  • Bought this from stratus website. Great car lift for low ceilings. Also I forgot to mention the fuse with the gauge is a time relay. Make sure it stands between 1 and 2. For the plug Yellow is ground wire, blue is neutral wire, brown is hot wire.
    Where I ordered the lift.

      I did order the AutoKato. The lift itself looks identical to the Stratus, but the control panel has some minor differences. Mine has worked well for me, but when ambient temperature is over 100F (I'm in Arizona) the thermal circuit breakers in the control unit sometimes trip. Once they cool down the lift works again, but the first time it happened I was a little freaked out that I wouldn't be able to get the car off the lift. In the two years I've owned it I've done a complete car restoration including engine and transmission replacement and the lift has been invaluable. I am able to drop the engine/transmission out the bottom of the car as a unit, which the open center design makes possible.

      Andrey Andreychuk I loved it until the passenger side safety lock bent when my 3700lb car was going to a locked position. The bar also dimpled from the force. My car was stuck up on the lift as a result. I had to get creative and manually lift the safety arm since it was now bowed. I still cannot believe this. So scary. My car almost dumped off the lift! I’ll take it up with Stratus tomorrow. 😡

    Like the video...question Andre...I have same lift. When I put down on locks, then press lower button it only goes up maybe 1 second then cuts out. The only way I can get off lock position is to press up until it clears lock, then press down. Seems you just press down, it goes up then down.

    • @buzzerd48

      Another thing I have run into...on the way up, right side is ahead if left. They don't click together, and even worse, when I push down the left side drops about 3 to 4 inches and car goes down crooked all the way. The higher it goes, the more uneven the two sides get. Very dangerous. Any thoughts??

    • @AndreychukAndrey

      There is an adjuster on the unit for the locks to release when you press down

    • @AndreychukAndrey
      @AndreychukAndrey  Рік тому +1

      Yes when you press down the lift will go up to release the locks and start lowering. If one lock does not release the lift will lower only one side and the car can slide off. You have to watch out. You have to listen for both locks to release.

    Hi, thank you for the post. I have couple question regarding the usage. How do yo move under the lift? Using adjustable rolling chair? I think the rolling crib can not be used because of the cross metal tubes. How unconvenient the two tubes connecting the sides regarding the movements under the car? Have you removed a transmission or a full exhaust? In case of the transmission with trasfer case (about 200kg is it possibe to move the transmission jack over the cross metal tubes without difficulties? These two metal tubes are my primary concern regarding the usage of these type of lifts.

    On their site it seems to only said ship to commercial address only. Did you have to jack it in by yourself? Or the liftgate service brought it into the garage for you? Did you have to run a dedicated circuit for it? What's the amp draw required? Would love to see this lift the big truck. 8K capacity is pretty nice.

      If you message them and tell them you found this video on UA-cam and please post a link of the video, they should be able to do something about shipping to residential address. For me they used roadrunner transportation. The driver stopped at the end of the driveway and he was nice enough to pallet it jack to the garage. I have a 20amp breaker in the garage I was able to plug it into a wall outlet and the lift works fine. They recommend having a 30amp breaker.

    I ordered the 9000 extra-wide extra high commercial-grade lift, my first time using it I lifted my Dodge Ram and when I went to lower it, only one of the two locking mechanisms disengaged, my truck preceded to lower on one side and then fall completely onto that side on the support bars. Obviously, this was a catastrophic failure, and I will say that the support did send a new lift promptly, but upon receiving it When I first used it with the bucket of my skid steer in order to test it before putting that much weight, it was doing the same thing with one lock not disengaging. This was the 9000 E, then once we resolved that problem after speaking to tech support the other problem was my skid steer weighs 8400 pounds which is under the weight capacity, I noted this to the support team before our FaceTime call, during our FaceTime they gave me every way to troubleshoot why it was incapable of lifting 8400 pounds when it is a 9000-pound lift. Unfortunately, this type of lift needs to be recessed into the ground in order to lift that weight because if it is not 12 inches (because it is 4 1/2 inches to start and needs to be raised 8 inches to take the weight) then it can't lift much of anything. I did my due diligence, I called and spoke to the owner, read all spec sheets, etc. and this is NOT mentioned anywhere and is not advertised anywhere, and really should be because after doing all of the work to modify my space to accommodate this lift, it was all for nothing because This lift cannot do what it's advertised to unless it is recessed 1 foot into the ground, at that point the 40 inches that it can go up becomes 32 inches. Making every single number that they advertise false! Also, I would like to note that trying to lift the weight of the skid steer (8,400lbs) and having the lift raised about 6 inches before starting to lift with the weight, one side of the lift (closer to the control tower) was four inches higher than the other! This happened during the facetime call while I measured on video with a tape measure! Another dangerous situation. I do not think these lifts are safe at all, and after speaking to Technical Support the second time about this lift having a similar issue to the first one, and showing all of this on facetime, their response, after me having offered to share the shipping expenses with them to send back, and pay the difference for a 12,000 lb 2 post, then accommodate that lift again by digging again to install 6'' thick cement with rebar as I did for the scissor-type lift widening it for the larger width of the 2 post lift, they were going to do this and told me how much, to which I agreed, but then suddenly they didn't have any more in stock? (Even though Richard from the company assured me one would be put aside on a recorded phone call, and the website says "in stock ships in 1 day"), they somehow didn't have anymore? Then when I found another lift from another company as an alternative, they wanted to have me pay for all of the shipping expenses and a 30% restocking fee for a lift that never functioned properly from the first time I used it! Furthermore, I had a 20-minute conversation with the owner prior to ever purchasing the first lift describing my intended use for it, and whether or not it was capable of handling it also on a recorded phone call, during which I was assured that it could handle it. Obviously, that was bad information and I could have lived with all of this and been fair in making it right, but I was not met halfway clearly, this company really does NOT stand behind their products. I am trying to depict the actual events, and facts to the best of my ability in order to inform future buyers. I only wish I had seen a review like this before my purchase. Currently, my attorney and credit card company are handling this as my efforts at an amicable resolution were futile.
