Well, Valve can't make anything good when using Vulkan. They just suck at that API. Vulkan's `VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST` can happen for quite a few reasons, but in case of submission to queue (i.e. sending the list of what to do to the gpu) it may happen because the CPU/GPU ran out of memory for some reason, and the GPU can't guarantee that the resources referenced in the queue that were sent are unaffected by that failure. That might be an issue with the drivers, but most likely it's just the valve's spaghetti code - after all, this game runs ridiculously bad on Linux (where it uses Vulkan), since it has some VRAM leaking bug that has been a thing for a year now.
Have you tried reinstalling windows? 💀 Have you tried buying a complete new pc? ☠ Have you tried taking a lot of medicine? 💊 Have you tried praying in a church? 🙏⛪ Have you tried meditating in the mountains? ⛰️
Ive had the same exact hammer2 issues, talked to people on the same exact discord server, downloaded the same exact drivers. Then, youll never guess what happened. I had the same exact issues. Shared pain hurts less
same issues with RTX 3060 12GB, the game eats over 20GB of RAM (i have 32GB while running browser and few other stuff), and probably includes all of my GPU VRAM and then crashes with vulkan error, this was before I even compiling the map.
Solution for me was to disable ALL overclocking. Disabled memory, CPU, and GPU clocks and it fixed itself. Then, when moving my PC from place to place, it ran stable on overclocked hardware, when the only thing I changed was reseating my graphics card.
I knew that this editor looks too good to be true. It is valve after all... BTW They also broke custom sounds on editor. Hammer no longer see new lines added into sound events :)
Is there a way to edit decompiled maps without dealing with worldnodes? Whenever I decompile the maps all the similar entities are merged together and it's extremely annoying.
Im definitely in the minority of people who are having these problems. Most are doing fine, so it's worth checking out the mapping tools for yourself in my opinion:)
What is the discord you showed in the video? I'm thinking about starting mapping for cs (yes, I know...) and it'd be great to talk to and know people to talk to about these stuff
@@gibsson launching CS2 workshop tools will always force vulkan to be enabled, even tried -dx11 command line and it does nothing. however launching cs2 normally would run dx11 by default.
Have you tried opening a ton of cases? This may please Gaben, which may mean he'll let your issues be fixed.
