Washer dryer combo is like a normal thing here in Europe, they go as lower as 400$ for the smaller models :D
Euros?
We're so behind 😂
In my experience they are useless and take hours to dry your clothes. Far better with two dedicated machines
@@dapperdog2719 And I bet they have a lot of maintenance issues.
Could you please share the brand for the lights please… been trying to source this type of lights for ages to replace ones I already have… Thanks guys…👍
I love that Ray and Jay are always down to do whatever 🤙
Well, that’s what employees do lol….they get paid to do whatever is on the schedule for the day.
@@remodz6385 agree. I think the difference is that they always seem to do it with a good attitude. The fact that Eric jumps in and helps dig the hole shows great leadership 🤙
It's nice that they aren't just employees but friends.
@@remodz6385 well its only fine because they have no other projects going on. I hated working on my old bosses house because he'd just leave me there and not say anything
Yeah, they're not happy unless they're working!
I literally laughed out loud when Ray said "I've only taken two breaths since being here." 🤣🤣🤣
Washer dryer combo has been around for like 20 years 😄
Yeah they're common in Europe
Yeah, they are common in big RVs, the few people I’ve talked to say you have to run the dry cycle twice to actually get dry clothes but maybe the newer ones are more efficient.
Washer and dryer combo here in Europe starts from 400 eur. Saves lots of space, the only con is that the work cycle when washing and drying is min 4-5 h. So if you have many kids and need to do laundry often you can do max 2 full machine in a day. With different machines you can wash and dry at the same time.
The problem is that usually the machine doesn't have the same washing and drying capacity. So if you put the full load for washing, you should take out half of the clothes out if you want to dry it in one drying cycle. And then dry the other half later.
Longer than that. My parents had one in their RV in 1994.
Love the fact that the USA are just learning about the washer/dryer. It’s been a thing in the UK for at least 25 yrs. crazy. Loving the fire pit, wish we had the defined seasons you guys have so we could have things like that. 👍🏻
So be very careful with the stones in your fire pit. Some seem to have been in the pond and there could be water in them. If that heats up a stone could crack or explode. Furthermore: if the fire pit has trouble getting a good fire dig a tunnel under the stones so some extra air can get to the fire.
It's probably good that they're doing this now, in the winter. That should give the stones some time to dry out... Although, judging from the scenes at the end of the video, I'd say it's a little late to worry about wet stones.
Good thinking with the air supply. Since there is a slope behind the bushes, they could hide the intake of some galvanized oven exhaust pipe behind the bushes and it would also function as drainage.
true and good idea
I've been camping my whole life and I'm 53 years old and have always used river rocks when available for fire rings and fire breaks and have never had a problem except for a rare cracking of a stone. Can it happen? Sure, but it probably won't.
I've heard lots of people doing tiny house videos say they don't like the washer/dryer appliance because it takes so long.
If you do only 1 load per day they are better. Tiny house people shouldn't have a hoard of dirty laundry to begin with.
Just a quick pro tip for excavator so you don't tear up your grass. Use down pressure with the bucket when you want to turn, lifting the front of the tracks off the ground. That makes it so there is less of the track on the ground, less damage.
Wow. That sure was a very nice project. Although you guys built it as part of a good ole days work. Yall should've had a small BBQ or hangout with J, Ray, and Erica family. I think it would've been real nice. Love it PBB.
Careful using river stones and gravel around a fire pit - some will have absorbed water and can explode by steam pressure when heated with a big fire - ask me how I know!!!
How do you know?
@@SpaceflightSimulator Clearly they're a geologist
How do you know?!?
How do you know
How do you now??
I love seeing the Perkins crew engage in landscaping-related activities; it's something we've never seen them do before.
Yes. I recall them saying a couple of weeks ago, “We don’t do landscaping.” I think they do now!
Lights add a nice touch!
Good one lads. Really enjoyed it.
The fire pit looks amazing, and it does look like something from a resort!
Washer / Dryer combination is pretty common here in Europe. I don't know many people who actually have them though. They take forever and use a LOT more energy.
