Awesome info! SO happy to see acupuncture listed in the A1 recommendations! Just an FYI, the second acu point you mentioned is large intestine 4; 4th point on the large intestine channel. Easy to read it as L 14 but it's actually LI 4. Could be helpful to differentiate so that someone doesn't accidentally look up large intestine 14, which is a different point and is located near the insertion of the deltoid. As an RN who is about to also become a licensed acupuncturist, I am hopeful we can bridge the gap and get acupuncturists in the post-op settings!
HI HV! Thanks for the comment! Iron sharpens Iron! My youngest son gets severe motion sickness when driving up the mountains, we use the wrist bands a lot since he loves to Ski! I may find myself learning more about acupuncture!
Great point Aimee! I had forgotten about that trick, when I worked the ICU one of my mentors she always kept an ammonia pack taped to her I’d badge in case a family member passed out when they would get that first visit seeing their loved one on a ventilator and life support.
Hi Marzie, there will be a download workbook containing PONV guidelines with the CPAN® Review Course. Go to PACUNursingminutes.com to sign up for course release information coming this winter!
Thank you...for an old nurse transitioning to PACU...
Thank you!

Excellent content!!
Thank you Tracey!
This is great information. I’ve found ammonia inhalants to also work when alcohol swabs may not.
