I really love the idea of adapting Furina into HSR, esp since, even if she'll proportionally buff Blade and JL as much as Arlan, if not more. Blade Furina and Jade would probably eat and leaves a free slot for someone like bronya or sparkle for even more actions. Also that doc is primo, definitely using it for funsies kit crafting.

The Furina kit is nice and all, but a 5 star Arlan can also be Hoyo-fixed with a new occupation. Some good examples: Chinese opera singer, French mime, Eskimo cosplayer, foundation makeup tester, or maybe a teacher's aide whose sole job is to wipe the chalkboard so his face is permanently covered in chalk.

Best way my (opnion) to buff Arlan would be to make a Presenvation unit that makes the enemy miss attacks. I Joked about with my friends About making a Lifeweaver character on Honkai. Lifeweaver has two skills that make him very memorable: His tree of life, and his Pull. Make a kit on star rail like his: Basic attack:Nornal support nuddle dmg but heals him like Glr a Skill that "buffs" a character of choice and next attack will not do dmg to the buffed character if the character is attacked. if the enemy targets the "buffed" character then they receive a Buff on Crit rate, atk% and they swap places with the "Lifeweaver clone" His ult would make a AOE like Jiaoqiu that makes everyone on the enemy side attacks not connect, and our side the less HP the team has the more dmg the team would do, when the fields ends the team gets healed. His traces could be make every two skill he gets a skill point to help sp genaration, Immune Allies get more crit dmg, And swaping places with allied makes the enemy taunt the "Lifeweaver clone" E1 would increase the trace crit dmg and crit rate bonus buff, like Ratios Wiseman folly E2 Would make you able to make your entire team immune by skill alone Any E3 E4 Would active the Immune buff on everyone that would get a insta-K-O Any E5 E6 Would make his Field Have Effect res buff allies and a Effect res nerf to the enemy based on the %of his HP. altough not the greatess design would give Arlan a Sustain that would not buff Blade and Jingliu and would also help the original of my Idea of buff: Yanqing Not wanting to the guy, But Arlan can play Sparkle Robin and Aventurine and it is how i've been playing him. Ironically, I also had the idea of introducing Furina in Hsr, but not because of Arlan, but because of healers in general. We all know that healers aren't in a good position, but this isn't new. In fact, it happened back in Genshin. And how bad was it? Well, ask it to Kokomi. However, when Furina arrived, she gave such an insane boost to healers, to the point where they were not only as good, if not better than shielders, but also if you have Furina in your account, losing 50/50 to Jean is technically also a win. Now, with this in mind, just think about a Furina in Hsr: -Luocha will finally be on pair with Huohuo. -Huohuo will be an even more broken unit. -Bailu will have now a greater use thanks to her ultimate. -Natasha will suddenly go from one of the worst characters in the game to one of the beat f2p options.
Along side Xueyi and Yukon, Arlan s one of those mini projects that I have improving him little by little as I farm relics for other characters and waiting for some new character that enables him to perform better.
Xueyi is amazing, you just need…. her E6… yeah. Sad reality of trying to build any 4⭐️ characters, you need their E4 at the bare minimum for the investment to be worth it.
Same.. Idk why, but it is just a thrill doing this.. But xueyi doesn't fit here, cuz she is an actual good character even before the Break Meta becomes a thing.. Arlan and Yukong however, gosh.. They really do struggle.. Yukong is decent with E6, but she really needs a way to help her gain more energy to get her ult faster.. Cuz her E is just awful to use, and spd tuning is a nightmare.. And I do this for 5 star as well, since Blade is going downhill.. I honestly want an HP decay support to I can do Jade Blade team much better..

