the two were buddies and didn't want to harm one another.
Really tho it shows how easy the game is, you can win even using the bad moves
Once you send out something weak to grass, the exeggutor will spam leech seed
what i like about this champion fight is that they tried to give the people who exclusively trained their starter an extra challenge.
When I was a Pokemon newbie I tried to beat Fire Red with just my Squirtle. Blue's Ivysaur made me ragequit
i never really did that, as a 10 year old kid i would train a whole team of 6 evenly.
It was already a challenge doing that for Brock…

@@pureruckuspower2165I struggled beating brock when I was a kid , I battled him no joke like maybe over 70 times because I was using pikas quick attack & pidgys tackle 😂😂

I like how there are so many ways to face your rival's 3 evolutions of Eevee! Whenever you win your battles with him the entire time, or when you lose to him, especially forgetting to face him at a different route!
My first time defeating Blue as the Champion was on a fan-enhanced version of Fire Red. I knew what team I was going for from the start. This fan-enhanced version had all starters being obtainable, like Yellow, so this team was easy to compile. After some move remapping, this was the Champion team.
Team:
Charizard (starter)
Pikachu (caught in Viridian Forest)
Venusaur (obtained in Cerulean City)
Blastoise (obtained in Vermillion City)
Espeon (obtained in Celadon City)
Snorlax (obtained on that one bridge route in Eastern Kanto)

When Blastoise was facing Exeggutor, Blizzard would have been a lot better.
Not to mention he could have switched in charizard instead and saved himself the hassle. Fire and flying both have type advantage over grass
I have a feeling they’re intentionally making “misplays” to make it seem more dramatic.

The first time I beat this we were both down to our last pokemon, our starters. Only my pikachu was significantly lower than Gary's Jolteon. Through paralyzing and using double team my pikachu ultimately came out on top. That was an intense moment I won't forget :)
Your battles are always fun to watch
I always wondered why Pokemon in general was never consistent between it's anime, games, and manga. This is the only recorded team of gary for some reason.
When Jolteon took Blastoise down with a Thunder, it was showing no mercy!
AmnesiaLax is a very fine set for Snorlax, that allows him to function as a mixed attacker. Amnesia in RBY, after all, is one of the most powerful boosting moves in any Pokémon game, as it sharply raises the Pokémon's Special, which in RBY is both Special Attack and Special Defense combined. So a Snorlax with maxed out Special boosts can be a complete menace of a mixed attacker.
...but not when your Snorlax has no Special moves 😑
Lol what? Snorlax just becomes an unstoppable special tank while smashing enemies with Physical attacks.

I always replaces my pikachu for jolteon, because jolteon has incredible stats and he learns very good moves
Only AI bot computer likes like Quick attack and Thunderbolt.

In pokemon yellow you can get all of them by talking to people. Can't remember all but you got Squrtile in Vermillion city.

Trapping moves were OP in gen 1. As long as you're faster than the opponent, the move would constantly trap them and prevent then from attacking, so you could literally chip their health away without getting hit once
^ What I was going to comment, wrap on Dragonite was incredibly viable. You need to go back and play generations 1 again and you’ll realize how fucked some stuff was.

i mean, he sends out blastoise a WATER type, against exeggutor, a GRASS type. when he has a perfectly good CHARIZARD on his team
