Since I pointed my students to a couple of your deep sky perspectives, everal of them have started asking for writing and science assignments based on them. Good work & thank you all!
The peak is at 5 hours UT on 4/22, so it's actually Saturday night/Sunday morning in the US that you should go out. Some meteor showers build gradually and can be productive for many nights, but the Lyrids are relatively short, active for just a few nights. The new moon is the key to making this one to go out and watch. The moonlight, while lovely on its own, can really ruin a meteor shower.
looks like you are using stellarium to show constellations, you should note that program in the description and post a link to the site and maybe NASA should donate? They do provide it for free after all!
I thought they said the zenith was overhead at midnight and so the meteors will appear to be going all directions from that one point?? Or at least that's how it looks to me at 1:45-1:48 minutes?? (well, "zenith is at it's radius, whatever...)??
So the 21st April is forecast However is it also possible to observe the meteor shower to either side of this date Just so yr not disappointed & pin all yr hopes on ONE night of 21st. Chances are good when skies are clear.. dont put all your eggs in one basket Any time you see clear skies take full advantage.. The sky at night is a delight

I always love watching this videos ! It's the third time I watch this one .
Cheers.
Thanks Nasa for the superb videos. I can´t wait to see them!
Very Cool And THANKS so much for the captioning!!
Yes, probably it said 'rises' and not being in zenith. Because that will happen around September-October.
Nice, but Lyra constellation is not on zenith on midnight these days

Did I miss "showers of sky-rockets" becoming so common that they can now be used as an analogy?
Nice vid!
JUST BREATHTAKING!!!
Will that be on Friday night or Saturday night. The 21st begins at 12:01 Saturday. Is that safe to assume? Anybody?
The NASA videos are marvellous visually and script wise but why do you (NASA) choose really ODD sounding voice-overs to deliver them?
April21st is my birthday!!
wooohooo cant wait for this !@!@!
No direction was talked about even though the man said sometimes they came from all over the sky. I guess that is the direction..
Umm...can I see the meteors from the southern hemisphere as far as Melbourne, Victoria?
