- The Stereophonics recorded this song cover on the 50th anniversary of the famous twelve hour session at Abbey Road where the Beatles' iconic album "Please Please Me" was produced
Criminally Underrated song played by a criminally underrated band
Underrated band defo, but criminally underrated song? It's massive man 😂.
Kyle Taundry is it fuck
Kyle beat me to this comment. Who underrates this song?
Yep! 100%
Kelly fucking Jones. This guy can sing anything.
Even though this song is 50+ years old it still gets the juices flowing and reminds me of how lucky we are to still have the genius of Paul McCartney walking the Earth.
The greatest Beatles cover I've ever heard in my life!
Amazing. Great song by the Beatles and brilliantly recreated by the Stereophonics.
I can't pay Jones any higher compliment than i feel he one of a very small group of singers who would have actually been brilliant enough to sing for The Beatles. What a voice...
When they did the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper, the Stereophonics had apparently rehearsed the title track, but were down to do the reprise. They learned it, played it, and got a compliment from Geoff Emerick or someone similar. I'm not a fan, but they earned a lot of my respect from that
Beatles are so hard to cover properly. This is an excellent version. 10/10
TS Prism 100 % OK with you
TS Prism very true.. brave move but they nailed it
TS Prism que pedo XD ando escuchando covers de The Beatles y me encuentro con un comentario de Midori (?)
Trim Prism
Probably the worst Beatle cover I've heard, the vocalist misses the whole style of the music
A great Beatles number and yes it was definitely one of Paul's but what we often forget is the interaction between Paul and John when songs were being put together. Paul took his raw song around to John's house and THEY then finished it off. John recommended a few changes to the lyrics and hey presto you have a magnificent finish. Both the guys did write and produce songs completely on their own but an awful lot had elements added by either one to the others songs and we should not forget that occasionally both George and Ringo suggested some lyrical or musical changes without getting credited for it.
I don’t know how I got here, but WOW ! Absolutely amazing job of arguably my favorite tune ever. Thanks for sharing !
This is an awesome version. Kelly really brings it up to another level. Lennon would have liked this.
its just a simple kinda rock n roll song. Well.. its simply amazing
Amazing ♥ 🎸
If I was a musician I would ask Kelly Jones to sing my tunes
To take on a song like this you have to have the confidence to go for it Kelly Jones is a guy who can sing anything and make it sound cool
Brilliant cover.
In this track you can just feel the emi studios vibe, this room is just a great place to record music.
When Kelly Jones says Waaaaaaaaaaaaa
amazing
This is one of the best Beatles covers I've ever heard. Beatles tunes are surprisingly hard to cover....they RARELY sound as good as the original (and usually sound laughably ATROCIOUS). But these boys have nailed it! Well done =)
Buffalo Springthorpe
... and you're fucking deaf. Nailed it, my ass. These guys have no sense of timing or dynamics. It's just a pile of empty flash.
Buffalo Springthorpe it is really strong ! That drummer is jamming.!
Buffalo Springthorpe I agree
yesterday is the most covered song of all time i am told,
Remember this on the radio at work.really good version.
i enjoy these modern versions of 60s classics - i have this curiosity of how the songs from back in the day (50s too) would sound if they were recorded now. and i like what i heard here. was a bit by-the-book (despite slightly uptempo), but quite enjoyable.
Awesome cover
The Stereophonics not afraid to cover the great songs of te past!
Great cover of one of my favorites..thanks guys.
Great cover Kelly Jones and Stereophonics!
stunning cover.
Excellent job. What a great song.
I loved this band already, but I love it more now lol
Great cover, bass and guitars are great.
no one can make it better

Great version and great singer.
Just a simple kind of Rock and Roll Song nice one xx
These guys can do no wrong 😍
Que gran cover !!😍
Outstanding.
Phonics showing their class.
Great drumming Spot on and it is not too fast !!!!!! and what a bass
Great cover!!
Quelle énergie wouha 🤟👍j adore
class cover
A Beatle cover without vocal harmonies is like a vegetable soup without vegetables
You're like vegetable soup without the soup
^^^ you win!