Yeah the traditional combos take less space and can ventless and/or run from standard voltage outlets, but also come with a lot of downsides. That's why they never caught on in the U.S. But the new ones like in the video are a game changer, they take advantage of improved heat pump tech to do a much better job with much less energy. At least that's what I've heard. Just bought one myself to install this week, will have to report back . . .
I’m surprised you used paint instead of flour to make the circle layout.
🤣🤣🤣 So true
they do it quite often
Those all in 1 washer and dryer machines, have been in use for years in Japan. I remember using them about 5 years ago in Tokyo doing my laundry.
are they any good thou? I'm guessing wash loads would need to be smaller and no more washing my comforter at home ☹
I find it takes AGES to do a wash in them.
What an improvement from the pond - I am sure the firepit will be much more useful for the family. And a great repurposing of the existing materials.
What a transformation! Looks fantastic!
All in one Washer/Dryers have been around for over 20 years. It took 4 hours for one load so it never took off.
Looks great! Love these small projects.
I'm surprised you didn't go for a smokeless firepit. Really like the lighting.
Wtf is a smokeless firepit?
@@StallionFernandohahahahhaha
It is a series of boxes and tubing that you place underneath your firepit. It basically pulls the smoke from your fire and diverts it away from your seating area.
@@StallionFernando
A smokeless fire pit, at least ones I’ve seen, are similar to rocket stoves where they draw the smoke back down into the fire to burn them off. They produce a lot less smoke and excess gasses that way, because most of it gets burned back off.
Hey we have that washer dryer combo, the most neat part imo is that it runs off a 110v outlet.
This build is going to be FIRE....
You got to love Jay, he balance out everyone.
It looks fsntastic ! Wish I was there , I LOVE YOU ALL !!!!
My Grandmother had a combo washer/dryer unit back in the 50's. She got it to replace the Gas powered Maytag......sure took a long time for the world to come up with a new idea!!
That looks great!! Thanks for sharing!
funny seeing washer/dryer combos becoming popular in US after being pretty standard for the past 20-30 years in europe
My opinion as an early adopter of the GE profile ultrafast is that it’s amazing. You have to recalibrate your mind to how the machine works and if you wash towels and clothes together the results can vary. But with some small adjustments to your routine the machine is down right awesome. I’m so happy appliances like this are finally making it to america. 16:39
Only very good painter artists can draw perfect circles, Rembrandt and Micheangelo, so be proud of that one!
The first combo washer dryer unit was introduced in 1953.
We've had these for years in the UK! They have a down side too especially if you have multiple loads to wash.
Love it simple, but effective
Thanks for the low voltage clip on lighting idea ❤
I always enjoy watching these side projects
Great job guys. Love it.
Perfect!! I love fire pits like that!
Great project! Looks fantastic. Enjoy.
A beautiful update on your property!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that spot. I think you stopped her before she could say it needs to be a little bit higher.😁
An all in one washer dryer has been used in Europe for YEARS!
That turned out fantastic, love that you have the little gap in the trees to look out over the hill from the fire pit! Nice!
@PerkinsBuilderBrothers Wow, what a transformation. I love it and you guys killed it.
Jason's envy is well founded; having those items right and ready for reuse was fantastic and the end result is so nice. I'm sure I'll be watching another build soon on another channel...
in New Zealand in the early to mid 1980's a company here created a washer/dryer unit. They were FANTASIC....except, they were prone to leaking after a few years as the rubber seal would get hard from the dryer. But they were easily replaced and in most cases carried on working for years! Nice job on the fire pit too!
Use the boom/bucket to pick up the tracks and rotate to make a turn so you minimize the lawn tear up..
Awesome guys!
Wow that turned out amazing. A place where so many lifelong wonderful memories take place. Enjoyed watching and thanks.
Amazing transformation from the ball magnet to the beautiful fire pit area, great work Perkins crew.
We had all in one washing machine for last 5 years, before that all in one top load model.
What brand and do you like it
it really looks nice Eric, quite a terrific upgrade!
That fire pit is AMAZING! You can add another line to your home building!
