WHO IS THE BEST ELO VIOLINIST ? WHO MAKES THE BEST VIOLIN SOLO OF LIVIN' THING ? WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE ? Electric Light Orchestra - Livin' Thing (Jeff Lynne)
Hands down it is Rosie Langley. Not only is she technically the best player, she is also the most expressive. She's one of the most stunningly beautiful women to ever walk the planet as well. Drop dead gorgeous and insanely talented.
Almeno per me, affettivamente è così
I agree that there is no discussion. No one even comes close to the punch and complexity of #5, the lovely Rosie Langley. This is one of the great one liner intros of the ELO library and her's is the most compelling.
Hands down number 5, I've seen ELO live with Rosie Langley and her mastery of that song is second to none, plus the smile on her face as she does it makes it look effortless and that she's making playing a pleasure instead of a chore.
I busted my huts trying to get into Hyde park that year - just for ELO. I agree Chereene Allen for that solo performance. The BBC concert orchestra are absolutely amazing. I have seen Jeff at Wembley since.
Mik Kaminski. I saw Elo part 2 (without Jeff) here in Mexico twice, I think it was 2011 and 2012, Mik played as in the record and he was the only original member. He is the one and only.
Of course it’s Rosie Langley Number one in my book! But it would’ve been nice if they flashed the name of the various violinists on the video while they were showing them playing so we knew who they were instead of just a number But yeah Rose🌹 Langley is the one!
Mik Kaminski set the bar! When he played live there was some ad libbing to the songs. The girls play perfect covers of the studio song but its still Mik!
Rosie Langley. First time I heard it I nearly jumped out of my chair. Just spectacular. Specifically, her performance on the "Wembley or Bust" recording.
Gotta' say Rosie at #5. Her execution and tone shows off her virtuosity in just a few bars. She and her sisters are on tour with ELO. How awesome is that?
Actually Mik Kaminski was ELO's third violinist, the original was the late Steve Woolam (1970 - 1971) the second was the late Wilf Gibson (1972 - 1973). I know these two were in ELO before "Livin' Thing" was recorded, but they were both better violinists than Mik Kaminski.
It's a live show to entertain the crowd and viewers on line like myself. I would've watched everyone once, but I will continue to watch #5 Rosie Langley indefinitely. For all the reasons everyone has said including her super confident playing style, and her cute bashful smile! Her every wish is my command!
Rosie Langley is not only stunningly talented, but she's also breathtakingly beautiful. I can't pay attention to anything else whenever she performs on the screen. She gets my vote.
I think Rosie’s finger technique is vastly superior to the other four on this list. Although someone said the first guy is the one who originally recorded it and that’s true but he’s not with the band anymore and Rosie is more than capable of reproducing the song note for note. Sonically, her rendition to me is the best.
Rosie is technically the best....she's exactly what Jeff wanted for solo lead violin...someone who could hear a song, maybe for the first time and reproduce it almost perfectly, whilst still having great expression. (His current band is the same, Jeff said the first time he met them for rehearsal, they'd already learned their parts to perfection. )
I do not agree with this but Jeff said after their first rehearsal that if the band did not know who he was and he audition for them he probably would not get hired he said lucky for him it's his band LOL
You can’t challenge Mik Kaminsky until you can play the violin behind your head. There is no contest. Oh, and where can I find Violinski on a streaming service?
I've been listening to this song for 45 years. This was the song on the radio that intro'd me to ELO and I've LOVED then since. On of my absolute favs. And, frankly, all these solos are great.
The first is Godlike. The true ELO. Then I’d say the fourth and then the fifth. I brought my daughter to Vancouver and saw them 2019. It was pretty flawless and, well it’s my soundtrack to my life and my goodness it’s Jeff Lynne. That being said it would have been my perfect concert if it was the original, but with all the fullness of the present day. Like all the cool choir stuff that mainly one guy presently focuses on along with some pretty authentic flawless patches. That being said lol, I wouldn’t have changed a thing because I got to spend the time with my youngest daughter and was 13 at the time and knew Standing in the Rain was the opener before anyone in the section we were sitting in. Lol. Incredibly blessed to have passed on my adoration and love for the ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA! to my kid ❤️👍🇨🇦
lL a No 5 sin ninguna duda ....la misma belleza que tiene en su imagen es la misma que traslada al violin , resultando una conjuncion maravillosa e imborrable que no puede ser igualada.
