Hello Paul after looking at the volume of work you put into even packaging , I have a lot of respect for the work you put into your work. Very inspired watching this . Keep going and kudos to you
This is very, very helpful Paul - thanks. I have always enjoyed parting out cars for fun, and shipping larger door panels has always been a huge obstacle. Now that my favorite 80s and 90s BMWs are becoming more rare, clean body panels are getting more valuable. Finding out a method for shipping doors and hoods etc. not only will make part outs more fun, it means recycling more of the car and giving other owners more options when it comes to keeping their old cars on the road. Thanks for the tips, and congratulations on your general success.
And i thought me packing smaller items I sold on ebay in smaller cardboard boxes was complicated!!! 😂 This does not compare to this is extreme whole other level!!

I want to do this get my own garage part out junk and wrecked cars for ebay, Offer Up , facebook market, craigslist. I go to junk yards get small parts and sell on ebay.
Hello Paul, Love your videos and content. Very inspirational. Had a quick question do you sell parts off craigslist, five mile app, or Facebook or any other platform. Or is your sales mostly coming from eBay?
Thank you. Most of my sales are from eBay. I do have a few Facebook sales. I make one listing per vehicle as parting out for parts contact me about what part you are interested in.
Thanks very informative i gat a quote $630 to ship a door. How are you getting this prices? I shipped via greyhound express. I want to find another route but to expensive
How do you packing headlights? Can you make a video about it. Mine was broken during my second selling and shipping through eBay. It was ChitChats shipping company from Canada to US.
This was very helpful. Looks like a lot of work but very well packed. Is there a way to have calculated freight on ebay like priority or first class, or do you have to figure it out yourself then tell the customer the cost?
@@partsthatfit349 awesome. That would be really helpful. I have started increasing the amount of parts I’m listing and sales are coming in. You are a good inspiration
How do I go about getting setup to start shipping freight items like this with Central Transport or YRC Freight? Can you go to their website and fill out a shipping calculator and get a quote like I would on UPS/FedEx, or is there more to it? Just made my first sale of a Jeep hood and I can't figure out how to get it shipped out, I have to get it figured out by Wednesday EOD!
Freight is sometime thing you try and learn. As some companies will overcharge for about everything. And we used all companies as they all have there good sides and beds side depending on terminal and states and the workers at the facility. Definitely will lose money on few frights
Who pays for shipping? Is it figured into the cost of the part? eBay asks for dimensions and weight when I list products. Do you just not fill that part in?
Would this apply to a tailgate? Not sure whether to crate it or just get a big ol box, and not willing to list online until I know how to ship. It's for a Jeep Comanche
Not necessarily but headaches avoiding for sure. We had no damaged freight since we started crating. Used to have 3-4 damages a month and dealing with insurance. Also used parts are not covered by insurance in most cases. So crating saves me money and time.
How do you go about putting freight shipping in the eBay listing? Do you select freight and put in the description that it will be shipped through a carrier? I noticed rates will a lift gate are higher in price so I’ll be taking my freight to the carrier and they have to pick it up.
On item like doors and engines I put a flat rate charge of $200 or $150 for freight. In the description I put that the item must be shipping to a commercial business location with a forklift or loading dock. Once someone buys the item I verify the address is a business. If not I offer them to pick up at the nearest freight location or $80 liftgate fee. you can also leave it as freight and the customer will have to contact you before buying to see how much shipping will be for their location.
Hey Paul I love the content, I just wish you had time to post more. I've probably watched this video 20 times. I've been selling car parts off and on for about 2 years now, and I want to get serious with it for 2022. I seem to be having a problem and I was hoping you would help point me in the right direction. I recently purchased a few trunk lids to list on Ebay but when I tried to get shipping quotes, it was $700-$1000 to ship a 60 lb crate. I got a fedex account which I was told would get me up to a 70% discount but shipping was still $400. how in the world do you ship so cheap? even if I put my items in a box it was still $353. What am I missing?
Shipping to residential is very pricey. If you are working from home drop off your package at the terminal. And customers can pick up at terminals. Resident fee is $75-100 and liftgate fee is additional $75-100
@@partsthatfit349 I know. The quotes I got were terminal to terminal., I don't even want to know what the residential to residential rates would have been
Quick question regarding building the crates. Is there a standard spacing requirement on the space between the 2 "legs" at the bottom for forklift or pallet jack that we must build to?
The spacing is not as important at the height. 2.5 is the minimum height for them to used pallet jacks. If the box is small they can you one of the forks to move it around.
