Sony did change another thing: they don't market it any longer as "entry level" and the specs are way above such a claim - this spot is still held by the A7II regarding price (compared to Eos RP and Z5) and of course the A7III - which now really feels "entry level" when comparing to my new A7IV
I guess that's true of you take previous generations of the A7 into account. The A7II isn't really a great competitor against the RP and Z5 though. But hopefully the A7III price will continue to drop.
Good video. Capture One 22 for the win. Also the cfa cards will clear the stills buffer faster, just not clear on the practical difference. Sony did the same on the 6600, bought the OEM charger after (same battery).

There is a chance the media player on your tablet doesn't support 10-bit playback. Try a different app or opening it in premiere / resolve / final cut on your computer.
Can you please tell me. Why on earth when I take the card out the camera Premiere pro won't see any video files on my card but when I open Lightroom I can import photo raw files easily.
@@MsWouto Yes. The photo section goes on slot one and the video files on slot 2. Your macbook is within spec but your cable isn't ;) Most usb cables are usb 2. Apple ships multi thousand dollar macbooks with a cable that seemingly does not fit any usb spec, as it can provide nearly 100 watts of power for charging, but has only usb 2 data speeds. This surprised me a lot also when I noticed how slow the transfers were when saving photos from my camera onto my macbook with that cable 😅😅
Thanks! I have the same issue's :-). Still loving the A7IV. For photography, I use ImageEdge to export to 16bit TIFF and am able to continue with shooting (much larger files though). One thing I noticed, is that sometimes I have a vertical band in the middle of the frame, where left is less saturated and right is more saturated. I shoot HLG3 10Bit ... it happens not often but is visible... do you recognize this ? Any idea what could be the cause of this ?
As the a7IV sony never said that the a7SIII has dual base iso ... officially so your statement works also for the SIII ... and that's not because it's not true it's that sony ingeniers have to much of an high consideration of what it should be ( mostly because the dynamic range is not as close as the original base iso to be real dual base ;)
hey Wout, I've not seen any review on the wifi capabilites. With a7iii and the phone app, the control was disaster. Do you have experience if the disconnection issues are still there, is the range of the wifi control from the phone extended?
they improved the app alot imo - still not perfect for sure but when bluetooth is turned on in both my phone and the a7IV connect very fast. You can choose between 2,4 and 5ghz as well. Haven't tested the range. Though it still looses connection when you switch to your home screen, reconnecting is fast at least
Yeah it's definitely something to keep in mind. I am still holding on to my older Nikon because of this as the A7IV is currently useless to my for any photo work. Hopefully Adobe doesn't take too long to fix this.
It seems ISO 1600, 2000 and 2500 are worse than 3200; ISO 800 and 1000 are better than 3200. Between 1250, and 3200 it seems like a toss up to my eyes on UA-cam. What do you see with the original files? If you had to shoot at 1250, do you just go to 3200 or stick with 1250? Thanks!
Oh damn, I wasn't aware of that. It seemed like they were really hyping this up as a new feature on the A7S3 launch. But I guess it wan't that new after all. That is what threw me off. Still a great feature to have nonetheless.

@@MsWouto would you recommend it above the sigma 24-70? i have heard about its chromatic aberration issue and im wondering if they will fix it before release
Beautiful video , thanks for the info, does it have a built in time lapse mode that exports the result in the camera? Thanks in advance for the reply, keep up the good work👍
Regarding the USB streaming issue, you will need a capture card for streaming in 4k E.g Elgato capture card.
You forgot to mention the camera always over heats when shooting video.
Damn good tips as im new to this camera!
Regarding streaming your using the wrong cable. Dones't have enough bandwidth.
Are you sitting or standing? It’s breaking my brain.
Haha I'm sitting 😉
Oh on the USB C streaming, it has nothing to do with firmware but might actually be your cable, make sure it's at least USB-c gen 2
Awesome stuff! Keep creating for creators!
How did you get one they not shipping till dec or Jan?
I pre-ordered only a few days after the announcement. The pre-orders are currently being distributed in Europe (and Austrialia too from what I've heard), America looks to be one of the last ones to get it.