@Hallucination You're a man with a fork in a world of soup
Why another voice, with this fucking vocal? Hahaha, almost like Paul in Beatle, they did not need another singer, besides Paul (LoL). Let the insults begin!
Danny Esse
Agreed, the harmonies (and Paul's vocal delivery) make this song.
Amazing job
The Beatles are the best *-*
What a voice Mr Jones
Brilliant !
This fuckin' rocks!!!!
Excelent, congratulatons!!!!!!
BRAVO!
Damn, that guy can sing!
They rock it
Awesome. To say it was too fast, would be like saying the girl was too pretty. It was right on, especially when the drummer kept really tight eights and was in the pocket throughout the song. He was on fire, btw. Lead guitar was schweeet - only Tele and such a rootsy playing style could have matched the vocalist's raspy voice, wish I could sing like that! Bass player was really laid back, fitting the song. His sound, instrument and touch was well chosen - semi-acoustic bass and a pick - fantastic bass playing. I approve.
Stereophonic are brilliant I saw her standing there
class cover :)
awesome!
Adams solo is amazing !!!
Congratulations, boys! You've got yourself a number 17. :)
just great
Increible! :3
Looooove
Dope!!!!
WOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!
Stereophonics the best band now!
Modern day Beatles in my opinion one of the best songs 🎧🎵🎶
Nice cover.
That's my boys :)
It's slightly faster , but still good , lyrics spot on , guitar accurate , rock it Kelly!
Yeah, upbeat
Really ought to listen as well to the version of Twist & Shout by Beverley Knight from the same Radio TWO Abbey Road sessions
aaa hooooooooooo :D kills it
that fucking bass line - respect freedom of expression
very good
well done
good one
THAT FUCKING BASS LINE! :D
I'm the 700 like! lol
Btw, where's this band now.. love them since I heard them in PS2 :)
They've just released a new album
+1875HIBEESFC great, thanks!
great up beat tempo
Not bad at all! From a lifelong Beatles fan!
It's true, i've been trying to play this song in multiple ways on rhythm guitar over the last 2 years, i never quite sound like John.
How to take a great song......and make it better :)
What earphones did they use???
what model of guitar is using the Lead singer?
A Fender Telecaster, if you're still interested.
My man mr kelly jones.
as close as it gets
Still a thumbs up ....
Thumbs. Up from me
Not as tight as the Beatles. But Kelly's voice is great.
Kasia Sobczyk
Great pipes, Jones. But how about the sticksman? Great drumming.
You can't get better than original versions though can you.
Georgia Bowring1
Not in this case no
A lot of people were saying this was Jensen lol
Great cover...listen to their cover of Gimme Shelter, it's brilliant
Well, she was just seventeen
You know what I mean
And the way she looked
Was way beyond compare
So how could I dance with another
Ooh, when I saw her standing there?
Well, she looked at me
And I, I could see
That before too long
I'd fall in love with her
She wouldn't dance with another
Ooh, when I saw her standing there
Well, my heart went "boom"
When I crossed that room
And I held her hand in mine
Oh we danced through the night
And we held each other tight
And before too long
I fell in love with her
Now I'll never dance with another
Ooh, since I saw her standing there
Well, my heart went, "Boom"
When I crossed that room
And I held her hand in mine
Oh, we danced through the night
And we held each other tight
And before too long
I fell in love with her
Now I'll never dance with another
Oh, since I saw her standing there
Oh, since I saw her standing there
Yeah, well since I saw her standing there
best besides rain
i play bass its a simple rif but quite demanding cos of the tempo.. always thought richard was a mediocre player but his playing here is first class tho using a pick certainly helps
For some reason George never played the correct lead live either. It's really a cool, as well as SIMPLE lead.
Очень интересное исполнение
Don't over analysis it, tap your feet and enjoy
It sounds like Bruce Springsteen version when he sung it live with Paul
Ramone's speed...lol...
A wee to fast. Sorry. Faithful reproduction. I"ve been playing this since it first came out.
buenaaaa
God Save Britrock!
