@@saralibby4686I'm obese, too. I've lost 75 pounds by changing portion sizes and taking my dog for a 20-30 minute walk every day. It took a year and a half. I have 60 pounds to go. For me, I can't think too much about the weight, but focus on how I feel. It takes a couple weeks to get to the point where you recognize your body and how it feels. They're completely new habits and I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and Degenerative Disc Disease to deal with. I make my food from scratch. I'm a vegan. (THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO BE VEGAN. My husband lost 90 pounds in 6 months by becoming vegetarian, reducing portion size, and walking. He still eats eggs and dairy except he doesn't drink a half gallon of milk every day anymore. Eat fresh foods in normal amounts. Get rid of processed food. Learn what it feels like to be physically hungry. Satisfy genuine hunger, not emotional hunger. Eat slowly. Let it take some time when you develop these habits. This isn't a get skinny fast plan, but it's a stay fit plan for the long term. You will learn to love real food. Things will change faster than you know. Just give your mind the time it needs to adjust.

Dearest Lucie, you deserve so much more attention. My whole life was about body dysmorphia, and trading one ED for another. I was just about to go down on radical calorie counting, and food fear when UA-cam recommended you to me :)

Hello Lucie. I commend you for this very honest and helpful video. Yes, eating healthy means appreciating the tastes of foods in their simpler forms: fruits, vegetables; it also means that meals might not look so glamorous on a regular weekday. Loved this video, it is not every day you see so much honesty. I hope you will consider doing more of these. It also helps to dispel the myth surrounding the "French" diet: French people are not having five-course meals every day, with a côtelette of this, a sauce of that, along with cheese and wine and crème brûlée.

Do you have a blog or video that explains about how the french eat a "variety" of food in a month? I am now following the french food pyramid-steps, actually, and run out of ideas.
I know I need to probably explore the grocery store I go to a little more but I just get so overwhelmed. I have also kind of read the julia child's book and watched her videos... 🤷.

i eat frozen fruit too but i have never thought to put frozen fruit in the microwave and i didn't even know that you can. i get some frozen fruit and wait until it has defrosted on its own and then i eat it. Does the frozen fruit loose any of its nutrition when you put it in the microwave?

I’m a really picky eater but I don’t want my baby to turn out the same. When you said that Americans have very little variety made me think why don’t I have more variety I thought they didn’t sell the same vegetables here but realize I just skip the variety and have to force myself to try new things and make sure I expose my baby a lot more different foods

I think French people are healthy because they cook with a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Your meals always have the vegetable as either the main flavor or it is a significant component. I think French people know how to make vegetables taste delicious quickly. In the US we are all told to eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables (it is supposed to be 9 a day but the US government knows people cannot even eat 5 a day so that is why they set the goal to 5 instead of 9). Many people I know probably don't even eat 1 vegetable a week:( You are always eating a lot of fiber and a lot of antioxidants and phytonutrients. I think you have a very healthy way of cooking with carbohydrates. You use whole wheat a lot of the time so it must keep you healthy. One thing I found fascinating is that you don't eat yogurt with every meal. I thought French people always eat yogurt to stay healthy in their colon? Also can you do a video on how much water you drink, they say the water in Paris has a lot of minerals and that is why people have shiny hair and nails. Do you drink 2 liters of water a day?
