ANYTIME Emelia is ON....I STOP AND WATCH! Her personality, personal and professional style is hands down...THE BEST! SHE needs her own design show on HGTV
I was waiting for the after shots... Sorry, but this is so unconnected and loveless (yes, modern can look like it's made with love). The before was beautiful. Lush green!
Have never seen Emilia & Pete together in a professionsl capacity. Love their humour & their design aesthetic...though a little sunshine would have added so much to this lovely back yard. 🌞
Simple...definitely low maintenance. So glad you didn't chop down all the trees. Not sure if i would have gone with that fencing colour. Great to see a couple working well in business.. the chemistry is infectious.
Mmm, I thought at first this was the ‘before’ garden!! All those fallen leaves looks messy on the gravel. It all looks rather unimpressive and bitty with items of furniture just dotted about in one big void. Definitely not a ‘wow’ garden, but as long as the owner loves it, that’s the most important.
@Islay Lamb I love a natural looking garden, my own garden is full of life and wildlife and leaves! It’s just that I felt for low maintenance, leaves and gravel don’t mix as it’s very difficult to clear leaves from gravel, extending the paving would have been a better option as it’s so much easier to sweep on paving. Perhaps if there was more planting within the middle of the garden, with a small tree, grasses etc, it would have given height and interest to the garden instead of everything being pushed out to the boundary fence and speaking about the fence, I feel a black paint would have worked better as a black colour really makes your plants stand out and the fence recede into the background.
How beautiful is this garden. Really adore the banana looking plant with the little white flowers. And those garden large plant holders are just beautiful. What are they made of?
This just seemed like they brought sets from big box stores and cut down trees removed grass. I didn’t see any “design” here. But if this is the owners vision oh well.
That was my thought exactly. Someone did one-stop shopping at Homesense and grabbed a couple of sets of patio furniture and a bunch of large planters. Somehow, the color of the fence totally throws off the entire minimal, contemporary vibe. A fence stain in charcoal or black would have tied everything together better IMO.
Instagram versus reality. I like that they are showing reality and not this dolled up back yard plus the owner is there, she's a real working woman and they said low maintenance. It's about sharing the owners story. Plus I'm some states you'll always have significant leaf fall, some people like it some don't. In use to leaf fall so it didn't bother me at all
I see designers like to use gravels as cheap pavers. It is neat and nice. But my concern is always the dropping leaves and debris. You won't blow the ground very often in reality.
Very neutral palette. It would be very easy to add pops of colors if you so desire. However, would the bird of paradise plant stay out all winter and still come back in the spring/summer?
I like more whit grass. Grass have severals benefits, should be a law to mantain certain sm2 of grass and trees in each property as well a certain sqf of backyard.
The people in Canada are not into gardening, aren`t they? They always talk about their gardens as their backyards. Don`t they like plants and flowers? In this example there are only five big planters or so - after the transformation. I do not get it.
As the mentioned and if you observe closely they did plant many plants all around near the fence... they just need to grow out. Buying mature plants can sometimes be expensive and out of people’s budget
Wow nice!! I was able to afford a house during the pandemic. I got myself involved involved into trading cryptocurrency and it has been the best decision of my life. I think the pandemic really thought us the importance of multiple streams of income.
Completely agree. I mean of course it looks better than what it was, but I wonder how much money they had to pay for the final outcome? I would have wanted something different myself if I were spending money on a project like that.

Totally agree! She is so much fun🙂❤️
I was waiting for the after shots...
Sorry, but this is so unconnected and loveless (yes, modern can look like it's made with love).

They could not be any cuter together. They make each other laugh - that must make their work even more fun - and they do great work.
Have never seen Emilia & Pete together in a professionsl capacity. Love their humour & their design aesthetic...though a little sunshine would have added so much to this lovely back yard. 🌞
Emillia always passes the VIBE check!
(and her partner tbh- great chemistry!)
Simple...definitely low maintenance. So glad you didn't chop down all the trees. Not sure if i would have gone with that fencing colour. Great to see a couple working well in business.. the chemistry is infectious.
Love this and am borrowing it. So effortless and easy. A great mix of modern with low maintenance plants. Perfect!
Love their energyyyy
I wish they had left more green in the space but I get the low maintenance request. This lady never disappoints
Love it. Low maintenance. Who cleans the leaves?
Love the banter!
Fave designer ... not sure about the pea gravel and leaf fall but love it!
I immediately liked when I saw her! Fav designer!
I would never get rid of a "random fruit tree" but I love a backyard without a turf
The trees provided privacy, and they chopped them all down so all the neighbors can look into the backyard!
Adore this couple. You could tell they’re related just by how they finish each other’s sentence.
The before was much more appealing...

