    Just found this channel and yes! So glad! I'm just going through a hard time, just got back from an exchange year of high school abroad, and it's so hard to face home again. I read really good things about meditation! Think it can help me a lot! Let's try! Why not? Thank you!

      Yes, I totally recognize that. Have you seen this video: ua-cam.com/video/0FxYBwobHCU/v-deo.html. It's not necessarily meant for the people who lived/studied in South Africa; it's more a mindset how you work with having lived somewhere else (and then especially: coming back to your own country after that!). Meditation will help you find yourself and having peace with your current situation as well ♥ Hopefully!

    I started doing yoga a year ago and fell in love with guided meditations a couple of months ago, now I'd like to learn to meditate without guidance.. I've noticed that I try to put it off mostly, not sure why.. insecurity I guess.. Also, it's really hard to sit up straight for a long time because of pain in my back.. I hope I'll be able to grow past that.. Anyways, thanks for doing this video, love this, and I love your style so much!!

      Thanks for the love, Kim!
      Learning to meditate in silence is simply a matter of doing it. Don't be scared! Maybe first try it for 5 or 10 minutes and see how it goes. We all have to go through those struggles first, before it pays off. And about sitting up straight: you don't have to sit 'by yourself' - you can also simply sit on a chair, or maybe put a pillow behind your back? Whatever works for you of course! The most important thing is that you're able to relax and not be too hard on yourself :) Good luck!! Curious about your process ♥

    I just started meditating and have the following thoughts: "What am I supposed to be thinking?"...."I should not be thinking...." ..."Should I be thinking?"....:) I love all your videos, you're very calm and have an earthy/grounded quality about you. Keep up the videos! You're awesome!

      Thank you so much for these words, they mean the world! That's exactly 'who I am' actually - spiritual and pragmatic ;) I can totally imagine that you asked yourself these questions. Keep in mind that it's OK to think: try to zoom out and look at your thoughts though (and that's the hard part, I know). I takes time and practice, but you can do it once you persevere and keep practicing! That you're trying is already SO great!! ♥

    This is such a great guide, thanks Zoe! I totally resonate with that first time meditating. 😂 I actually used to get more stressed when I meditated because I didn't think I was doing it "right." It wasn't until I let go of needing to do it a certain way that I actually embraced it and made it a daily habit. I wish I had had this video when I first started!

    I loved the way that you explain that. I lived in India for 6 months.. and i back to brazil in 2015. I had some time there for yoga, and for think about my body, my chakras as well..I did not know anything about this when I arrived, and actually i have to say to you is hard to start. I mean, for me. I am super anxious, and i cant stop to have a lot of thoughts. Sometimes bad thoughts.. But i mean, we are human and we have the both sides to think. So.. we have to choose the positive life. The positive mind. But i want to be more, i hope that this year i can do this more easily. Hahah xx Love and peace for you!

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts Yasmin! Perhaps really try to meditate daily/consistently to look at the positive side more and more. For some of us it's a true struggle and challenge, and it also really depends on what you're going through in life, but I truly believe meditate will keep you strong throughout all of this! All the best to you ❤

    Hé Wild Child,
    Strange name you have. I'm probably 30 years older then you are, but I have the feeling you are more grown up as I am. I can learn so much listening to you...
    Anyway... I like your channel, and I share your love for meditation. I discovered TRE some time ago, and would like to share it with you. TRE stands for Tension Release Exercises. (Google on 'TRE psoas' and you will find lots of information)
    I'm from Holland just like you, and discovered TRE nearby Capetown, haha. For me it's a kind of meditation, coming home in the house where I live in: my own body. During the day I'm usually a quite rational. logical man, and sometimes not aware of what's going on in my life on a deeper level. I think this is pretty normal to everyone of us. TRE brings me back to another state of awareness, just like meditation does. And practicing TRE a few times a week, it makes me more stable, balanced in general.
    After doing a few simple fysical exerecises your body starts to 'shiver'. There is nothing strange about this, there are no incomprehensible theory behind it, and you can always stop the shivering if you don't feel comfortable with it, by simply stretching your legs.
    In the beginning this shivering felt strange, - and yes, it gave me exactly the same 'what the fuck'-moments you're talking about -but after a while I recognized it as releasing the stress I receive in everyday life. And releasing it in a very gentle and friendly way. Right now it is a part of my daily/weekly life, just like eating, sleeping and doing the laundry. It enriches my life, just like meditation does.
    TRE started with children having bad experiences in war-situations, and is being used now in all kinds of stressfull situations, like soldiers in wars, people with complex psychiatric problems, etc. Personnally I'm sure it has benefits for everyone of us. It's just a way to be friendly for yourself. I'm really curious what your experiences with TRE will be.

    I tried meditation once before but I had such a monkey-mind that I gave up almost immediately! I know I’m like a year late in watching this video but you’ve inspired me to give it a go again. I have anxiety and realise that continuous worry is exhausting, so I’m challenging myself to meditate for 10 minutes everyday for 3 weeks, and see if it makes a difference! Love this video, super calming :)

    Thanks for this video! I've been struggling with anxiety (although I don't feel like I have a particularly hard situation I'm going through), my heart rate has been racing lately and I notice I can't stay calm very well even though everything is fine. I just tried the stop breathe and think app and really liked it. I will check out the other suggestions as well. Thanks!