I preorder day of less than 4 hours after announcement. What country are you in perhaps released there 1st?@@MsWouto
@@dnldnl4880 I live in Belgium. I think we were one of the first to get it.
@@MsWouto very cool thanks for the replies I look forward to getting mine and continuing to shoot
some german retailers also were supplied, got mine on black friday
I'm having trouble recording in 10bit 4.2.2 on my sony a74. my sd card is v60. and I'm trying to play it on a Samsung galaxy tab s7. but it comes as a black screen. need help plz
There is a chance the media player on your tablet doesn't support 10-bit playback. Try a different app or opening it in premiere / resolve / final cut on your computer.
@@MsWouto ok many thanks. I only have a tablet 😕 and s21 ultra samsung. looks like I need a laptop 💻. thanks for letting me know
Yeah A7IV, its great to have 10bit 422 4k but do we have option to shoot 8bit 4k ?? Just when we need more storage in memory cards..
Can you please tell me. Why on earth when I take the card out the camera Premiere pro won't see any video files on my card but when I open Lightroom I can import photo raw files easily.
Are you sure you are looking in the correct folder? Sony camera's save videos and photos in different folders on your SD.
@@MsWouto Yes. The photo section goes on slot one and the video files on slot 2. Slot one with photos are opening just fine in Lightroom with the raw files but when when I open Premiere pro and put the Sd card in there Premier pro doesn't see any files as if they don't exist at all. When I import directly from the camera it works fine. How odd.
@@andreiiasi I'm not talking about the SD card slots, but the actual folder structure on the sd card itself. I believe for photos it's something like DCIM/ and videos get saved to the private/mp4root/clip/ I believe. It is possible you've told premiere to look in the wrong folder. Try navigating the SD card using your computers file explorer and see if you can find the files that way.
@@MsWouto The video files are in the CLIP FOLDER on the SD card....And when I open the CILP SECTION in PREMIERE Pro IS NOTHING THERE. When I keep the SD in the camera than I can transfer the files.
Very helpful, thank you.
Réferi g to usb streaming of course
True. I just brougt it up because I thought it is faily well known about the a7s3 within the community. I could have probably phrased it a bit better.
What about for photos & not video?
Sir when will available in india market..???
VERY important information ! thank you :)
have you tried using 4k60fps with apsc lenses?
hey Wout, I've not seen any review on the wifi capabilites.
There’s an A7R4 vs A1 video on my channel (a couple of them actually) where I go into the range of the app. Check em out. 😉
Like cause you mention the RAW thing case,
that doesnt work with lightroom yet..
Cheers!
Yeah it's definitely something to keep in mind. I am still holding on to my older Nikon because of this as the A7IV is currently useless to my for any photo work. Hopefully Adobe doesn't take too long to fix this.
@@MsWouto It works since yesterdays LR update
It seems ISO 1600, 2000 and 2500 are worse than 3200; ISO 800 and 1000 are better than 3200. Between 1250, and 3200 it seems like a toss up to my eyes on UA-cam. What do you see with the original files? If you had to shoot at 1250, do you just go to 3200 or stick with 1250? Thanks!
The Gama assist is on a7iii I use it all the time
Oh damn, I wasn't aware of that. It seemed like they were really hyping this up as a new feature on the A7S3 launch. But I guess it wan't that new after all. That is what threw me off. Still a great feature to have nonetheless.
Nice info! But fix your lighting please. Put that left orange led to direct it to wall, not at you. It shouldn't be in frame anyway. U'll spot the difference
It's so sad. The guy has decent views and a lot of comments. But subscribers are low. A lot of people should consider subscribing to him as he is sharing valuable info. He is having 70k views and 230ish comments but his subscribers are only 700. So the people who are commenting should at least consider subscribing. Great work. 👍🏻
As far as the web cam issue goes are you sure it's not a problem with your usb-c cables not being up to snuff?
You are not using the right cable for streaming like web cam. I used the one that came in the box and it works just fine.
That was my first thought too…he might not have the bandwidth on the cable he’s using. The speed of USBc/thunderbolt cables varies more than any other cable type I’ve ever used.