What you said, but in the examples provided, based on that only, she was also the best. I suspect Kaminski is probably truly the best as I am sure its him you hear on the actual record but in these examples you couldn't really hear him, so #5 got my vote. Although you have to admit #3 looked pretty darn good as well and sounded a close 2nd as well.
Remember there was another violinist even before Mik Kaminski that was on the second ELO album, forgot his name but he does that great violin solo on Kuiama that will give you the chills
Honestly, I think the best violinist ELO ever had was Wilf Gibson who can be heard on the album ELO II (not to be confused with the later band ELO 2). He was only with ELO for that album and plays some killer solos on it, like on Roll Over Beethoven, From the Sun to the World and Kuiama. Very intense and emotional player. He later played violin on the hit song, Get Right Back to Where We Started From.
What are you talking about? Only Steve Woolam died. Wilf Gibson was fired by Jeff in 1973. Stop spreading false info like it’s factual. If you don’t know, don’t say anything.
Rosie Langley nails the authenticity of the original studio recording more than the others. She also imbues it with the same sort of passion originally given to the composition. (No. 5) If you're not convinced, watch the first few seconds of these too: ua-cam.com/video/KTYdFHqNEoE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Jc4g7JsbjlI/v-deo.html She really knocks it out of the park, and seemingly effortlessly.
Mik Kaminski! Because his violin is electric not acoustic. The other violinists violins didn't have electric pickups, but instead had small mikes attached to their violins, that may have a nice acoustic sound, but it doesn't come close to what Mik Kaminski has.
Mik's electric violin makes the grade because of it being a real sound. Acoustic violins are best left to play the Baroque and Classical music compositions. Acoustic violins aren't made to be played with electric guitars and drums they just don't do justice!
Hands down it is Rosie Langley. Not only is she technically the best player, she is also the most expressive. She's one of the most stunningly beautiful women to ever walk the planet as well. Drop dead gorgeous and insanely talented.
Rosie
But she isn’t actually a member of ELO. Now, only Jeff is.
Almeno per me, affettivamente è così
Oh yes I totally agree
#5 She fell from heaven when Jeff needed a violinist.
#5 Queen Rosie Langley
Mik created the sound and it's his. But Rosie #5 delivers the solo far better with expression You feel what she plays.
No. 5 !! Rosie Langley !! They are ALL VERY GOOD but Rosie puts it EASILY over the top. She's an Angel in more ways than one !!
Not even close, Rosie Langley’s version is so crisp and clean- great talent and beautiful too
Mik Kaminski. The Blue Violin.
To me it has to be the beautiful Rosie Langley. What a genius on the violin hears all her stuff in my heart.
I agree that there is no discussion. No one even comes close to the punch and complexity of #5, the lovely Rosie Langley. This is one of the great one liner intros of the ELO library and her's is the most compelling.
shes my number 1, wah wah we wah shes loverly
I agree!!! She has been the most talented of all!!!👏👏👏👏
what? she was the most simplest. she jusst play exactly the original ssong.??? Mik kaminski was much more experimentaal and improvissory
Rosie's version goes right to my sole playing live. I cannot stop hearing it. Rosie by far
Soul... sole is bottom of UR shoe...
Hands down number 5, I've seen ELO live with Rosie Langley and her mastery of that song is second to none, plus the smile on her face as she does it makes it look effortless and that she's making playing a pleasure instead of a chore.
Hands down #5 Rosie sounded and looked AMAZING 😍😍😍
Mik Kaminski. No Doubt. HE IS THE ONE. Of course I respect any musician in the ELO history. But no one sends shivers down my spine like Kaminski.
Agree with Dina..Mik Kaminski forever but number five is the most beautiful!.
Rosie Langley #5, in a heartbeat!! My God, Rosie is not only a great violinist...she's an absolute goddess!
You havent seen a goddess until you have seen Chereene Allen !
Give me the original ELO any time! Saw them in concert in the 70's, so that's my memory.
Wow! #5 who’s the super model playing this instrument - this is what you call ‘beautiful sounds’
#5, Gifted, talented, and exquisite. Breathtakingly beautiful!
