    Wall ovens are so much better because they can be placed higher in a cabinet and you can have a mix of electric and gas in full size. Ranges have ovens that are too low to the ground and hard to deal with when you get older or have a bad back. As always I love your videos💜💜💜

      Couldn’t a range be placed on a pedestal / riser?
      I agree that typical counter height is too low for people over 6’1” or 6’2” or who hq be back / knee issues.

    Great video! One other factor that influenced our own choice to do a 36" induction top with separate wall ovens was the ability to have cabinets/drawers directly underneath the cook top, allowing us easiest access to pots, pans, and cooking utensils.

    Just bought a Wolf Contemporary Cooktop from Yale. I was originally going with a Wolf rangetop for our kitchen reno, but after I saw the Wolf Contemporary, I changed my mind. Less "industrial/professional," more sleek and modern. But it still has high BTU burners, including a 20,000 BTU burner in the center. It basically came down to the look I preferred. As you mentioned, the cooktop/wall oven selection I'm going with was really based around the kitchen design.

    My galley is small, but for my remodel I'm going with wall oven and cooktop. I want dual fuel, definitly a gas cooktop because the power grid isn't as reliable as I would like. I manage most of my light baking with a convection toaster oven.
    Stainless warmig drawer and matching stainless storage drawer under the cooktop.

    Ergonomics are very important to me, and having a back injury, I'd really prefer to not be bending unnecessarily. And, as we get older, bending can become challenging. Give me the wall oven any day.

    As a 60+ viewer, I like not having to bend down to a range oven when roasting or baking. So, wall ovens with a cooktop/rangetop is my preference whenever possible.

      Do you have any issues with removing heavy cooked items from your wall oven with the oven door as an obstruction? We were just looking at wall ovens last weekend and it seemed like it might be difficult to remove items with the pull-down door. Our current wall oven has a lift-up door on it. I appreciate your input!

    Ended up going with range and separate single wall oven. Wanted 2 ovens with 1 under a hood

    Does one really have to bend more for a wall oven under the counter (with or without a cooktop on top) compared to how much one needs to bend for a range oven? Do the wall oven models differ in this respect? Thanks. Super informative videos!

      @YaleAppliance1  Рік тому

      Good point. But when you place a wall oven on the wall, you dont have to bend.

    Question: can a range or cooktop with center mounted downdraft (ugh) be converted to use a hood and to-outside exhaust?

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  Рік тому

      The short answer is yes. If the unit is recirculating now (no ductwork) then its simply mounting a hood above and running a duct line out. If its currently ducted outside, then you are relocating the ducting to an overhead hood. More work and more costly but still doable.

    You showed a range that had gold or gold knobs. Would you mind letting know which range that was? It wasn’t the fancy French one. 😊

    Another good video of yours. The only comment I would make is I would avoid putting a Cooktops, Range Tops, Ranges, and for sure Wall Ovens in an Island Configuration. I have seen all of these done where I would have put the Sink and Dishwasher on the Island instead. Any form of Cooktop needs to be vented out and venting for such is either inefficient, impractical, or impedes the view from the kitchen.

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  Рік тому +1

      I agree....However, a proper island vent will vent.....not a downdraft

    • @drwhoeric
      @drwhoeric Рік тому

      @@YaleAppliance1 Also agree with never using a downdraft and wish to mention an island vent is difficult to have without blocking the view for an open concept.

    Terminology: I tend to use "range" and "stove" almost interchangeably, though I consider a range to be a bigger appliance like the professional ones. Some realtors will refer to a standard stove as an "oven", which I consider misleading. The oven is only part of a stove. It would be like pointing to the kitchen sink and calling it a faucet.
