N⚪︎Kの夜7時のニュースを一年ほど副音声(英語)にして聞いてました！
あとは好きな英語の曲(99%Mili)を聴きまくってノリノリで歌うという荒技ですね……歌えるようになった後は英単語がすんなり聞き取れるようになりました！
The more you look at the artwork, the more unsettling it gets. She's missing her left eye, cuts on her chest, bloodied knives, someone drowning, her legs twisted into a mermaid tail. Besides all of that, this song blew me away like the rest.
Also, her hand, heart, brain and the knife.
There are also bloody bandages on her head, her missing body parts hanging around and an extra hand.
Besides all of that? That's literally the song.
if you listen to the lyrics, thats just what she looks like after the events of the song.
Her hair is also missing. She is probably bald by now as the "hair" she has is just bubbles and soap and underneath it is bandages. Just a speculation though.

is it saying like someone is so "blindly in love" with someone but they show no love back to them so they are just destroying themselves and in the end the other person just leaves them?
Just someone doing everything they could so that their love is noticed, to the point of painfully shaping themselves to fit that person's ideals. But it didn't work.

밀리를 처음 알게 되었을 때 이 노래 분위기와 목소리에 반해버리고 '세상에 이게뭐야 대박이다 이쁘다' 하고 가사를 보니 취향 정중앙에 꽂혀서 팬이 되었습니다.
조곤조곤하게 자기의 모든 부분을 주겠다는 걸 장기 하나하나와 세포 하나하나, 특히 다리를 틀어서 꼬리를 만든다는 부분은 진짜 들을수록 너무 대박 아닌가.....

これって、もしかして臓器移植（transplant)と、そのドナー（organ donor)の視点で語られた歌なのかな。
自分の臓器（いのち）と相手の侵された臓器（いのち）を交換して生まれ変わる、って意味なのかも。
ピンセットやトゲ抜きが手術器具で、冒頭と最後の方は手術中のドナーの心情という気がする。
そして、イラストの全体像を見ると、バスタブが移植先の相手の身体で、そのバスタブ（からだ）の中で相手と共に生き続ける、って感じだと思う。
歌の終わりに近付くにつれて、ドナーである彼女が最後を迎える瞬間への覚悟が感じられて、切ないながらも命に関する強い想いと愛が伝わってきました。
面白い解釈ですね。
私は"to hear all the siren"という歌詞のsirenが神話のセイレーンだけではなく救急車のサイレンも意味するのではないかと思いました。おもしろいけどとんでもない解釈だと思っていましたが臓器移植の解釈と一緒に編んでみるとある程度話になるようですね。
その解釈を見た上でイラストを見ると、サンゴのように見えるものが血管を表しているようにも思えてきました。
恋が盲目にするならもう見る必要がない、私の代わりにと言っているので大切な人の病気か何かのために、臓器提供をと自ら死をえらんでしまったのでしょうか…？
とても考察が興味深く、歌声の物語のなかに居るような感覚と相まって何度も聴いてしまいます。
背景のタイルが細胞、サンゴが神経に見えました…

儚さとかわいらしさと美しさが合わさった、まるでシャボン玉のような柔らかで透き通った歌声。
透き通るような美しさと悲痛な雰囲気を感じさせるメロディー。
言葉選びにセンスがあり、語られている情景が美しくも不穏な歌詞。
パステルでかわいらしい色づかいなのに、よく見ると、足が捻れてたりする実は不穏なイラスト。
この全てがあるからこそ、この曲は素晴らしいんだな、と思います。

She is leaving behind her humanity/true self (erased my footprints) and choosing to live her life as a "mermaid" (picked up broken scales, stuck them to my tail), which is a metaphor for something her abuser likes / wants. She is willing to change, be it physically or personality-wise, for them.
"If love truly makes you blind
Then I guess
There is no need (There is no need to see)
I'll trade my eyes
So you can see for me"
This statement speaks for itself; she is blinded by love. In this case, she thinks that her abuser knows what is best for her, so she "trades her eyes" to them so they can "see for her" and essentially control everything she does.

Embrace your bubbles, your fluids
And keep you warm

Embrace your membranes, your bones
And keep you cool"
The speaker loves her abuser and is willing to accept them and all of their baggage. She will "embrace" all of their bad parts, but will try to see past them in favor of their good.

