      Lol! I know what you mean. I’m still waiting for my hands to get back to “normal” after decorating my parents’ tree last week. Maybe by Christmas our hands will recover. Thanks for watching and happy holidays!!

    Another alternative to buying a flocked tree is to apply flock to an existing tree. It's fun. It looks terrific. It's easy and much less expensive.

    You know I know this fishtailing the ends of the Revenant call it whatever you want fishtail Chevron whatever anyway or a dove cut but I like sometimes just a simple slant a diagonal slant is just as pretty now I'm going to roll the ribbon up on the ends then I'll do it straight across but I love a lot of your ideas very very good very professional thank you for sharing

    How did you make your feel in clusters and how many yards of ribbon do I need to make those three bows you put at the top you have inspired me to do better lol

    • @themadeupokie
      @themadeupokie  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi there! So happy to have helped inspire you! For the clusters, I typically pull together 4-6 different picks with items of various lengths, colors, textures and then use one of the picks to wrap around the other picks to hold together. Alternatively, you can tie them together with something else like a pipe cleaner or twist tie. For the bows, they typically use about 15 ft of ribbon total for each 8-9 loop bow. If you use 2 ribbons then you would use about 7.5 ft of each ribbon. Hope that helps!!

    How do does the ribbon stay on the tree, the one you put from top to bottom ? I love it.

    • @themadeupokie
      @themadeupokie  2 роки тому

      When I push the ribbon into the tree I find it typically stays in place pretty well on its own. But I do often use the greenery of the tree to tie around the ribbon to help secure in place. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    What a fantastic ideal! I will be transforming my green tree to a fake flocked tree this year. I had already priced a new flocked tree but was concerned about the cost as well as the storage issue after Christmas. This fake flocked tree will take care of my problem. Thanks for saving me money and storage! As always, your finished tree is gorgeous!

      Oh yay! So happy to hear this video will help you out. This idea was born out of a similar concern for me as well. I already had a green tree and didn’t want to shell out the money for a new flocked tree. And I use this same tree for other themes where flocking isn’t appropriate so it ends up being more versatile. Have fun decorating and thanks for watching!!

      It’s fabulous! It came from Decorator’s Warehouse. It’s the 4th link in the description box (jute ribbon with white trim). But I just checked and it’s sold out online. 😢 They have lots of amazing ribbon options though! Thanks for watching!!

      Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have to admit I impressed even myself this time. ☺️ Although I really do think flocked trees do most of the work. I’m so excited you’re continuing to work on your DIY ornaments. I look forward to hearing how they turn out. Have a great weekend! 🥰

      You made a wonderful job with the flocked.
      I'm working on that too.
      I have some picks, and I want to add some white paint, glitter and snow.
      And then make big cluster picks with the poinsettias that I made with some burlap ribbon, and some pinecones from my afghan pine tree, because I live in the desert it had only once some very small pinecones.
      Have a nice weekend, and here we are waiting for your next video, specially the tall tree. 💖

      Wow! You are so creative. That all sounds spectacular! Keep me posted on the progress. I’ll spend this weekend and the next 2 finishing my decorating and then film my home tour beginning of December. I will have 1 or 2 more Christmas tutorials before then. It just depends on how long everything takes. Filming /editing slows me waaaay down! 😊

    Do you recommend a flocked tree 🌲 or a regular?

    • @themadeupokie
      @themadeupokie  2 роки тому +1

      That’s a great question! I’d say if you’re already purchasing a new tree, you want the flocked look but don’t want the flexibility of switching between a flocked/non-flocked look, I’d go with flocked. They’re not typically that much more expensive than purchasing the regular tree plus the supplies to make it look flocked. With that being said, flocked trees are messier in my experience. I personally like the option to sometimes have the flocked look and sometimes not.

      I bought mine several years ago but saw that Walmart has some good options from their Holiday Time brand this year. And it’s available online!
