      I think the term “American of Native heritage” sounds better if I’m being honest. It is because in today’s interconnected world, if I say Indians, people might mistake me of referring to people from India.

    I prefer to recognize people #1 as individual human beings. Everything else is a distant 2nd at best.
    #2 I find it essentially meaningless to group people together by virtue of being from the same major continent (Africa, Asia, Europe, etc.). As much as possible, effort should be made to identify either a tribe or at least a smaller geographic region. The Cherokee are not the Navajo are not the Nez Perce are not the Sioux, etc., just as the Spanish are not Germans nor are the Mongols Vietnamese.

    • @user-vg3jq9fk5m
      @user-vg3jq9fk5m 2 роки тому

      Вы обсалютно правы, каждая нация имеет право на свою индификацию по тем или иным признакам, но проживая в определённом регионе( в географическом аспекте), нужно очень чутко ощущать ту тонкую грань между самоопределением и началом национализма во всех смыслах, чтобы это не вылилось в уродливаю форму нацизма и привосходства, как это случилось на Украине. Где родные по крови народы, с чей-то поскудной идеи превосходства, стали как цепные обезумевшие псы рвать друг друга. Так что самоопределение безусловно должно быть, все народы имеют на это право, но без лишнего фанатизма и дури в башке. А так каждый народ на Матушке Земле имеет право быть и должен быть, ибо так заповедано нашим создателем. Ведь и радуга не будет столь прекрасна, если из неё убрать хоть один из цветов (синий, белый или красный😉)

      @@treebeardtheent2200 О, это просто супер. Вы удивили меня. Это так здорово, добро пожаловать в великий мир древней славянской культуры. Добро пожаловать всем братьям кто на стороне светлых сил и разума. Мы открытый народ, нам есть что дать миру, есть чем поделится. И это не только культурное наследие , но и глубокие внутренние познания, что заповедавали нам наши предки. Мы и сами не так давно стали возвращаться к истокам своей древней культуры, к её великому наследию. Многие все больше и больше просыпаются, словно от тяжкого сна, как будто мы все это время, пока Запад морочил нам мозги видели лишь кошмары. А теперь "проснулись", дух пробудился. Встали с колен в полный рост, и поможем встать другим народам. Поможем, потому что в этом суть и истина существования моей нации, моего народа. Мы были, есть и будем, как бы Западный мир не хотел нас уничтожить. Вы думаете что только коренные народы им мешали, только их за людей не считали. Нет. Больше всех они ненавидели нас, Русских. Всегда и сто идвести лет назад, и ещё раньше всегда русы - роксоланы мешали им. Потомки Сарматов и Скифов, мы не делили народы по рассовому признаку, не имели рабов, не угнетали и не завоёвывали, но защищали всегда и себя и близ расположенные государства. Ведь что такое Россия это союз племён и народов объединённых одной целью, целью защиты своих интересов и сомоиндефикации, сомоопределения. Цель сохранить все культурное многообразие народов населяющиех этот регион планеты, наследие предков. И не кто не главный, нечего Заподу нам "воду мутить" мы сами разберёмся. Русская культура это один огромный плавильный котёл из множество культурных нарезок большого количества племён прошедших в веках по великим равнинам России. Мы должны дружить, а не воевать друг с другом, чтобы сохранить свои территории. Иначе получится всё как они сделали с коренными народами Америки. Только их в резервации упрятали, а русских всех подчистую уничтожат, как это на Украине происходит. Мы им сильно мешаем стоить хаос на Земле.

    With all due respect to Russell, but the term "indio" came from when the Spanish thought they had reached India rather than a different continent. It's the same as in English with "indian". It's a misnomer, so Native Americans IS the right term.

      India wasn't a country in 1492. It was called Hindustan at that time.
      Also, all legal documents, Constitutional mentions, and treaties use the word "Indian" or "American Indian". Changing their name to "Native" or "Indigenous" lumps them in with many other people (Hawaiian, Samoan ...etc). Just as he mentioned in 3:12 into the video. Changing their name was the government's way to create a loophole to say they don't recognize those amendments and treaties.

  • @e.h.5849

    let's use term ''first nations'', nothing wrong with that. Indians is an absolutely wrong term. America derrives from the name of Amerigo Vespucci who was the continent named after. Being called a native is not necessarily to be taken as an insult, it's just a term denoting the fact that you have been here since time immemorial and did not imgigrate. not in the recent times or even in ancient times, but in the prehistory. which makes you an original population.
