He hasn't slept in 25 days. Side note: I once managed to stay up for 3 whole days and things definitely got strange. I was playing Black Ops zombies with the homie and we were at that point having runs that would go for 8 plus hours each (often only ending when we got bored of the map, or to find more players online.) Fan on the console type gameplay. We were perfecting our strategies by exploiting each level to the max, getting better as a team. People would die and then stay in the lobby and watch for hours sometimes, commenting here and there or sometimes asking questions. This was hard science for us. My mom had gotten vendor-size (16-can) cases of full size Monster Java "White Russian" real cheap, which we basically lived on. We had basically a mini-fridge packed with Monster, a huge boon, a true bounty. That and cigarettes. And the odd McChicken run. Copious amounts of high-quality cannabis. Cannot tell you what amounts of these things I consumed, not out of secrecy, but instead out of honesty. It was... enough. So too much. Like, entirely too much. By the end of the final night I was seeing translucent zombies manifesting off in the distance of the overgrown field across from my porch. They'd rapidly come into a starkly more detailed form under the streetlamp, dash, and vanish just as fast. I was hearing all of the different sounds from the game going off in my head, as though the sound was physically in my cranium, not just my mind. Grenade explosions, gunfire, screams and shit. Those damned monkeys. The cartoonishly overacted voiceover lines for the player characters were reverberating endlessly in my braincase. Maddening. It DID make me smoke far less, which I guess was good (glad I quit that years ago.) It's not worth it if I gotta hang out with the zombies just to catch a square mannn. It's bad enough I'm already having auditory war flashbacks. I couldn't with the zombies. I was all discombobulated - it felt like nothing in the world around me made any sense and it left me perturbed, even baseline agitated. At no point did I not know it wasn't real, but it was definitely unsettling. There was a weird static over everything, electrical auras around objects. Everything seemed strange, kind of the opposite of deja vu. I know my surroundings are very familiar, but I literally feel like I'm in another town where everyone is an alien. I couldn't begin to pin down a track of mind. The part of me acting was just doing normal things but I swear I was out to lunch. And even THEN, I did not find myself experiencing ANY aspirations to make weird children's propaganda about postmodernist philosophers generally not known of outside of academic circles. I legitimately thought well into the video that the song playing was some sort of fake commercial prelude into the real song... I thought it was something supposed to be intentionally bad before the real music starts... Peterson managed to underwhelm my bottomless pit of expectations for him.
Yeah! I kept thinking: long intro when does the song start? The right wing needs to stop attempting humour. They are not funny because they're too uptight and take everything personally. Plus they hold grudges over insignificant things for multiple eternities. And I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mr. Peterson needs to come out of the closet and get himself a boyfriend. he'd be much happier.
@@generationofswine-ge5rw It does make you wonder...does the right wing tend to gravitate towards fascism because they're angry about the fact they don't understand how humor works, or is not understanding how humor works simply an inherent part of their ideology?!

