what i love about this scene is that they NEVER did it the same way. if you compare this to the cast recording, and then other videos of "friendship" every time they do it slightly differently. Now THAT is talent.
Hahaha guys, maybe the reason she's not really in character is they're probably just running through the song by the piano. I don't think they're rehearsing it foreal. Just doing a quick sing-through. That's why they're just foolin' around and not really going hardcore on the acting. :P
They're so relaxed together and easy with one another - they're at the pinnacle of their game. I was kinda hoping for a little break out tap - but...'beggars and choosers' - I know which side of that line I'm on.
I went a few weeks ago and when he did the chicken dance she said something about looking like a chicken and they both lost it and couldn't stop laughing for about 3 minutes on stage it was hilarious! I wish she had come out to the stage door at the end though - apparently she goes out the front doors! Fantastic musical!
I love the little raise of the eyebrows she does at 0.44, so sweet, :) makes me chuckle-you can tell she has the entire character and relationship with others etc in her head-in the zone :). She is so good, yet so humble and donkey at the same time :) X
When I'm 81 I want to be doing this, too. I saw the preview of Young Frankenstein (off the topic, sort of) in Seattle before it headed to NYC. Mel Brooks was somewhere at the back of the house. At 80 years young, he created an entire show - wrote the music, adjusted the script, produced and directed. The Susan Stroheim choreographer was awesome. These guys teach us all how to grow old (ha!)
Just saw this show a couple days ago. And I thoroughly wish I could have taken Joel Grey home with me, he is just the cutest thing I have possibly ever seen.
Sutton's eyes widen subtly at 0:43. It's something you wouldn't be anywhere close to noticing if she were onstage, but it's just so... How can you not smile while watching this?
@bondgirl502 Ahh thankyou, yehh she's naturally beautiful but I have to say when I first saw her pictures of her as Princess Fiona then saw her as Sutton Foster I was surprised it's the same person!
Amazing. A legend and a theatre kid. Seriously, she’s good, but this is a farce. She’s a dime a dozen and he’s just Joel Grey. True legend. Literal one in a million. (Yes I know who she is, but Ethel she ain’t.)

I absolutely love Sutton's facial expressions
we saw this on a choir trip recently, and joel gray came out during a talkback and yelled "HI EVERYONE, IM JOEL GRAY!" it made my trip :)

Two awesome Broadway actors!

Part of My Life is watching this every so often. Thank you SF and JG. You make the world a better place.

(Yes I know who she is, but Ethel she ain’t.)

delicious
Du Barry Was a Lady, but now Anything Goes. Ethel Merman and Lucille Ball were so great, Sutton Foster is maybe greater!
That was a weird rendition LMAO!
@mmbr01rrf I mean: really WOW!!! heheh I
I love Sutton to death, but I feel like she's not quite giving her 'all'
Quack, quack, quack? Really?
lol
