The way the child asks it makes me think that the name shepard already means hero at that point in the future, and not just for Krogan..
I also think that etymologically "Shepard" guides sheeps (Shepherd). So Shepard guided his "sheeps" through the danger (on the way home for the Quarian, "at home" for the Turians and of course when they go to the Crucible, he unites everyone).. Or maybe that was already totally obvious and I said that for nothing XD

It’s a very hopeful and triumphant theme. It has a sense of rising, enduring, and overcoming. Hope, for the future and the willingness to fight for that future.
Even if I did not know anything about Mass Effect, the track gets across the point of rising again very well.
For me this track means freedom and hope
And lifted off a burden carried for so long...

Wain Onny You're welcomed to your opinion. For myself and many others, Mark Meer is the one who sounds terrible, with little talent in acting. I think he sounds like a robot all the time. Jennifer Hale, on the other hand, is brilliant, and is considered to be one of the best female voice actress around (really, look her up). And what does it matter whether or not her face was "based off a real face"? Feel free to find her ugly if you want. In fact, it actually doesn't make that much sense that Liara would be based on a human face model, given that she's an alien. But regardless, it really doesn't diminish the experience of the game to me. And my experience of the game as female shepard is by far superior to that of male shepard. To me, Shepard is a woman. That's the whole point of the game -- every player has his or her very own Shepard.
I couldn't possibly not cure the Krogan. Wrex and Grunt were the few characters that I knew I could get a straight answer out of. And who doesn't love an ally who can shoulder-drop a shuttle.

Priority: Tuchanka was probably my favourite part of the entire game. Eve was one of my favourite characters.
Same here, you can't forget the part where Mordin sacrifices himself to cure the krogan. That's one of the most memorable moments in a game for me, just like Legion's sacrifice to make his people free and independent
I belive that if 'a clusterfuck of a shitstorm' had one single direct polar oppostie. It would be mass effect.
There is not single best moment. only a collection of moments that can both shake you to your core and force you to weep tears of joy. It if night impossible for a MOVIE to make me shed tears, but a game? I thought it impossible. Then i found mass effect.

I wonder how people can sabotage the cure after all the stuff they've seen with Wrex and Grunt. The krogans are warriors but they are loyal to those who respect them. Fuck the salarian, they didn't support me in ME1 AND ME2 so I feel a lack of respect there.... Maybe I'm a krogan?^^
Just for the sake of Renegade achievment. I mean..i have a renegade Shep, but there's thing i can't do. He's a total asshole , but his objective his galactic peace in the end. And, definitly doom the Krogan race isn't one of the things he could do.
When you see the Krogan smiling, knowing they are finally cured....

Everytime I listen to this theme outside of the game I remember how much I cry when Mordin dies. Its an easy choice tho, I couldn't lie to Wrex and doom his entire race, and also for Mordin. He wanted so bad to help them! So however much it hurts to send him to die, I always do it.
Mordin died for a good thing. For a Future for the Krogan. He correct the misstakes.

Another sad moment for me is when (in the shore leave dlc) and Shepard wakes up after the party with all of her friends, and there is a recording from Mordin on the floor. She just stand there alone in her room listing to all interesting things Mordin is sharing on that recording. so cute and sad.

1) Reach an Impossible Desicion forced on you by your own mistakes.
2) Spend the next hour on your bed thinking through said impossible choice telling yourself its just a game...
3) Cry because you cannot bear the thought of having to kill mordin/let Wrev run the Korgan or Kill the Quarians/Geth.
4) Realize mass effect was more that just a game to you...

V Deimos I couldn't save wrex in me1 because i hadn't enough renegade or paragon points and i let the quarians die because they were the agressors. It was their fault.
***** the Geth were never "true AI's" they were just machines with a VERY broad type of programming that allowed for basic troubleshooting of problems that came up during their work...when you have that type of programming, a network that allowed them to recharge/update AND constant interaction from the Quarians they will eventually allocate some possessing power to other things in an effort to imitate their creators in anyway they can. so when that unit asked if it had a soul, the Quarians naturally responded in a way that they felt was right at the time because they were rather scared that the very thing they had made had actually became a true AI. you'll also note that in ME3 the planet Rannoch wasn't 'run-down/delipadated' as badly as it should have been after 300+ years of no one but the geth being there, so the Geth have kept the planet serviceable for all that time as well, making new parts/Geth platforms for them to use so it would also be safe to assume that the cities that housed the mainframes that the Geth used for recharging/updating would also be serviceable. there are other points i could make but i fear this is getting too long already.