Lol, the inside of Jordy's head is like the Megadeth sweating bullets video within this one, like it's some kinda weird inception and he's got Dave mustaine trapped in there
So apparently those Russian doctors who did that bizarre coma treatment on him also diagnosed him with a form of schizophrenia but he rejected their diagnosis. This could explain A LOT of his behavior. Emotional instability, hyper religious thinking, delusions of grandeur etc. His loved ones need to take him out of the public eye. But I think there are a lot of people around him who he's a gravy train for, particularly his daughter who co created this humiliating video. EDIT: apparently it was Canadian doctors who diagnosed him with schizophrenia, his daughter convinced him this was wrong, and directed him towards that sketchy Russian coma treatment that almost killed him. Wild. She is something else.
It was Canadian doctors who diagnosed him with schizophrenia, those Russian doctors just took his money and did whatever Lobsterson asked them to do. He got diagnosed when he tried figuring out what was wrong with him and no doctor in North America would agree to put Jordy in his insane coma treatment (that his daughter, an internet blogger, recommended). The Petersons rejected the diagnosis because his daughter didn't agree with the diagnosis because, according to her medical knowledge, Peterson's symptoms didn't align with her understanding of schizophrenia. The irony is his daughter, with the sheer confidence only a gifter like her has, praises the Russian "doctors" for putting her father in a coma. The same coma that resulted in multiple seizures, brain damage, and Peterson needing to relearn how to walk and talk. Final Note: It can't be stressed enough how stupid Peterson's plan was. The sheer irony in him doing what he did when he presents himself as an authority on neuroscience is truly something. His entire plan to cure him (his illness has changed various times btw) was to sleep through his addiction cravings...only problem is addiction literally rewires your brain meaning he can starve the cravings as long as he want, if he doesn't try to form new habits (rewire those addictive neuronal pathways/address triggers), those cravings will still be there once he wakes up from the coma. This is one of the reasons addiction is incredibly difficult to overcome. If I, who took neurobiology in undergrad and have a surface level understanding of addiction came to this realization, how did the smartest man in the world not realize this?
@@GhostInTheMachine165 oh wow thank you. I didn't know it was Canadian doctors who diagnosed him. His daughter is a peice of work. I absolutely believe he is a schizophrenic. I'm not a medical clinician, but neither is she and I don't have monied incentive to keep him in the public eye like she does.
Actually, it would not make any sense for this public psychologist to speak at a philosophers’ conference. He doesn’t become a philosopher merely by name-dropping Richard Rorty. He isn’t a philosopher.
I think if healthcare was free, many of the JPs of the world wouldn't feel the need to call everything "woke" and would live productive lives. Mental health is important, y'all.
Free healthcare? But that's a)socialism which is bad, b)removing the choice of dying in the street and c)helping those less fortunate and not the rich. Of course free health care for soldiers isn't socialism or something, and in the UK it's half the cost per month than health insurance in the US, but anyway.. What's wrong with you?!!!!!!
I've been saying for years that the reason the republikaren party hates healthcare, aside from the fact that it would have been money that they could turn over to billionaires, they realize that if people had access to mental healthcare, education, and anger management... that's the permanent end of their voter base.
My biggest issue with the right’s critique is that it requires hyperbole 95% of the time. My biggest issues with right wing voters is that they fall for it every time.
They use generalizations, and those are not the same as hyperboles. They work together. Hyperboles exemplifies that a generalization could be evidenced as truth. Especially if a hyperbole exemplifies an actual fact, or motivation of facts. Well is easy to fall for it, if the truth is what is in the flow.
He got his understanding of postmodernism from a book by Stephen Hicks called Explaining Postmodernism. The book misattributes quotes all throughout it and misrepresents the views of nearly all the philosophers it covers. So even within the context of this weird world he thinks we live in where everyone on the left is into Foucault and Derrida, he’s still wrong. He once said he tried to read them himself but couldn’t understand them and concluded that they must simply be trying to confuse their audience.
If you've ever watched his videos where he attempts to be an expert on the subject matter he's discussing (eg. Climate Change or Medicine & Vaccines), his knowledge on the subject is very entry level at best, complete misinformation at its worst.
100% and he only got picked up by the media because his message fit with a POLITICAL message certain ultra wealthy right-wing groups wanted promoted. He's a complete fraud.
Thats why this video is so perplexing on every level, the references go over peoples heads because nobody outside of the field knows who Derrida and Rorty are, but those who do know who they are are equally confused because the critique is so limp. "Richard rorty is truly not helpful" is that really your critique? The song fails on every level apart from i guess maybe tricking his audience because them not understanding it must mean hes smarter than them and not that it's nonsense.
After watching this video, and reading these comments, I am truly, most impressively shocked. Libs really, truly, believe Peterson is going mad? Laughable..
@@NicholasFJBdude, this "music video" thing is disturbing. It has no discernable narrative or message. And this isn't the first extremely bizarre thing he's done publicly. I think what he probably needed was to actually kick his benzos addiction in the same way everyone else has to, through hard work, instead of flying to Russia to do some experimental, illegal attempt at a shortcut that fried his brain. Mr "Clean Your Room" decided to clean his own room with an atomic bomb, and surprise, surprise! There's nothing left now.
It seems like the whole point of Peterson's song is to try and skewer the ideas of postmodern philosophers, but never manages to actually achieve that goal in any way. Instead the lyrics just rapidly name-checks a bunch of postmodernists before assertively declaring some lame variation of "that person sucks". I know that structurally it's actually based on 'Lily the Pink', but given the subject matter, Monty Python's Philosophers Song is still the most relevant comparison. Monty Python's song worked because it was never really about making fun of the ideas of the philosophers mentioned in the lyrics, but more about making fun of those singing the song - who in the original skit were a bunch of beer swilling Australian "philosophy professors" all named Bruce, sitting there wearing stereotypical slouch hats and crocodile hunter style outfits. The gag was that the only thing they really knew about the famous philosophers was that they "probably drank a lot". That's what made it actually funny. This on the other hand is not funny - just cringeworthy and pathetic.
Even with Lily the Pink, you're given characters and their problems, along with how they're solved (sorta) by Lily's medicinal compond. Peterson's version just feels like the world's worst diss track as he lists off the writers he has grievances with.
It’s a very confused video, because the premise is that Peterson (Taco employee) is being radicalised into anltifa by postmodern philosophy, but half of what he’s watching on TV is Perterson’s friends, so it comes across that he’s getting radicalised by Ben Shapiro and the Daily Wire.
You've identified one of the mysteries of this video: what is the meaning of all those cameos by Daily Wire pundits? What do they mean to Peterson's character, the Taco Gulag employee? I now think they are supposed to be visibly mocking the Left. In other words, what Taco guy sees on his screen, is a mix of mainstream media being a Trojan horse for leftism, the pomo villains Foucault and Derrida who provide the intellectual rationale for the new left in power, and the ragtag iconoclasts of the Daily Wire, who are meanwhile mocking the leftist clown-world around them, e.g. by "drinking to those who won't think".

