    Wipe off the cuvette when you are done shaking. Finger prints can skew the results by quite a bit. Awesome channel.

    Could of been the small particles that formed when bound up with phosphates that killed the clam. Did you use a 10 micron filter sock to remove the particles?

      Good point. Yes i did put a new 10 micron sock in. Ive been testing every couple days, I will be posting an update soon.
      Thanks

    I have a two clams in my reef both over 7". I've dosed Rx twice never lost anything.

      Rene Macias that just proves every tank set up is different. I'm sure that something happened because of the rx. That doesn't mean it will kill all clams. But something unfortunately happened to mine while using it. Dosing again this week. I'll be putting another video up

    Do instructions say to turn off skimmer ? and remove carbon if any ,for at least 24 hours

      No. In fact I put it in near the skimmer for best results. It binds the phosphate and is taken out by the skimmer.
      However I would remove the carbon.

    Po4 rx is a floculant, and binds po4 out of solution (that cloudiness you see after dosing), which is then filtered out of the water colomb by the skimmer and filter socks. Unforunately your clam probably suck in quite a bit of that po4 floculant, and did it in. Sorry man.

    wrong Hanna checker. For reef tanks you need the Hanna ULR

    • @Joeyt66
      @Joeyt66  7 років тому +2

      No the only difference is if you want to read PPM Or PPB The ultra low range will give you more accuarate on lower concentration of phos phate.

      Sorry, i should of clarified: For SPS tanks, you need a ULR Hanna checker.

    I recently tried a pool product called Clorox phosphate remover, which is the same thing just a higher concentrate of lanthanum chloride, same thing phosphate Rx is made of but much cheaper. I payed 8 dollars for 1 quart of it.it did the same thing, during the dose I noticed my tang was breathing heavily but after he was fine.

      pauls reef that may be something I'll look into. Knowing me I'd nuke my tank. Probably better I stay with something that has trusted instructions. Lol.