Definitely Mike Kaminski the man who could play in great symphonic orchestra,no question about it!
Without a doubt Rosie (#5) has it by far, she's really into the sound ⚡
I vote for CHEREENE ALLEN, I saw her at the Hyde Park concert in 2014 with Jeff Lynne's ELO, simply amazing! She's No. 3 in the video.
and she has legs up to her ass !!!!
I busted my huts trying to get into Hyde park that year - just for ELO. I agree Chereene Allen for that solo performance. The BBC concert orchestra are absolutely amazing. I have seen Jeff at Wembley since.
So did I. She's exceptionally GREAT!
Rosie Langley is the most beautifull best violin in the history of ELO
ES UNA HERMOSURA ESE VIOLIN
Mik Kiminski...no doubt! Number 5 melts my heart with her beauty!
The strongest, cleanest tone is #4. But you can never go against the original, because he created the solo.
I agree, I actually liked #4 the best, do you know who he is?
Back in the day, Mik didn't have the advantage of the better sound mixing of more-recent concert venues, but he's my favorite. Class act!
Neither did his predecessor, Wilf Gibson.
#5 Rosie Langley. A totally different and harmonic sound 😊
Rosie Langley played so smooth on every single notes and she look so hot too!!
Casimir Carey Jr
#5 Rosie! She's the perfect combination of talent and beauty.
Even with my eyes closed, Rosie Langley. AND she's a doll !!
Mik Kaminski. I saw Elo part 2 (without Jeff) here in Mexico twice, I think it was 2011 and 2012, Mik played as in the record and he was the only original member. He is the one and only.
Number 5 of course. Her style and confidence is remarkable.
Is like she is walking in the park
mik kaminsky and his blue violin
Rosie for sure - not only is she technically magical, she adds pizzaz - concentrating so hard and then a little shuffle dance, so beautiful.
Def number 5 she s right into her playing and she brings everything and every 1 into this song
Of course it’s Rosie Langley Number one in my book!
But it would’ve been nice if they flashed the name of the various violinists on the video while they were showing them playing so we knew who they were instead of just a number
But yeah Rose🌹 Langley is the one!
Mik Kaminski set the bar! When he played live there was some ad libbing to the songs. The girls play perfect covers of the studio song but its still Mik!
Rosie Langley and her sisters on cellos...great combination. Superb musicians.
Rosie Langley. First time I heard it I nearly jumped out of my chair. Just spectacular. Specifically, her performance on the "Wembley or Bust" recording.
The Original ( ELO ) MICHAEL KAMINSKI ( # 1 )
Mik Kaminski All the way !Electric Light Orchestras best violins player from the classic line up (Eldorado to Out of the Blue)
Gotta' say Rosie at #5. Her execution and tone shows off her virtuosity in just a few bars. She and her sisters are on tour with ELO. How awesome is that?
#5 Rosie Langley! She's also very versatile! A great singer and plays other musical instruments.
#5 by far the best player for this song ever. Keep player like that please Rosie!
Mik Kaminski forever but number five is the most beautiful!
Tough one but No.3 has it on the legs !
#5 is pretty but she looks like she is so bored. #3!
The question is the best , not the most beautyful.
It 100% belongs to Mik he did it first , But Rosie just pulls it up to a haunting level of musical brilliance
It's not even close. I saw Rosie Langley (#5) last night at the LA Forum and was absolutely blown away! (Wish I could play like that!)
Rosie is not only stunning shes a virtuoso
Mick kaminsky is the Best violinist.
It’s Mik.
Damm right he is !
MIk Kaminski, he's the original and awesome. All are great, but Mik is the first.
Actually Mik Kaminski was ELO's third violinist, the original was the late Steve Woolam (1970 - 1971) the second was the late Wilf Gibson (1972 - 1973). I know these two were in ELO before
"Livin' Thing" was recorded, but they were both better violinists than Mik Kaminski.
Mik kaminski
@@davidmacgregor5193 Wilf was an amazing violinist..his solo on 'Kuiama' is a beast.
@@WildRover1964 Baba O'Riley? The solo in that song is played by the guy from East of Eden.
