Putting a bed in your 4x4 on a budget

- A little video showing the bed and draws set up in my 1994 Holden/Isuzu TD Jackeroo/Trooper. This was a low cost set up but works great, has been in the truck for around 4 years and has had lots of use with no problems. Have since covered everything in marine carpet and done a lot of off road mods to the vehicle. Sorry for my crappy filming and the bugs making that horrible background noise. Hope this gives you some good ideas, to build on and improve.

Hey Gibbet...What an awesome cheap camping set up, well done bro! My flatmate has same 4wd and has the near same set up by following your instructions..even the curtains which is brilliant idea (that keeps the sun out at 5am when you wanna have a sleep in till 7am) What he has is a double air matress from the tv (those ones with inbuilt pump self inflating ones on tv channel for $100)... its far more comfortable with more room than another mates 4wd with his set up which has all the fruit! AND..all he has to do now is pull up...move couple things around.. and hes ready for the night.. and he also added a drop down table to the back doors....now hes laughing! Hey...how about more vids with follow up to whats been happening? cheers!
Awesome vid! Very cool set up. I have a 94 LS Trooper over in Florida, U.S. I love it but can't afford to do much to it. But what you did gives me hope. Thanks

+Gibbet Hoskins yeah I'm am thinking of doing the same thing but have the extension piece on hinges to be folded from the draws over on to the seats
How much head room do u have when sleeping?
the roof is too low for a piece to be on hinges, thought of that as well. Also it is good to have the piece slide as you can remove it when you like and also doubles as a table at the rear. Head room is comfortable enough to sit up and read etc my son is 4 and there is enough room for him to play around in there
hi. what size mattress fits in the trooper?
+John R A double fits with about 4" on each side, so to have the exact size you kinda need a custom size matress, the length is pretty much perfect
is that bullet holes in ur truck?
+Alpha smurf Yeah, Australia is a pretty violent place had a bit of an incident with some people out west a while ago. Lucky to get away alive.
+Gibbet Hoskins ;) just kidding they are stickers, just for a joke, have since resprayed the vehicle, so just had them there for a while for fun. Actually noticed a lot of people looking closely at them thinking they were legit when they were there lol
