Pederson is from Grand Prairie, an isolated evangelical community in northern Alberta. I spent a couple of weeks there on a job. It was without a doubt the most depressing and morose group of people I have ever met. My work has taken me to hundreds of towns in Canada and the US, and I get along with almost anybody, but Grand Prairie stands out as the one place I don't ever want to see again. When I looked up Pederson's bio and saw where he was raised, it made perfect sense.

To say that the organization that commits crimes against ordinary people by labeling them as 'fascists', 'naonacis', 'ultra right wing people' and so on = Being a 'fascist'? Worst of all, Antifa really believe they are saviors in a country where being a 'fascist' makes no sense, neither Rockwell nor Pierce were fachos because they knew that fascism can only happen in Europe, because the etymology is from 'fasces'. Unless they are such idiots that they believe that being naci=conservacuck=fascist=other buzzword terms.

The natural expectation is that I will describe some sinister-sounding detail of behavior or snippet of body language or threatening use of language that is the subtle giveaway. Instead, I take people aback by assuring them that the tip-off is none of these things, for none of these things is reliably present. Rather, the best clue is, of all things, the pity play. Sometimes I still find myself feeling bad, considering the possibility that my ex-girlfriend was a sociopath. Especially since she's done very little that was actively malicious against me. And most people paint their ex as a psycho. It was mostly a lack of meaningful contact that's made me suspicious - apathy, or apparently so. But one time I couldn't reach her about something she said she'd help me with, that was really important and time sensitive, I left an angry message on her voicemail and she immediately called me back crying saying that she had to go to the hospital and she was so sure she was going to die. So I gave her some space, didn't call for two weeks, when I finally did and finally got through to her I said "You haven't talked to me in two weeks are you okay." And in the most dead-weight, dryly annoyed tone she goes "Of course I'm fine, why wouldn't I be."

According to his own public massages he did massive damage to himself by getting addicited to prescription medication so that he could continue to do as much self publicity as possible while his wife was going through a cancer scare, ended up in a coma in mysterious eastern european hospital or something similar. After he returned from this he became much more extreme in his views and a lot more unstable in publc. I'm not one to mock people with mental health issues or addictions, but when you make a career out of telling others the literal "RULES FOR LIFE" and then don't follow them yourself and go completely off the rails at that point you should take a step back and assess yourself not double down on the extremism.

Personally, my personal "most brutal animal" moment was when we overturned a nest of mice under a chicken coup. We lifted the coup out to try and find the nuts we'd just seen run under it, and before we really know where happening, mouse mom darts out, leaving her newborn mice... still blind, still hairless, and evidently, personally offensive to the chickens who then pecked those babies to death, two of them pulled one apart tug of war style, those baby mice got ripped to shreds and partially devoured before my brother and I could even set the coup down. The rooster in that pen took momma mouse out as well. These are chickens, not hawks, not raptors of any kind, just chickens. They're vicious with bugs too, chickens will absolutely fight over a big grasshopper or caterpillar, tearing it apart to devour it. Every member of my family got attacked by one or more of them too. I had one make a play for my right eye, still have the scar.

his ENTIRE launchpad from being some random nobody of a professor (who wasn’t even respected or accomplished in his field) at some random university to becoming a huge public figure that anyone ever listened to was in weaponizing the rampant transphobia in the culture during 2016 by blatantly lying and fear-mongering about a bill that simply added gender identity to the list of categories that canada’s long established anti-discrimination laws applied to... he skyrocketed to fame because the right-wing media and their vast bigotry-ridden audience latched onto his BS narrative that he would be THROWN IN PRISON for misgendering a student, and overall that the ‘trans agenda’ was supposedly rising to oppress all the normal people like them, taking advantage of the massive victim complex right wing audiences have towards any progress for disadvantaged minorities...

Not respecting anyone, he ceases to love, and having no love, he gives himself up to passions and coarse pleasures in order to occupy and amuse himself, and in his vices reaches complete beastiality, and it all comes form lying continually to others and himself. A man who lies to himself is often the first to take offense. it sometimes feels very good to take offense, doesn't it? And surely he knows that no one has offended him, and that he himself has invented the offense and told lies just for the beauty of it, that he has exaggerated for the sake of effect, that he has picked up on a word and made a mountain out of a pea--he knows all of that, and still he is the first to take offense, he likes feeling offended, it gives him great pleasure, and thus he reaches the point of real hostility...”

@@deathitself6985 Toxic masculinity is immature masculinity of the dominant western culture such as sexism, misogyny, and rape culture; therefore inferior and detrimental to societal well-being.
A good masculinity is mature masculinity: Patience rather than impulsiveness, humble instead of arrogant, disciplined rather than carefree, civilized instead of barbaric, self-control rather than over-expression.
Self-control is not equivalent to emotion repression.

I've lived in the same city as Jordan for 40 years. I've had many friends who went to the University of Toronto while he was teaching there, and I've spent time on his campus. Im not afraid to admit that at one time I even admired Jordan after using his self authoring program to help manage my undiagnosed BPD. So, I believe that I have shared much of the same life experiences as Jordan, we've walked the same streets, read the same newspapers, watched the same canadian cable networks, etc.
I can assure you, with ABSOLUTE certainty that I have never EVER seen Antifa or anything antifa related up here. It just doesn't exist... period. And if it does... if my eyes and ears have deceived me... it's such a small, insignificant number of people who support this group that no one has ever payed any attention to it.

I thought he was interesting a long time ago, back when he was doing his lectures on psychology and the bible. Peterson is a sophist, which basically means he's good at manipulating the truth to mislead his followers. He used to make some good points, like his take on the Sodom and Gomorrah story being anti-xenophobia instead of anti-homosexuality. However, as he went through this process of being trained by his audience and his funders (right-wing groups give away lots of tickets in exchange for a little say in the messaging), he got more and more political and more and more inconsistent and hypocritical. As he got more pushback, he fuckin cracked under the pressure. I believed that, once upon a time, he honestly wanted to help people, but now it's like he fights this internal battle trying to justify letting himself getting pulled into the alt-right or whatever he's doing...I mean his brain is broken and it shows. I wonder, if you showed 2012 Jordan Peterson all the racist and pro-violence comment sections from his 2022 videos, if he would have went down a different path. Dude is just fuckin lost. It will be interesting and probably sad to see Joe Rogan's descent play out--I wonder how it will compare to JP. Saying he was only accidentally correct lets him off the hook too much, though--it's saying he wasn't really a sophist. What makes him worse than simply a liar is that he used his PhD-level knowledge of psychology to use valid concepts, like personality models which therapists use to help people understand themselves, to deliver his lies. He was good at manipulating the truth, and if he wasn't then I don't think he'd have so many followers.