#5 Rosie. She not only plays the solo very well, but she puts so much emotion into the solo. She seems to feel the emotion of the song as well.
#5; Rosie Langley is best ELO violinist in my opinion, and what a black dress...
.......I didn't see a violin, but I saw the dress!
It's a live show to entertain the crowd and viewers on line like myself. I would've watched everyone once, but I will continue to watch #5 Rosie Langley indefinitely. For all the reasons everyone has said including her super confident playing style, and her cute bashful smile! Her every wish is my command!
"For I love a girl who doesn't know I exist." - Sam Cooke (Cupid)
She has it all...
The last one.
#5 Rosie, she adds so much class to the performance.
Rosie Langley is not only stunningly talented, but she's also breathtakingly beautiful. I can't pay attention to anything else whenever she performs on the screen. She gets my vote.
Rosie Langley by far! She gets into the song and you can tell by her smile body movements that she loves what she does..
Mik Kaminski who composed much of ELOs string section, the rest are just "cover acts".
Nobody can touch our loved mythical iconic legend Mik
I think Rosie’s finger technique is vastly superior to the other four on this list. Although someone said the first guy is the one who originally recorded it and that’s true but he’s not with the band anymore and Rosie is more than capable of reproducing the song note for note. #1 Mik Komansky! IMHO!
Rosie, in a runaway landslide. Awesome talent, awesome beauty!!
What a question the original of course Mike Kaminski
Rosie is technically the best....she's exactly what Jeff wanted for solo lead violin...someone who could hear a song, maybe for the first time and reproduce it almost perfectly, whilst still having great expression. Technically the best? She was just copying from the original record. So the rest of em are just copies. The best has to be #1.
No contest. No.5 Rosie Langley
Think it's pretty much unanimous across the comments
Rosie Langley is the best out of all these players. She puts her soul into it and you can hear the difference.
Not even a discussion. There's only one ELO Violinist, and that is Kaminski. As much as I respect the current ELO violin chicks, Mik is the King.
I agree !
I agree too. But Rosie is surely the most beautiful 😍
Agreed 👌
Exactly
Wenn Kaninsky die Nr.4 ist, wir er bei mir zur Nr.1
You can’t challenge Mik Kaminsky until you can play the violin behind your head. There is no contest. Oh, and where can I find Violinski on a streaming service?

Mike kaminski
#5 definitely...very smooth technique and transitions ..beautiful sustain and depth in her notes
The first violinist I heard people refer to him as VIOLINSKY back in the day.
Definitely #4 - played with great precision, power and very 'clean' sound
I think it’s Mik back in the day.

Listening live performances Rosie plays very accurate and close to studio recordings.
All good but No. 5 Rosie Langley is a hottie!
What you said, but in the examples provided, based on that only, she was also the best. Wilf Gibson. The violinist on ELO II.
Mik as the best and Rosie for talent and looks combination.♥️
Rosie!😍
#5 with out a doubt. Absolutely stunning and talented.
Hands down Num. 5, she is pretty and incredibly talented, how can you go wrong . Rosie is the real deal!
Number five. She is so beautiful!
No 5 for sure - I managed to get to Grade 5 Violin at school and have always wanted to be able to play this intro! it's just fantastic.
Just watched over and over imo Mike Kaminski had a soul touching ability. They were all fantastic...
Mick Kaminski without question
Mick Kaminski!!!
I can not only listen to the beautiful Rosie Langley all day long I can also appreciate how gorgeous she looks while playing her music, No 5

Rosie by far
When I saw Rosey Langley on the video playing the violin I stayed impress, she is a beautiful and talented woman.
My vote, Mik Kaminski

Mik kiminski without a doubt. The others no matter how good are just doing their interpretation of his original performance.
I didn't realize he used so many different violinest's??... I would say Mik Mick Kaminsky (what ever his name is, The first is always the best) ❤✌
ROSIE LANGLEYYYYYYYY
If Mik had any input in the original, he is automatically the best.
Rose langley, eres magistral además de hermosa ¡¡ Felicidades ¡¡
No. 4, no doubt at all. He's a pro through and through...his technique is flawless.
It's Got to be the original man Mick Kamanski yeah the lasses are Lovely but turn away and listen to them number one is number one