Trully the best as Shepard would have said. The first time I cry over fictional characters. Never has a game touched my feelings. It was... beautiful. I hope ME4 lives up to the expectations but without the awesome characters like Tali, Garrus, Grunt, Wrex, Javik, Jack, Mordin, Legion and many more. I don't know they ARE Mass Effect for me :)

The best rpg series of all time, the best game series of all time, the best two games of all time, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. I couldn't choose between the two.

Rosstoration that is exactly why wrex en eve have to survive. They want the krogan to finally get peacefully there place in council place back. If wreav is the leader it is beter to not cure the genophage.

This ain't Grunt or Wrex's song, but I always think about them when I listen to this, like I've made them proud by curing the genophage. Heh, I'll never forget Grunt, the bravery of a warrior, with a heart of purity and the mind of an excited young man. He's truly something else. I won't forget ya big guy, it was one hell of a good time having you along.
Why can't we feel the same emotions, or have the same bonds we had playing this game anymore? What is it that we're missing to make another masterpiece like this again?

I already started with cutting time in service games and money for it. Also, concentrate on Japanese games, the still do games (mostly). Noticed that all steam games i bought on summer sales is judgment, persona 3 and 2 yakudza. Well, I suppose it's all we can do now, brother :(
Confession: The mannerisms of Wrex are extraordinarily similar to my Grandfather's, right down to the lovable lack of subtlety and concise insightfulness. He's got plenty of years left to walk this earth, but is extremely far away. More than a few times I've encountered Wrex and started thinking of him. Guess who always gets a spot in ME1 and the Citadel DLC?
Lord knows how many times I'm going through the Trilogy. I always get lazy while going through Palaven, but I keep going just to hear this song!

Wrex is well over 1000 years old (we know this because he used to fight alongside Aria, who is also close to 1000), and he's even called "old" by Grunt (I know Grunt is like, 2, but still). Even if Wrex is alive, he won't live for very long after you cure it anyway. Guess what? You cured it for Wreav, something you vowed you wouldn't do. Good fucking job.

I have a fun little confession: When I first played this game, at the part where Eve said "Know that Urdnot Bakara considers you a friend", I said "Great. Send her my regards". Then I found out that Eve *was* Bakara, and I felt like such a fucking idiot.

I played this game so many times, that once I made on purpose "all the bad choices".
Only because I wanted to see their effects.
And I think, that Eve's funeral is the most pathetic of all.
Especially this two sentences which I posted earlier.

On the whole I didn't really like the evolution of the soundtrack from a sort of blade runner-esque sci fi score of ME1 to the more generic 'epic' orchestral video game music of ME3, but this is one of the instances where it does really work.
+Liam J I completely agree. It sort of began to dumb down as the series went on. Where was the classic ost's like Noveria or spectre introduction in me3? I guess things change :/
+Liam J On the contrary, I found most of ME1's tracks to be generic sci-fi and not unique. But, even if you disliked the score's evolution, you have to admit orchestral ambience is the most successful way of creating "epic" tracks to be used in these kinds of games. Plus, Bioware has used this method in the past so its kind of a default road for them.
Coming back almost every year to listen to OST of Mass Effect and i get goosebumps every single time. what a masterpiece.

Just started replaying the series a while ago, and I killed Wrex so i could betray the Krogan this time. Just so i could what it's like in this alternate universe from my first playthrough. Now I feel like such a douche. XD
Spoiler: if you also destroyed the Genophage cure research in ME2, you can save Mordin in ME3. It's the only set of choices that allows for Mordin to survive: kill Wrex in ME1 and destroy the research in ME2.

holy crap I had no idea you could save mordin this way.
I played the whole series para and ren and when I had the option to shoot Mordin in the back (even playing PURE ren) i COULDNT DO IT. i chickened out and that was the ONLY ren option i never took in all three games. I had to go on youtube to see what happens if you sucker punch mordin.... and when i watched the video i was close to actually having watery eyes.... i mean.... even if you play the MOST badass Shep in the galaxy.... plugging Mordin.... that is just cold man, cold.
I remember shooting Mordin in the back and then I felt a wave of guilt flood over me. He should have had a more noble death than that, but I needed the Salarian military for a greater purpose

fai zion I think I did that once too, but then afterwards I though if that would only increase Salarian-Krogan hostilites but I don't think it did.
You can gain the Salarian's help through Thane... if he survives he will help the Dalatras survive! You will then gain their help!
Curing the genophage has to be one if not the best mission in all of mass effect trilogy!! this song is fantastic!! it give me chills!!!