I dunno, I find his music video to be unintentionally insightful. It's a glimpse into the mind of someone that has had a psychotic break with reality fueled by right-wing hysteria. The person is both the consumer and intended audience yet also a subject of derision but that derision is less direct towards them than the bigotry and ridicule of others. Thus, they are not uplifted but put upon and then given an object to vent at. Fueled by paranoia and constant noise, they do not question the propaganda but blast it and accept it. They lash out at their fellow worker whose position is similar to theirs. Not an individual but one and the same with the propagandist they listen to... admittedly, that is an interpretation of my own and in no way reflective of the authors intent. The author has no coherent intent here. They are too lost in the sauce to have a coherent or concise point. They are just a talking head, listening to themselves from another place.
At the end, the Taco Gulag employee of the month (played by Peterson) turns out to be an Antifa. So maaaaybe the point is that pomo philosophy turns you into a nihilistic leftist, whereas if he had watched the Daily Wire and cleaned his bedroom, his hard work might have led somewhere better. But really, there's so much irony and in-joke in the video, that I could still be missing a big part of what it's about.
I think the cohost made the most concise point on it "when someone is so lost in their delusions they cannot comprehend their fixations are not the fixations of others" Peterson is mumbling through the writings of long dead and long forgotten individuals and thinking that hes engaging a current and pertinent ideological threat, totally incapable of comprehending that even his most dedicated of followers will have no idea what hes talking about

It's a really weird video he made. Also the reason they keep cutting back to Peterson is to save time/money on the animations. Based on how often they cut back his character and dropped in other clips, they didn't want to spend a lot putting this together.

Same!
@@generationofswine-ge5rw It does make you wonder...does the right wing tend to gravitate towards fascism because they're angry about the fact they don't understand how humor works, or is not understanding how humor works simply an inherent part of their ideology?!

Crying over manbaby problems.
It'll get far far more worse with age and time. They'll have no other choice but to pull him from the public eye. Mark my words.
@@GhostInTheMachine165 oh wow thank you. I didn't know it was Canadian doctors who diagnosed him. His daughter is a peice of work. I absolutely believe he is a schizophrenic.

That’s you *biggest* issue with them?? Or is that hyperbole? :)
There's no bigger fool than a right wing voter.
Well, that's not true.
He just can't bare being middle brow.

Thats why this video is so perplexing on every level, the references go over peoples heads because nobody outside of the field knows who Derrida and Rorty are, but those who do know who they are are equally confused because the critique is so limp. The song fails on every level apart from i guess maybe tricking his audience because them not understanding it must mean hes smarter than them and not that it's nonsense.

