like the type of easter egg you'd see documented on a PRIMA magazine in the early 2000s. (Or spread by word-of-mouth at the schoolyard in the 90s.)

you know i first saw this being very skeptical about it but decided to give it a try and im very impressed no ones even found this before like normally whole fandoms will find just about all easter eggs in a couple month but good job on who ever found this :D

The riv area would probably be a lot easier if you had riv's speed and jump hight. A squidcada or even a grapple worm (If you use crafting perk, idk if grapple worms can drown or not) might work for riv too.

you cant get neither of those creatures to bitter aerie, idk if grapples can be crafted but squidcada definetlyt not

Yeah that one seems like the only one impossible outside expedition perks. The spearmaster one you can just bring a squidcada from precipice and do a quick spearcopter maneuver
How do you even get to bitter aerie. I looked on the wiki and it says you can’t spawn there, and the gate doesn’t work.
The fact that this secret was hidden under our noses for so long is super cool!

Funny that this was discovered exactly one day after I finally thought i had finished everything (all achievements), was fun to pop back in for a couple hours for a goofy unlock as a “reward”

When I learned about this quest I already had a spearmaster expedition, but I didn't have arti jump turned on, so I used a squidqada. It is possible, but an absolute pain in the ass because they fly you upwards in 0-g, and you have no control over it. So first you need to find it (the precipice is the way in my opinion) and then get it through the moon, waiting basically being able to move only when anti-gravity is off. But the hardest part is neural terminus. Gravity is always off in most of this subregion rooms. even when cycle is over. So you will need to stun it with the rocks and pray to Andrew that they will go where you want them during half a second stun. And also go through memory conflux, you will have problemes in the tunnel, but then you just go up. If you go through the main chamber you will probably just get stuck. And the best advise - just get arti jump, if you use squid way you will hate reflections of the moon after listening to it for an hour. It is not worth it. Sorry for long comment, I just needed to vent, and learn others by example of my stupidity

You know that most of the game developers would've added some kind of cool ability or unlock to rewards the person that found the secret and only rain world devs had balls to just make that hard to reach secret into rainbow cosmetic.
I thought I experienced all that there was to experience in Rain World (besides Enot) This is awesome! Makes me want to do more rainworld and re-experience it in rainbow
6:55 you CAN get there with rivulet speed and backflips. But I needed a precice spear throw and some struggle as well

The one year anniversary for downpour was two days ago, if I had to guess then it's probably not a coincidence that this secret was revealed so close to the one year anniversary. My theory is that one of the devs revealed it under a burner reddit account or told the person about the secret. Still really cool how no one noticed this for a whole year lol
the creator of expedition mode just reposted the image as a hint, but this was already discovered by a few people even before that, it has been in the wiki for a fairly short time but it had nothing to do with any devs prior to that

Wish I could try this out but as far as I know the switch version still has broken expedition perks that never unlock, so any that require perks are nigh impossible :(
I believe the switch version was fixed several months ago, that issue should be resolved.

the spear master one is quite funny, TECHNICALLY is possible to do it by bringing a white squidcada or using "quick crawl turn jump" to gaing enough height without arti's jump, but nah.

Unrelated, but could anyone recommend lizards in spearmaster for the dragonslayer achievement? I already killed blue, cyan, pink, and green lizards (I'm in Industrial Complex, trying to cross to Chimney Canopy)
well, dragonslayer is easy in the hard campaigns because there are a lot of cyans everywhere but you still only need to kill 6, just kill one of each except the red one which its way too tanky and you can still ignore 2 colors
Hey yall, you can safely and easily do the rivulet easter egg by adding saint as a second player and using them to do it!
Do you know if the effect functions as a light source or is it just cosmetic? It looks like it puts out a pretty significant radius of glow, but that doesnt necessarily translate to gameplay...
That's the Neuron Fly glow, it's a choosable perk in Expedition mode, and the colour of the neuron glow has always been the same as the color of your slugcat. So RGB scug = RGB glow.

You see, there's this mechanic in the game that let's you throw and pin spears below and above so that robably helps in spearmaster's case, with rivulet though the only solution i can think of are either grabworms or maybe the gravity core cell thing.
I tried that, but unfortunately it is just out of reach even with a ceiling spear and a ground spear :(
You can totally make it with a grapple worm though, assuming you carry one the entire way! :D

Also I wanted to say that Riv's one could be doable with the cell, but then realised... Bitter Aerie is unlocked by giving up the cell... Yea... That may take more time than I have expected. MUCH more time. Since I pretty much hadn't as much as touched the expedition mode because I had never been good enough to try playing on permadeath with no karma flowers. Oof. I DON'T WANT TO PLAY PERMADEATH

For last - revilet answer is hook worm, and you probably can do spear master with it but i am not shure
hey there is a way to get the riv and spearmaster ones without the perk. you can get a artificer to come with you in coop and have them carry you on their back to get the stuff.
Speaking of the last two with the spearman, could it be like a fly since this one is lighter and jumps very high and with the stream there is no that worm that releases or pulls the net and you swing like spiderman?
Grapple worms would work, assuming you can bring one there :)
Rivulet's can probably be gotten with a graple worm. Spearmaster's can almost certainly be gotten the same way.

Little does the slugcat know, the white lizards, couldn't care less about skin coulour(s). They are simply looking for sustenance

Doing this was extremely fun, also learned how to (seemingly) remove myself from spawning in regions, it’d only be useful for this though, overall it was a very fun experience! I was expecting music as a reward but this is also cool.