🏆🏆🏆
Such a cool episode. Thanks. Really enjoyed it.
This show has everything. And best of all it appears homegrown. No suits from Colgate or Nestle thought this up. This is the workers putting in the work and showing off real skill and real talent, and real fun. God bless this platform.
Guys, they've had those combo washer/dryers in Europe for decades!!!
Looks awesome guy's
Looks beautiful!
GOOD JOB!
That washer dryer is also 120v and ventless and it works amazing in our air bnb
Man that looks incredible! I'm envious! I need to get on mine. All I have at the moment is the pit and a steel ring.
Really nicely done!!
Im sure you did, but ou should double check what kind of stone you used as the basin rocks for the pit. There are lots of rocks that are actually porous and when exposed to heat, can explode from the water inside them expanding into steam. This happens with river rocks alot.
especially since a lot of them were literally sitting in a pond for years
Do you think you should run a pipe out to daylight so it doesn’t fill up with water?
It won't. They removed the pond liner and sloped the ground away from the pit. The ground in the pit should be able to drain anything short of a hurricane. I've never seen standing water in my pit and I don't have any drainage.
Great job Guys.
Way better, nice job guys.
I'm in the UK and I had my first washer dryer when my daughter was a baby.....she's now 33! How have you guys not had washer dryers for all these years?
I lived in Bangkok, Thailand for several years, many years ago. Washer/dryer combinations were there at that time.
nice work gentlemen
In UK washer dryers are readily available. We had one until last month. Tbh we barely used the dryer function. But definitely a space saver.
Looks awesome 👍, good work guys.
The Fire 🔥 Pit, Looks Great 👍🏽
Awesome!!
It's crazy to see the difference between countries where, for example, in Estonia, a washing machine with a dryer has been on sale for years, and LG machines start at 600$.
Either way, the fire pit looks awesome!
What a great place you carved out in your yard!
The construction process is great
Awesome 👍
awesome looking fire pit! wish i could have one like this too!
we've had washer dryers for 30 years + here in the UK, cant believe thats not the case for the USA
Bigger houses.
When was the last time you posted a video demonstrating that you need(!) a dump trailer? Get a 14000# (two 7000-pound axles). Mine is 14 feet long and will happily carry a 10,000-pound excavator or skid-steer. If you go longer, you may have some difficulty getting enough height (steep enough angle) to dump sticky (wet) stuff easily. If you go shorter, your equipment of choice may not fit. If you need five, or less, tons of material at your job site. Just go get it. Need to haul a load to the dump? Handle that stuff only once to load it, maybe even with a machine. The dump-run could then be a one-person affair. Jamie, just part with a few bucks. You'll wonder how you ever functioned without a good dump-trailer. They are a great time/labor/aggravation/money saver.
I love and respect the entire Perkins crew. You guys have skill, talent, integrity and always manage to show us a good time. I'd confidently trust you to build anything. Thanks for taking us along.
Amazing fire pit! A bed of Lava rock in the pit will help
Looks great!
That fire pit area came out fantastic guys.
Nice job as always!
Wow that came out really nice..
Hi guys, washer/dryers have been available in the uk for about 20 years
New Zealand had washer dryer combo machines back in the 90’s. Champion was the brand I had. Great machines.
looks really good
Very nice! Stay warm this weekend! It’s going to be 🥶🥶
It doesn't matter what you build - it's always first class! The fire pit looks terrific!
Nice landscape
Awesome!
So you basically created a new pond ^^ just one where you can sit around on stones 0:)
Awesome project!
Very nicely done gentleman 👍👍👍👍
You chaps are deadly to watch I love yer episodes I look forward to finishing work and going home to sit and watch another one your videos yer just so straight up and honest bout everything ye do I love it
Amazing job guys, chilly evenings sat around that with some marshmallows and hot chocolates will be lovely.
Hahaha, Perkins boys geeking out over a washer-dryer combo that has been around since 1953 😂😅
Your outro video clip says, “To be contined”.
Really appreciate the videos as I usually learn something neat. TIL about not having a header required above a window in a non-load bearing wall.