I'll say this. No, you can absolutely introduce a light cone tailored made for Arlan, which would not change the balance and be a subpar option for other 5 stars. It's also the most realistic option for a update balancing. What your doing also isn't a buff for Arlan, but hp reliant units in general. Fu xuan, Blade and Arlan being in this category. Blade and Arlan would be happy, but Fu xuan buffs, is dangerous, as their already an amazing tank, being now a stronger unit because there's a unit in the game that supports more hp play is going to make them not only more powerful but also more survivable. So because of that I genuinely cannot support this- it's insanely good for her and creates a growing issue of over survivability. That said here's an easy light cone that fixes their issues. - When HP is consumed for a skill, double the consumption and provide a bonus equal to the percentage hp consumed to damage. (Arlan's issue is that despite wanting to be low hp it takes 5 casting of his skill to be at the best talent scaling, this reduces it to 2 or even 3 while making his damage worth it and quick to access.) Only firefly base state can make use of this, making it inefficient. - For every HP percentage reduce based on max HP of the wearer, increase their defense by 1%, up to a maximum of 40/50/60/70/80%. (Increases survivability for using his skill, as he has no means to recover hp and while it's useful to blade, he doesn't benefit as much from it since he wants more hp then defense. This also gives him durability he desperately needs since he hang around the 80% or less hp range.) The only counter argument to this is firefly and yunli, as firefly gains defense plus heals and yunli wants to get his and recovers hp on skill, making them really tanky, though Yunli and firefly lose out on damage since Firefly loses out on break effect and Yunli on crit. - Increase the wearers energy regeneration rate by 1% for every 2 HP percentage reduced based on max HP, up to a maximum of 20/25/30/35/40%. (This is just a general good effect that any dps unit want, however they lose out on damage again for this, however for Arlan who doesn't have much going for them, being able to spam their ult is a way to fight the powercreep they face.) Due to the hp requirement Firefly would only be able to make use of it during her base form and lose any use for it, Yunli might be able to use it to spam her ult however it demands her to get low which would waste turns, blade would be able to reliably use this however they lose out again on a bunch of atk from their own lightcone for simple survivability making it inefficient for them. Lastly, what he needs to make sure he get's used. - Increase the wearers speed by 1% for every HP percentage reguded based on max HP, up to maximum of 40/50/60/70/80%. Firefly can only make use of this in base, Yunli and clara have no use for this and blade doesn't gain anything from this as he loses out on being hit. This light cone is specific to Arlan now. Only he can make use of the first point reliably without losing anything and achieve his ideal hp point sooner. Where he makes up for his single target nature by being able to attack a lot and quickly and thanks to his energy regeneration spam his ultimate. He still suffers from the major flaws though, that he doesn't have ways to fight debuff, specially crowd control, that his still high risk high reward since he still has no consistent and reliable way to recover hp outside of killing and his damage is sad on the first turn This makes his skill vastly more reliable and the highlight of the unit the unit with the ult being an excellent addition to his arsenal to deal with low hp side units. as he can then keep himself at the 20% range necessary for max damage buff. This also makes him more in line with other destruction units, firefly has an action advance and huge speed buff, jingliu get an action advance, yunli, clara, blade, Xuyi all have follow up attacks. Only Misha, hook and physical trailblazer would be the exception (though they too need their own light cones) Conversely you could do the opposite and buff his damage by buffing atk instead of speed, which still eliminates blade due to his hp scaling and firefly due to her healing and fixes arlan low damage, but making him more reliant on speed tuning and action advance unit instead making his numbers bigger but at higher risk since his at low hp longer and that version could be more useful for blade who could then deal more damage at low hp.
I really want HP sacrifice to make a comeback. I think that properly supporting it so that at peak performance it's unequivocally the strongest archetype in damage output would be fair because in an ideal scenario you have to juggle real risks to get great rewards. There would be a very real chance that a less skilled player just dies while chasing the damage because they mismanaged their HP. It's a fantastic thing to have in strategic gameplay. I also thought break was more fun when we were building specific as dedicated breakers for certain scenarios instead of building a whole team with break, because there was more of that strategy element with managing toughness to always get your breaker lined up. That hasn't completely disappeared, but it's more of a minmax than a requirement for one of your characters. I digress. Bring back HP sacrifice, Mihoyo. Damage is unavoidable in this game, you need to heal, shield, or take it. There will be no dodge master Hu Tao players at 1 HP.
Pretty sure he would change path like march 7th. They'll just be doing the astral express for now, but soon all the herta's station residence would probably get a new version/path change
The only one who can't change path is Herta, maybe element but not path. Being the Emanator of Erudition she would be the strongest at Erudition whenever she gets a 5 star version.
There are good 4★ DPS characters, though. Most aren't as universal as limited DPSs, but aren't dragging you down like Arlan. In other words, they are more suited to be invested in later rather than sooner.
I feel like EVERY character who was nerfed between beta and release was nerfed needlessly and unfairly. like YEA do i think silverwolf NEEDED to DOUBLE as a break dps? no... do i think it would have made her "too strong and break the game" HELL NO! kafka who released one patch after her is still disgustingly strong to this day! smh.. I hope they bring back her break dps stuff... OH RIGHT! uhh justice for arlan

Just make his skill blast type if he’s below half and he’s already viable honestly. Don’t really know why Hoyo didn’t do that in the first place.
