I like the transition interludes in the vid…they grab attention and spark new interest…vids within the vid. Brilliant…hats off to your production team. That said, I wonder how many similar old a$$ spoons could be found at garage sales across the land…guessing a few, and certainly some Kastmasters too. Keep cleaning out the bottom of your tackle box and offering effective new school uses and tricks with previously dormant old school hardware, toys that are happy to once again see the light of day and elated to take another long awaited dip. Seriously though, I’m learning stuff from these remixes so please keep em coming. Thanks!
Denise is my production team and I had to do a lot of talking to get her to do a video with me. She can really fish too and is a very good listener. I told her in a year from now she will be a great fisherman!
I've seen bass eat 6 and 7 inch flutter spoons ... that spoon is definitely not too big ! That spoon has got to find it's way into my arsenal lol. Enjoyed the content and interested in using this technique ! Thanks Alan 👍!
Yea I use some 8" flutter spoons and when I tried this 4" spoon it blew me away! Especially when I was at Berryessa and killed the bass on it and then the next week tried it on stripers and we killed the big stripers so I think it works!
I'm going on Sat to Lake Berryessa for Salmon and Crappie. No fish finders on this boat unfortunately. How do you suggest we located them both ? Please note: We have your all white Gitzit with 6lb test on 1 pole and 8lb on another. We plan on salting some bait as you have suggested for the salmon. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I to plan on targeting salmon and crappie on Berryessa in the coming week. I am unfamiliar with the lake so any advice would be greatly appreciated to make the trip a successful one.
I use custom built rods but I use a 7'11" rod with med parabollic bend to it. Solike a light swimbait rod in 3 power works good and I use 25# test big game mono line. When spooning I always use mono or florocarbon coated line to get the spoon to fall right.
I use a 7'11' moderate med action rod. Line is very important to use mono or copolymere floro coated line as this helps the spoon fall correctly. You'll need a 7:1 ratio reel to keep up with the fish

Tysm Alan and Denise.. Denise asks great questions, and Alan 's explanations are concise, clear, and sound.
Glad you like them!
Thanks Alan for all the insight into spoons and Kastmasters.
My pleasure! Glad I can help

Nice Video. There's some big fish cruising around under the docs when we're fishing for crappie.
You got that right! I've caught bass over 8# under them docks!
Great Video Alan! I am definitely going to have to try this technique when fishing for stripers in the Aqueducts. Wish me luck!
Good luck!
@@AlanFong i will have to give you a shout out when i upload the next aqueduct episode.

Glad you enjoyed

Let us know how you do. I guess the lake still hasn’t turned over and probably won’t with Spring just around the corner. Good luck!
I would look for the grives and merganser birds out in front of a creek and mooch down 20 - 30 feet. maybe around big island or in Marley cove?
this week heard guys are trolling with pearl hooch's behind a dodger in 60-80 ft tipped with cured anchovy on main body. watch for bird activity
Hi Alan. What line and rod do you use for flutter spooning
I use custom built rods but I use a 7'11" rod with med parabollic bend to it. Solike a light swimbait rod in 3 power works good and I use 25# test big game mono line. When spooning I always use mono or florocarbon coated line to get the spoon to fall right.
Great video.. how do I buy 5 of those
They will be available at FW soon and I'll have it on link so it will take you right to where to by it!
Good morning Alan! Is the link available to buy these spoons yet?
what happenbs when you get a snag.
Break off and tie on another. Most of the time you don't snag very offten only if your pitching into the docks.
What lake are you fishing?
I was in Berryessa when I did the flutterspooon video
What type of line and rod
I use a 7'11' moderate med action rod. Line is very important to use mono or copolymere floro coated line as this helps the spoon fall correctly. You'll need a 7:1 ratio reel to keep up with the fish
@@AlanFong awesome your the man any budget friendly ones you world recommend
Most manufactures make these rods. You need a parabolic bend so light swimbait rods work well. Also Bobby Barricks new frog rod would work great too!
@@AlanFong thanks that rod is niceee
What type and size line are you using for this technique?
25# big game or yozuri hybrid
Heard you on radio about these for stripers. What size is that spoon. When available I will buy some. Good video. Thanks, George
There bladerunner 4" flutter spoons and will be available soon. I'll be putting up the flutter spoon stripers video soon too!
Should I get 3.5 or 5 inch or both lol
I've caught more on the 3.5 but I use both
THUMBS-UP!!!!!!!!!
Man that is a huge flutter spoon for bass
How do you know when you have a bite? Trust me, you'll know.
Sometimes you'll feel a tick or see the line jump. But sometimes when a big fish hits you'll just feel it load up. So I always set the hook their FREE
