Saw it from Lubbock, TX thru welding helmet. It appeared somewhat distorted but at times was perfectly round.

Staring directly into the sun is not damaging for your eye. I do it every day and feel great about it. It's all about when and for how long.

Saw the 2004 transit from the UK from the top of a local hill. A very pretty sight. Not as mind-blowing as the solar corona during a total eclipse, but still something that I knew I'd only get one other chance to see. In typical UK style, the days either side of the event were clear and sunny, whilst the morning itself was almost stormy. Ah well. Here I come, next transit visible in the UK!

Whoever missed it here's what you would have saw. The Sun was an Orange Circular Disc, Venus was a small round silhouette with a few other dark patches called Sunspots.

6:09 East Coast. And unless things clear up in the Philly/NJ/NYC area, we won't see squat! Crystal clear this morning only to become overcast by noon. (BRIEF glipses of sun through the cloud deck) Seriously bummed..been looking forward to this...took test shots on Sat of the sun. I have the camera, the filters, 300mm lens, 2X extender to shoot it. I'll see, still have 3 hours until it starts, roughy 5 hours until sunset.

inspirational, right so thats why i was confused and thinking this was a moon without the craters haha right,.. so the cap is filtering the brightness, but no more info on the 'ufo' ? to me it just looks like a little planet passing by or so, ..

In N. Colorado our Astro-Society- NCAS had 3 viewing groups. Fossil Crk Res. where I was, we had ~10 scopes, refractors, CAT's, Newtonian's, even a projector, which was a VERY nice view of a 6" disk. White light & H_a, & clouds, We saw 1-2 contacts, then clouds in and out most of the time, w/a wild flurry of eyes to the scope when it cleared of several minutes. Best sight, seeing Venus setting on the Rocky Mounts. in the middle of a H_a Sun! ~70 folks showed up at our 'party'. Think cosmic !!

Must be referring to the Pyramid of Kukulcan/Quetzalcoatl at Chichen Itza sun-Pleiades-zenith conjunction, that very same day May 20. The event this Pyramid was built for.
The Mayan myth says that this messiah Kukulcan, like Jesus, would return... and this astronomical event symbolizes him taking his throne on Earth, I guess.
On top of that... two separate crop circles supposedly showing the Tzolk'in/Mayan calendar, have pointed to/show May 20 2012.
Weird no matter how you look at it.

  • @beatsking386

Its today baby cant wait 4 this... 6am to 2pm I think....

  • @ne0teric
    @ne0teric 12 років тому

Yeah, idk how they got those dates out of 'em... but I do think most CC are real, yet now sure what they are saying. I have no knowledge on how to read the Tzolk'in calendar, so I can only speculate on how those dates were arrived at.... videos/articles I've seen were not too descriptive about that aspect.
Regardless... the Chichen Itza thing by itself is enough for me to be curious. NATO also meets in my city that day... so I just find everything kinda weird cause of that alone I guess.

I'm no rocket scientist. But why is his East and West in the opposite places on the diagram. You think that Nasa actually made a mistake on where the sun rises and falls. Hint: Clockwise, from the top... N, E, S, W. I'm just sayin' (Not... N, W, S, E)

You are a true representation of the mind of a scientist. But you are missing one thing though, the pride of being wrong. Admitting your mistake is highly regarded in the scientific community, and often leads to promotion. And for that I respect them.

This video made a false claim that it dangerous to stare directly into the sun, and I'm simply pointing that out. My character has nothing to do with that fact. And I don't really care if you call my life meaningless, I enjoy it all the same. Even with haters like yourself around. Good luck with your condesending attitude, I'm sure it will help you a lot.

I did go to a opthamologist, and she stated that my vision was improved. So the sun is repairing my eye, not damaging it. I find it funny that you would never have the guts to even try looking at the sun, because proving yourself wrong would be a disaster for your misplaced confidence. You whole life would fall apart, so keep living in your dream and be like you've always been, comfortably ignorant...that suits you.
