  • In this video, I will guide you through the process of crafting a leather key chain using premium Italian Shell Cordovan. The stunning black marbled Shell Cordovan sourced from ROCADO offers exceptional smoothness, evenness, and a vibrant appearance.
During a previous video, I demonstrated the creation of an identical keychain using the front side of the leather. However, in this video, I wanted to explore the possibilities of the reverse side and share my thoughts with you.
What sets this tutorial apart is the exploration of the reverse side of the leather. As I share my thoughts, you'll discover the hidden beauty of this side, adding a touch of exclusivity to your leather creations. By utilizing the reverse side, you can craft exceptional leather pieces that stand out even more.

Nice work. May I know what glue do you use that you can just use the hand to apply it ? Is it strong and permanent ?

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. The glue I use in this video is actually used in shoe crafting, it's called Balco. I haven't found this glue on the Internet but it's similar to a contact cement. I bought mine from a local leather shop. In small pieces like handle loops it can hold pretty decent if you let both leathers pressed while the glue is drying. For larger pieces like a card holder and beyond, I do suggest you stitch it. However, I'm switching to a new glue which is water based called Aquilim 315 because this Balco one has a strong smell after working with it for a while. Hope it helps!

@@dagsleather Thanks for sharing. I heard of Aquilim 315. I am a bit hesitate to use water-based glue. I worry the edges will be loosen and crack after a while if the glue is not strong even it is held tight by the stitches. The keychain or wallet may not look good over time. Perhaps you may consider to share your experience of different glue you use in the near future, their strength and weakness. I do enjoy your videos and quality works.

@@journeywithin6274 Thank you for your kind words and recommendation! Yes, absolutely! I can make a video reviewing these glues including some testing and forcing the leather for some time to see how much they hold. So far the pieces I've worked with Alquilim haven't given me any trouble but I do think they need more time to see how well they really stand.