Peterson's version just feels like the world's worst diss track as he lists off the writers he has grievances with.
thanks for explaining
It’s a very confused video, because the premise is that Peterson (Taco employee) is being radicalised into anltifa by postmodern philosophy, but half of what he’s watching on TV is Perterson’s friends, so it comes across that he’s getting radicalised by Ben Shapiro and the Daily Wire.
You've identified one of the mysteries of this video: what is the meaning of all those cameos by Daily Wire pundits? What do they mean to Peterson's character, the Taco Gulag employee?
I now think they are supposed to be visibly mocking the Left. In other words, what Taco guy sees on his screen, is a mix of mainstream media being a Trojan horse for leftism, the pomo villains Foucault and Derrida who provide the intellectual rationale for the new left in power, and the ragtag iconoclasts of the Daily Wire, who are meanwhile mocking the leftist clown-world around them, e.g. by "drinking to those who won't think".
yeah, i thought i understood the guy's work, and i understood nothing of his song. yet i m pretty sure a song is supposed to be easier to understand than entire books. this looks and feels psychotic, in a scary, disturbing way. Whatever that is, that is not healthy, nor benevolent.

I'm not a fan of his but it's definitely a critique of society, absurd as it may be. His attempt at mirroring society's absurdity is rather absurd, so, well done? 🙈
Definitely? Alright.
@@thermodynamics458 Is that not the attempt? 🤣
Poor Jordy. Benzodiazepines with bourbon swirls is a hell of a thing man. Even when you quit, detox successfully and remain sober, very often you remain forever in that previous realm of madness. Jordy, rest. Shhhhh.....shhh...
The rule stands and always will, dont touch downers
Special shoutout to Matt dropping the most slick joke of the week with that "Sam, surely u are familiar with this old English Dirge"
oh man. Getting through that stretch where its just Peterson's "music video" was tough
The "debate" with Slavoj Zizek literally ruined this guy's life.
Fast food employees do more work in a day than Peterson has done in his entire life.
No he worked on the railroad crew and grew up in northern Alberta. Nothing but manual labor for most every job there.
Yeah, getting a doctorate and becoming an Ivy League professor is way less work than flipping burgers and cleaning a grill. Fuck thinking and reading and writing and thinking and shit! 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
I'll tell ya being a fast food employee you have more dignity and integrity than peterson ever had ...whatever degree or expertise is has no credibility anymore since he's proved to be a Racist zionist puppet
Every time I see JP I leave a comment that his nervous breakdown is clearly coming any day now.
Coming any day now? It arrived years ago
@@betadecay6503 Yes, for sure. But I'm anticipating a complete meltdown where he can't speak and is institutionalized.
I miss Michael's Jordan Peterson impersonation!!! Sam reminded me of that when he just did his own Peterson voice, at the beginning of the video. Michael Brooks was so fkn funny and talented. Damn, the world lost such an amazing person when he passed...😔😢
Briefly read this as "Michael Jordan's Peterson impersonation" and got far too excited.
Did I smoke crack without my knowledge or is this real? Please help either way 😂😂😂😬
I remember this song Lily the pink .
"Lily the Pink" is a 1968 song released by the UK comedy group The Scaffold, which reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart. It is a modernisation of an older folk song titled "The Ballad of Lydia Pinkham". The lyrics celebrate the "medicinal compound" invented by Lily the Pink, and humorously chronicle the "efficacious" cures it has brought about, such as inducing morbid obesity to cure a weak appetite, or bringing about a sex change as a remedy for freckles.
JP's video looks like some student video, done with immaturity, but he believes is deep and meaningful. It ends up hilariously sending itself up.
Jordan Peterson as Skeletor is all you need to know and all that is to know.
His skeletor will always be inferior to Jim Sterling's, but it's hard to top the Commander for such things.
Also, wasn't he Red Skull? Wonder if he called an audible hoping to duck the potential beef with Disney/Marvel...?
That music video made me sad and confused and wonder what drugs he has done throughout his life
None of the good ones
benzos and bacon
Ketamine too
Imagine listening to that song for even 10 minutes straight while being detained at Guantanamo. An hour straight would probably have me trying to gouge my eyes out.
Legitimately one of the worst things I've ever seen. Thanks, gang.
It's just so so terribly bad.
He's trying to be Pink Floyd and it's so wrong in every way.
The Scaffold includes Paul McCartney's brother, they had about three biggish hits here in New Zealand. Lily the pink, Gin Gan Goolie and Liverpool girls.
Laughing hysterically and they haven't even played his video yet
It's jorp. Saves time