    • @ProfessionalWildChild
      @ProfessionalWildChild  7 років тому

      Ahh, be careful there. Meditation might actually really be helpful - I truly hope it will be helpful for you.
      Just want to point out though: I also meditated in a period in my life in which I was extremely busy with work and had palpitation of the heart. In the end, meditation helped staying calm throughout the day, but I simply needed to work less, which in the end did the trick of getting healthy again. I'm not an expert of course, but do try to find the cause of your anxiety and heart rate - quite literally: you have to listen to your heart! Take it easy. I hope meditation will help make you calmer, but also in giving you answers :) All the best!

    great video! I would like to add, that you can also do meditation laying down. Best if it is on the floor, but you could do it in you bed before sleeping. Basicaly you lay on you back, your whole spine, including your neck, touches the floor. Your arms are by your side, palms upwards. You put your feet together, and then let them fall apart. Then your whole body can be relaxed, if you think about each bodypart, you realize to release tension there. I was so suprised, you can even relax your scalp, forehead, face, eyes...beacause there is even tension there! I think it is called dead-position if I mirror translate my language :D but also savasana is the pro name :)
    love your videos!

    • @ProfessionalWildChild
      @ProfessionalWildChild  7 років тому

      MJBpeace Thanks for the feedback! You might be right, but in general people have an association with sleeping when they're laying down. I think, therefore, that for beginners it's handier to start in an "alert" position :) But whatever suits the persons needs of course :)

    Thank you so much for this video! It definitely gave me a more clear vision of meditation, and trust me I've watched so many video about it I cannot even count! Again thank you for being yourself and so clear about the topic! You gave me a boost to start even though I would like to ask you if you had moments where you've been lonely In your life (living alone, experience of work abroad, etc). I have been through this and I am still a bit afraid of complete silence around me, I'm still a bit affected but I really feel like starting meditating.

    • @ProfessionalWildChild
      @ProfessionalWildChild  7 років тому +1

      Hi Angela!
      Yes, I do a lot of things alone actually; for instance, I love to travel by myself as well. Being lonely is something else, though. I've never had true, long, moments of loneliness, because I'm very happy with 'being with myself' often. But of course, like every human being, I have ups and downs as well and I have had it sometimes. I think therefore, that meditation will truly help you with accepting silence and being alone. Meditation simply can't have a negative effect, so it's a matter of practicing (and keep practicing) until you notice the benefits. Like I said in the video: you do need some persistence and patience with this, but I'm sure you will notice some results if you do it consistently for a few weeks already.
      I'm happy it was clear for you and hopes this answer helps a bit! You won't know the difference if you don't try it. All it needs is facing your fears and be courageous (and that sounds easier than it is, I know): but it sounds like your intrinsic motivation is already quite far in really wanting to try it once. I think accepting the silence will help you with accepting yourself and that want happened to you as well. All the best to you! Lots of love, Zoë ♥

    Hi! Do you think is better to do it in the morning or before to go to the bed?
    Thank you for your videos!

    • @ProfessionalWildChild
      @ProfessionalWildChild  7 років тому

      Personally I prefer to do it in the mornings, it really feels like a fresh start and my mind is completely 'clean' because of it. Sometimes, after a hectic or stressful day, I like to do it before going to bed as well.

    Hi! I wanna start this because I'm a reincarnated soul from RMS Titanic deceased soul and I'm trying to figure out my past live but with voice meditation videos makes me frustrated lol could this also help me with this situation? Or no!?

    I'm wondering, if you are having lots of problems, won't you focus on it and get stressed when you meditate?

    • @ProfessionalWildChild
      @ProfessionalWildChild  7 років тому +1

      That's the thing with meditation (at least for me): when I'm having problems or stress, I can 'let it go' way easier because of meditation (instead of focusing on it). This is because I look at the problem/issue as a separate thought; the thought is not 'who I am'. If you practice meditation more and more, you'll get the hang of this matter and it's easier to handle with problems/stress throughout life - in my experience.

      I see what you mean but I think I don't know how to do it yet, I will keep on practicing, thank you for your answer.

    U make me try it, Im gonna see if I can follow the routine for 3weeks. Might be a problem with 4months baby but I have to try. I feel so drained and depressed at home lately. Maybe that will make me more energetic.
    F*ck it! :D (unfortunately can't use it when my baby cries :P)
    thanks for that video :)

    • @ProfessionalWildChild
      @ProfessionalWildChild  7 років тому

      Haha, I can imagine! How brave of you to at least acknowledge this. I can imagine it's a challenge when you have a newborn. Let me know how it turns out! I hope it helps with how you feel. Maybe always do a little meditation while your baby is sleeping? Don't fall asleep yourself right away as well ;) You can do that after - lol.
