I have an 03 CRV with 291,000 miles that I bought new... I ran Mobil 1 in it since the first oil change... It is and has been an amazing vehicle but I have the third AC compressor in it that needs changing... The only weak spot in the vehicle... I'm not complaining
Something in your AC system is preventing proper oil return to the compressor. Have you ever tried replacing hoses, condenser, TXV, dryer and having the evaporator flushed?
@@patrickwilson4765 For most of the time I owned this car I tried to do as much I was able...but the last 5 years or so I've been having the work done...it has been an amazing car and to this day people are amazed at the condition of a 17 yrs old car with 300k miles on it
remove the compressor from the bottom of the car , take 2 frame bolts out , loosen rear frame bolts , remove front mount pin 17 mm remove 3 rear bottom mount bolts , tilt engine slightly , compressor will come right out ! took me 10 min to pull 10 min to install ! dont listen to this dude ! i been doing this kind of work since 1985 .
I have heard that this is the easiest way. Tilt the engine and take it out the bottom. Wish there was a video of this process. The AC just died on my '02 and I am now faced with having to do this.
I have a 2005 with a failed coil. Do you think it would be possible to unbolt the compressor with lines attached (still charged) and replace the clutch/coil from the RF fender well area? It looks possible from your video but you already had the lines disconnected. Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
i got same problem , you gotta remove the radiator , lose the bracket which hold the ac lines where the low and high ports are , just to be able and move the compressor around.
Thanks for your reply, Edgar!. I have to do a coil replacement on a 2005 CRV 'in-the-field' 2 hours away from my shop. I won't have access to an ac recovery/recharge machine there. The 'book' procedure calls for the compressor to be removed from the vehicle. It's helpful to know that you were successful, and that it's possible, in performing the repair with the lines attached. Thanks~!
Woe woe woe ! Where is the rest of the video ? Is there another couple of videos ? I need to see the final install , charge and run !!! Come on dude ! Really !
I bought a 2003 honda accord euro manual a year ago and ive been battling blackdeath ever since, change compressor more than thrice in 7 months. Eventually, i gave up because d last repair i did on it, i changed d entire ac unit( compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator) d only thing i didn't change was d ac line and ac pressure switch and 2 days later, d compressor locked up again. Since then i gave up, please i need help from anyone who has information on this issue.
Honda CR-V Gen-2 Air-Con Black-Death "FIX IT" WITHOUT REMOVING THE EVAPORATOR! ✅ method is HERE ➡️blow nitro into in via "liquid line" ➡️in order to flush contaminates being black oil & aluminium metal particles to come out➡️ via the "suction line"➡️ see my own comment reply for a bit more
💯all this effort saves a lot of time trying to remove the internal evaporator system. it's a big time saver⏳disclaimer is none of these ideas is advised yet some people claim to have had no issues putting this method to test. in summary what you will need to replace compressor + condensor + expansion valves only noting else Now to clean evaporator out and best you can blow out the evaporator using nitrogen to clear out the black oil & metal shaving contaminants
you do this to be able clear your evaporator of contaminants. more information, this is in order to catch junk that comes out ➡️ from the evaporator now what you will see on your white cloth when the nitro it blowing it out is black oil & metal shavings blowing out the suction line catch these contaminates using white fabric method is keep checking the white cloth for black colour oil and bits of metal particles as you continue to be folding over the white cloth to a fresh clean side of the fabric you do all this to know when the nitro blowing out of the suction line comes out as just clear clean nitro as clean as you are going to get it

What type of air compressor did you use ?
FYI The compressor oil spec should be in FLUID ounces, not weight.
My mistake.
I have a honda crv. Sometimes my AC would work and sometimes it won't.
Any ideas?

I got a 2004 Honda CR-V my compressor not working. I heard many 2002 to 2009 has a recall on the ac compressor
Compressor clutch

if your AC system was not clean your expanding valve will plug up very often.

Take the radiator out 🌞 sunny
I'm in the middle of doing this repair and if I ever have to do it again, the first step will be removing the radiator.
