When it comes to public schools, they need to stop "teaching to the test" and get back to teaching how to learn. My wife did this very effectively when she taught in Boston. She ignored everything she had to parrot to earn a masters in education. Instead, she did what she knew would work. Not tolerating bad behavior from students and then seeing the bar high for the students. Never start by expecting low academic outcomes. Her results got the attention of the superintendent office because her students improved at a higher rate than any other classroom in the entire city. Not even the exam schools got the results she did. Expect more from the students, not less. Provide a disciplined classroom where bad behavior is not allowed.
Both need to be done. They need to be able to pass the tests. The tests cover the basics they should have learned. I have homeschooled and managed to do both.

My daughter's homeschool group did thst exact thing. Kids received varied teaching and learning they wouldn't have received in public school. Even dad's came in and taught science and woodworking, motor repair, and so on. Worked great for daughters group.

When it comes to public schools, they need to stop "teaching to the test" and get back to teaching how to learn.
My wife did this very effectively when she taught in Boston. She ignored everything she had to parrot to earn a masters in education. Instead, she did what she knew would work. Not tolerating bad behavior from students and then seeing the bar high for the students. Never start by expecting low academic outcomes.
Her results got the attention of the superintendent office because her students improved at a higher rate than any other classroom in the entire city. Not even the exam schools got the results she did.
Expect more from the students, not less. Provide a disciplined classroom where bad behavior is not allowed.

My son is 17, autistic, and in a specialized school for kid's with autism. For the last 2 year's, he's missed school because of The Coof! The MN Dept of Education receives $12,500 every year for my son. Since he wasn't attending school, I decided to reach out to the Dept of Education and am demanding they pay us $25,000 since we were the one's teaching him......I'm still waiting to hear from them.

My daughter's homeschool group did thst exact thing. Kids received varied teaching and learning they wouldn't have received in public school. Even dad's came in and taught science and woodworking, motor repair, and so on. Worked great for daughters group.

My nephew has no social life at all because he doesn't by into the "woke" crap. So girls don't really date him, he doesn't have friends. And he's an outgoing, very good looking kid. Jesus compared the proximity of his return to a woman in labor. As the labor progresses the pains increase in both frequency and intensity until the baby finally comes.
It's recorded in the book of MATTHEW chapter 24,
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
Jesus goes on to say, "when ye see all these things know that is is near, even at the door."
So in the same way Cindy... You see the intensity and frequency of all that's happening. The culmination of all things. All these signs are converging before us like labor pains. It's not slowing down.
The love of many growing cold. But the real issue is that the love and relationship with God has cooled off. It's evident in the way people treat one another. We see fires, volcanoes, earthquakes storms happening simultaneously and at times in the same instant across the globe, all at record high numbers. Notice even the news anchors and scientists are saying the words, "frequency and intensity" alot? Just as Jesus said it would be just before his return.

But an equally terrifying, skin-crawling situation would definitely be to turn on the TV on January 20, 2025, and see Donald Trump Jr. being sworn in as president of the United States, which a number of Republican voters apparently actually want to happen.
