That is a nice Land Rover, I love how you put modern features on these vehicles, like the adjustable suspension, power steering, air conditioning, heated seats. Then you get the classic look and the modern comfort. Keep up the good work
Apart from the fact that it's electric (the Number 1 added feature!), I think that it looks both superb, and practical, in 'pimp mode'. It's great for access to the cabin and for the load space. Then seeing it rise like a Citroën DS before moving away adds the extra touch of cool. Thanks Richard for showing us some of its improvements.
Get rid of the ladder frame/diffs/axles,replace with a floor battery with air/sus,48volt system 250k charging.Guessing probably 4-6 years away still.... CC are doing awesome work and never rest on thier laurels 👊💪
Will you ever, or have you gotten requests to make a custom frame that could accommodate an in-frame battery pack like some factory electric vehicles? I'm thinking about the handling improvement from a low center of gravity.
Loving that and the extra leg room , also as you say high arm rest 👍👍 please please and please again can we have a question and answer session? As the biggest thing I always hear is the Insurance is high ? And how do you MOT the vehicle? Great work have a guy in the USA doing a EV conversion to his Capri and we are all watching 👍👍👍
What you call Pimp mode should be the standard road mode, it should be lower for pimp mode. Problem is the tyres will not fit inside the guards like they should.
Love the colour choice - I'm guessing it's matching the original Oslo Blue? Maybe it's just the cloudy daylight, but I much prefer this blue over the more vivid electric blues some people go with.
Dull man comment here: For a vehicle meant to draw attention to the tires, wouldn't you want one where the rear wheels match up with the wheel wells? 😇
Awesome project, and it's obvious why it's being showcased here. We need more outfits that do such fine work. Including the awesome electric conversion, but wow there is so much creativity won in such a collaboration. Umm.. those rock slider sills kinda look mandatory though, or?
One modification Land Rover has always needed is extended front doors to make them practical. Lengthen them and shorten the rear doors which can then be suicide style doors much like Mazda use
Nice build, having said that it would be helpful to some basic stats like range and power/torque. Otherwise it’s hard to know if it’s practical even for short trips.
Here’s a good episode we did on another electric Landy that covers range and long distances. ua-cam.com/video/ZC9JiBLMqbw/v-deo.htmlsi=DvssgRZbtdmJHb-2
If you're worried about weight, you should just switch to hub motors... Even though single electric motor is easier to wire, having hub motors means all the torque is delivered with minimal loss...
You guys can prob electrify LR Defenders in your sleep by now!! Is the 7-LED light in the driver's footwell a custom thing or is that on the standard issue LR too?
Front bumper and winch mount look like a poor after thought, added after the vehicle was finished. It should have been integrated into the front grille area to reduce front overhang and to keep the front face as flat as possible.
@@johnt.848 mmmmm it's a defender that's the model after the line of series landrovers that was produced where everything was bolt on and off for easy replacement/ repair or upgrade in future as it turns out..Britpart is an after production parts supplier So yes the bumper is an afterthought 😁and because the person who probably designed it would be at a good bet not born when these vehicles were designed 😆... and designed it so it was better for off road with better approach angles at the corners.. why you would want to change the whole front when you slid into a tree or rock is anyone's guess....
@@johnt.848The bumper is there to bump into things first and protect the rest of it. If it's level with the headlamps and the grill then it fails to do the job. Might as well not have a bumper.
It’s on road handling is much improved now it’s electric. Probably due to the improved weight distribution and the fact that it only adds the same weight as one passenger.
@@ElectricClassicCarsWouldn't it be better if you could get that weight under the floor instead of taking up space in the loadbed? Lower CoG, better handling and more space for otters in the back.
Front bumper really should have to have a road bumper that attaches to the front and be mandatory on roads. Yes I’m a grumpy old man, so what. You need this for serious off-roading, it has no place being the pointy end of a vehicle on the road.
So, witch mine does the elements for the batteries come from? No carbon emissions there? No children working in the mines? No natural disaster going on here? Perhaps the video would be better if you had followed the entire process. I dont know. I just want to know. And the job that you are doing is amazing. For billionaires. One of these cars would probably feed an entire family for life! So the enviroment question of what you do is interesting. I love the cars, don't make me wrong, but this is not really not helping the starving people on this planet is it.
That looks fantastic, the blue colour really pops out.
It has to be the air bags and of course the tunnel delete! Need, absolutely need these on mine!
That Defender suits you better than what yours Moggy!!!
This combination of makers has produced what LandRover should have done.
Lol no, Landrover almost had it right, this is far from perfect. Who adds carpet to a serious off road vehicle? 🤦♂
Beautiful build.
Thank you!
About to buy a 110 and this is basically a wish / shopping list!
Pimp mode might also be called kneeling mode. Helps out those that have trouble with stepping to the higher positions.
Brother
That is a sweet ride.
Bill Compton
Interior space, ride quality, vari height.
This one is a stunner!
Another cracking conversion on a Defender. I personally like the Air Ride Suspension, as well as the Corebeau seats 👍😎

Thank you very much!
Lovely looking Defender. Great video. Favorite accessory? The winch!
Thanks 👍👍
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Glad you enjoyed it
IT LOOKS GORGEOUS!
Not a car mechanic but should the wheels in the back not be in the centre of the wheel house?
Very impressive
I like the wheels the most. There're too many cars today with oversized wheels. It's nice seeing a wheel that isn't pointlessly large

Best add on. Rear camera in license plate light.
nice ride
Hey Richard. Awesome job on the truck.
Thanks 👍
I want one!
Love love love this. I'd like to know how amazing it is off-road.
Lovely jubley
rear leccy windows....brings this right in to the 21st centuary :-) but in all honesty, air-ride, so cool
Every vehicle should have rock sliders 😁
Electric windows 👍
Can we have a Top Gear type programme but with just electric cars maybe a Hybrid or 2? and you can present it Moggy.
Moggy Clarkson 😂
Cheers guys 🍻
Will you ever, or have you gotten requests to make a custom frame that could accommodate an in-frame battery pack like some factory electric vehicles? I'm thinking about the handling improvement from a low center of gravity.
Yes, but the challenge is fitting it into an appropriate space under the car without compromising ground clearance.
ACES 👍

Nifty work with moving the odd spare wheel around😂

Fantastic vehicle, but for all the black accents around the car, they missed a trick not painting the wheel arches black as well.
can u move the steering wheel towards the middle …my arm is fed up with only being comfortable with window open
When I win the lotto, I'm going to call you to order one lol.
As usual a brill electric conversion. As for Britpart, it makes you wonder.
Great looking truck the latest Michelin airless tyres would really make it look special.

Why aren't the wheels centered in the body openings? The rear wheels are forward and the front wheels are back. Looks bad from the side.

I'm seriously looking into converting my 110 double cab to EV. What is the cost of the kit with assemble and how long does it take?
Definitely need a electric kit for my l322... 😮😅.. Best bit is the front bumper for me I think... stay safe 🏴

Depends on what generation you talk to about how do you call that fully loaded My Generation says it's got all the bells and whistles.
Air bag suspension pretty good but how long until the auto levelling system stuffs up. That is the Q?
Is that a Ford blue?
can it drive through flood water
Of course, wouldn’t be much of a Land Rover if it couldn’t. 😉👍
How much is this kit?
2:50 Yes
rear camera...no brainer!