Same. I thought it was a before as well. Someone should have swept.
I have to agree. Looks unfinished.

I thought so too
Gotta agree. It's kind of underwhelming.
"Random fruit trees" is a good thing!
Love both of them!
i love this space and love them both!
Hmm I don't know. It's definitely calming and peaceful, but I find it boring in general and the placement of the big planters random.
I thought it was the before shoot. I was waiting for them to move the planter. Lol
@@tinekawilliams2715 Me too. Also they needed to clean up the leaves if they were going to show this professionally. It looked very messy.
I love her work, beautiful

Love this idea.
Perfect!!!
Pete I feel you, my neighbors also take ideas from my decor, so true... :P
💕🙌🏻 love this
I love the fire table! Nice light alternative to concrete and metal. I don't see it on Crate and Barrel's site, though. A little help, please...
This just seemed like they brought sets from big box stores and cut down trees removed grass. I didn’t see any “design” here. But if this is the owners vision oh well.

They could start a fire and add pastries but they couldn’t put a blower vac over the yard? Come on people!
I thought the same thing. Could do a quick sweep and remove the leaves off the furniture.....very strange.
It crossed my mind but I wonder of they opted to leave it for a more realistic/ organic look. Just a thought

I thought the finished was the before ....but could they not have at least removed the leaves from the deck ?
Very neutral palette. It would be very easy to add pops of colors if you so desire. However, would the bird of paradise plant stay out all winter and still come back in the spring/summer?
In Canada, the Bird of Paradise plant would have to be placed indoors for the winter.
@@houseandhome thanks for your response.
Just checked Crate & Barrel’s website for the fantastic pedestal table & dining chairs. No luck…. Where are they from?
This was shot last year. The chairs are no longer available.
Awesome!
She should have asked Tracy of Tracy’s Home and Garden to design her backyard. She’s Canadian. She could have a backyard oasis.
Can you please link the tall planter for the herbs? Thanks.
I like more whit grass.
Grass have severals benefits, should be a law to mantain certain sm2 of grass and trees in each property as well a certain sqf of backyard.
You did a great job. Looks fantastic.
No grass anywhere?
If they don’t have a dog or kids they don’t need it 😂😂
Two cute people with unpronounceable last names
Not gonna lie, I had to copy-paste their last names into the description.

This doesn’t represent all of Canada. Lots of people love big lush gardens.
It's tough to grow anything in Canada, except for British Columbia. Every winter third of my perennials does not survive.
we have 6 months of winter so it's hard to keep stuff alive
@@va3023 I see. And now imagine those plants from all around the fence with the fruit trees from the before pictures = that would be a garden.
Needs grass and a proper fire pit.
Where is the fire table from?! 😍
If you're looking for lush greenery you will be disappointed. I know I was.
A water feature would have been nice.
"She is a professional" Why on earth does that matter? Surely she could be a tradie or a fishmonger and still enjoy a delightful living space...
Can that Bird of Paradise stay out in winter??
No, it can not.
They make a cute couple
Can any wine tell me where they got the fire pit table?
Last comment. So funny 😂
I hate it! I love the look of grass not pea gravel.
Do the plants stay out all winter?
LMAO no, that's a bird of paradise, it would have to be brought in soon as the temp even dips below 10C
You got rid of the shrubs and fruit trees?!!!
Yeah, right?!
Transform mine, please! 😅
should of been cleaned up before filming. looks very messy
What do you all do when it rains?
They’re hilarious
Shame. It’s not doing anything for me.
Love how i can't pronounce both their names
We love that you don't speak any foreign language (for sure not greek or polish).
@@leoprg5330 I actually do speak a foreign language. English.
Horrible. Just a horrible stone desert.
Terrific for those who don't want to spend hours of their time off mowing or doing other yardwork.
That's they called it low maintenance so that they dont regularly mowing the lawn.
Wow nice!! I was able to afford a house during the pandemic. I got myself involved involved into trading cryptocurrency and it has been the best decision of my life.
I think the pandemic really thought us the importance of multiple streams of income.
I totally agree with you, it’s been an eye opening experience for a lot of people.
Making the right decision when investing can be a tough task
I don't think anybody should be left out when going for digital assets
I lost some funds trading on a platform then I was referred to Mr Lucas Naved. He recovered the loss and made an extra profit using his trade tactics
@Victoria Alexis That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Lucas Naved
Nah...too much concrete.
Im not impressed at all. She’s way better indoors not trying to be mean just saying
meh. Doesn't look cohesive.
Completely agree. I mean of course it looks better than what it was, but I wonder how much money they had to pay for the final outcome? I would have wanted something different myself if I were spending money on a project like that.
VARIEGATION?! WHAT? Haha
こたけ
Please hyphenate your last names just so you can watch people struggle.
Meh 😒
