- Project TSX Gets BIG Rear Brakes and Camber Correction
By Aaron Gaghagen and Brian Gillespie
Last time our Project TSX got a front big brake upgrade from Fastbrakes and front adjustable camber upper control arms from K-Tuned. Well, what's good for the front is good for the back. So to bring the car back in to balance on braking we are installing much larger rotors in the rear. Since we have the TSX in the air, we're going to install some adjustable camber arms to eliminate the hot boi stance negative camber.

I'm sad this project just died and disappeared. This is the last video I can find for this build 😢
Bring back the tsx!!
Good stuff guys!
Thanks Ramon! 🤙🏽
Great content guys!
Appreciate it!
I literally just did this Fastbrakes rear BBK upgrade on my TSX last week to match my Genesis Coupe Brembo front upgrade. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Did you have to trim the dust shield? I really don't want to chop mine up if I don't have to.
Yes the manual swap. I'm patiently waiting for you guys to take on that task. I almost want you guys to use my car as the guinea pig. 😆
Coming soon!
Thank you, I love all your content. Just wish the tsx was a TL. Cause I drive a 08' model.
Many parts are interchangeable tl tsx
We have a TL project!
04 accord rear drum to disk . Needs an 88 prelude proportion valve . 35/40. Both break lines and both ex rear knuckles .. big fan . Maybe videos on civic 06-11 brum to disk. Not sure how the break system work on these civics. Please
"Junk yard olympics..." hahahha good one 👍🏻
We just want to taste victory!
I can't wait for the manual swap. I haven't seen anyone do it because it's apparently a pain so it will be cool to see. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi I looked at your video.
Very nice I would like to put some big bricks on my Honda element. What do you recommend?
Back and front.
With the RDX rotors installed, couldn’t you just mate it with RDX caliper bracket too? That way you don’t have to use an adaptor?
Link to buy part please, thank you
Will this big rear kit work on my 04 Accord . Because I want to use front Acura RL Big brake kit and front caliper so. Question can I use the RL rear caliper instead of my accord rear caliper with the rear big brake kit
Whats the link to the adapter
One of my all time favorite wheels. Did you cop them from the Prelude? :)
Nah, we have a couple sets.
You best tighten down that rear camber arm.. They are threads that are not tight fit and are prone to impact. Lock it down tight.
You never said where or what the rear rotors are associated with. What car are these rotors from
Post a link to that handy dandy camber guage please!
Well, since you said please... www.amazon.com/Hanperal-Universal-Magnetic-Camber-Alignment/dp/B01EPL6BB6
@@VTECAcademy THANK YOU.....ordered....will be delivered tomorrow!!
So what is the new braking bias now vs old bias? Honestly I've expected from you a more professional approach on this upgrade and do some bias calculation before and after.
Great vid, so what parts # for rotors and parts adopted?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 wife out of town
LOL Busted!
Sounds like TL rear rotors are an upgrade for Honda Elements?
Love the Content 😎
Could be! It's something to check out.
They are the same on the rear , stock size that is. The front TL rotors , calipers and caliper brackets are a upgrade. What I found the stock Element front pads are the same as the TL,just larger rotors. A big brake upgrade for the TL should work for the Element. Keep in mind will need to go with a larger diameter wheel for clearance. I put TL front brakes on my 06 Element. Front dust covers need bent away from the rotors a little.
@@craigwiess1656 I've actually upgraded the fronts with TSX Rotors and Calipers.
Both the rotors and calipers are larger, and clear OEM wheels 👍
I don't feel I need to upgrade the rears, but keep a lookout...just in case I happen to come across a nice bolt-on option.
@@mrmanny have found a option using 350Z rotors and calipers on the rear. An adapter for the caliper and triming the backing plate down significantly is required. That and 18 inch wheels. I used TL front rotors and calipers, the rear is stock other than slotted rotors and braided lines.
@@craigwiess1656 The 350z looks promising.
Will look into this...appreciate the info 😎
With all do respect to the grand dad's of the Vtec scene, you guys Eh...eh...uhh...and talk alik too much 😂
Need that camber gauge
It's super cheap too!

Does that mean I can upgrade my element rear brakes with bigger ones from TL?
Probably. But for a definitive answer, I would email Brian over at FastBrakes.
Will this work with the 8th civic SI?
The brakes or camber correction?
Will this work for an 09 accord coupe?
There is a different kit for that year.
What’s the point in putting larger brake rotors on a car that doesn’t have any issues locking up the wheels?
On the track, you need more thermal mass to absorb heat so you can brake harder for longer periods without heat soaking the system. It combats brake fade.
@@VTECAcademy oh ok
Which alignment shop do you guys use?
HAHAHA!!!
Was it the “wife out of town” bit?
@@VTECAcademy yup
Story doesn’t check out, we all know you are a left handed tennis player.
Btw about to get my RL Advics + Fastbrakes kit installed on my 6mt ILX, will reference parts to see if this option works on the ILX rears too, thank you 🙏
LOL Whoops!
Unless you were cooling your brakes, you just made your car heavier, slower, and added unsprung weight. Full hard parker status. Pretty lame.
Heavier by 2 pounds all 4 corners. He's not making this vehicle into a track car.
But some people like the looks of full wheel brakes and having a better braking setup altogether. All my cars have big brake setups and I'm coming up with a brembo setup for the rear of the TSX/Accords. Honda's would look good with 4 corner brembos but don't have it so we have to settle with Willwoods expensive crap. Ijs. Don't hate on the man for hard parkin it dawg.
Who hurt you?
The J series that will eventually end up in the TSX won't even notice the larger rotor mass. At least until we hit the brakes.
It is actually smart, not that much weight and more surface area. Wonder if that bracket would allow you to put on some 05-12’ Acura RL calipers (brembo)??