Squeeze out your evil, your grim and your woe"
I see this part as a metaphor for "squeezing out" all of the bad in her abuser. She's experiencing a form of Florence Nightingale/Nursemaid syndrome; she thinks she can change them and make them better than how they used to be. Regardless of how much "evil" she "squeezes out", her abuser is never going to change.
"Reborn, Reform
Twist my legs to one and mind to none"
She is undergoing her "transformation" from who she used to be into the "mermaid" I discussed earlier. The "twist my legs to one" isn't literal in this case, rather making it sound more like she's turning into an actual mermaid. But her mind being "twisted to none" is VERY literal. She loves her abuser so much that she is literally ignoring all common sense; any sense of danger or toxicity in this person she is ignoring. She's "blinded" by her love for them.
"Touch me touch me
Kiss me to sleep
Cut me open and give me gills
So I can breathe"
The stark contrast between the softness of "touch me...kiss me to sleep" and the raw gore of "cut me open" is important. She's living in a fantasy where she sees her abuser as soft, gentle, and loving no matter what. Even if they "cut [her] open", literal or not, she sees it as a way for her to "breathe".
"With tweezers and nippers
Trim off my fins
And forever I'll be yours
I won't fight or make you cry"
She's allowing her abuser to "trim off her fins", which is similar to the metaphor "clipping my wings". It means that her abuser now has full control over her and where she goes. She won't fight them on this, either. She may just see it as her abuser being "protective" and "wanting what is best for her", but instead it's a manipulative way to keep her in line.
*Now there are TWO ways I interpreted the ending to this song

Despite all of the hurt she's gone through, despite everything she's already given up, she is still willing to stick by her abuser because she loves them. She'll keep giving and giving, but her abuser will never give anything in return.

She's hopeful that by her being there, her abuser's "chest can be filled" and that they can "learn to love" and change from their abusive ways, like what she's wanted all along.

If she's covered in the "scars" from giving everything she had to her abuser, she hopes that her abuser will be grateful and change for the better.
"Kiss me kiss me
Don't leave me be
I'm a bathtub mermaid
I cannot swim but only sing"
Our speaker is afraid of abandonment. She's been clinging onto her abuser because she is afraid of being left alone; she would rather have somebody that treats her horribly than nobody at all. She "cannot swim", meaning that she can't do anything her abuser doesn't allow her to do (see back to "trim off my fins"), but she can still "sing". She can entertain her abuser, keeping them company and giving them someone to manipulate.

The speaker has given everything she had to her abuser, and in the end, she was manipulated and they ended up killing her. With her "eyes", they can see all of her blood. With her "ears", they hear the police sirens approaching; someone else has heard the attack and has called the police, or the abuser has called themselves.

The abuser has thrown the speaker's body into the bathtub, perhaps staging it to look like a suicide by slitting her wrists.
"Just pull the plug
Flush down all our memories
Into the sea"
I believe the "just pull the plug" line is a sort of pseudo-metaphor for death. In a hospital, if somebody is on life support and asks you to "pull the plug", they know that that plug being pulled will kill them. (Probably not EXACTLY what Mili was going for but that's what I pulled from it.) The "pull the plug" line ALSO works as a metaphor for the end of a relationship. The abuser, now faced with the death of their victim, is forced to "pull the plug" on their toxic relationship and watch as all of their memories with their victim are "flushed into the sea".

TLDR: This song is deep... neat song.
I think the lyrics represent someone who would become another being for her unrequited love just so they could love her back. She sacrificed her brain so they could "learn how to love", her eyes so they could see the colors, her heart to fill the emptiness in their chest, and her ear so they could hear the sirens of what i suppose is the ambulance coming to attempt to rescue her from her unavoidable death. She even said "Reborn, reform, twist my legs to one and mind to none" implying she would even become a mythical creature for the sole purpose of receiving their love. Unfortunately, it was all in vain as she's literally begging them to cut her to the point of getting deep scars and wishing for their memories to be flushed in to the sea. I think that would mean that she wants to either have him forget everything and then start over, or just to only think of her. Very sad song, but its nice. If you read this entire thing, congrats to you, you get a cookie.

cover picture of this song seems beautiful, but look close. there are brain, heart, and eyes in the water and mermaid on the center seems dead or going to die. I think this song as 'sacrifice mermaid herself for her love'. it's quite ironic, because some myth are telling us that mermaids are to beautiful. and they make people go into sea and drawn. it might be related to a story about mermaid that loves Prince so much and to achieve that love, she trade with witch and earn legs to go out to sea.
anyway, project mili's songs' atmosphere always bright although the lyric is dark. their songs have story, I don't know well, but their songs are related each others.

I’ve analyzed the lyrics to hell and back here’s my interpretation:
To me, this song is about someone so blinded by love that they don’t see it’s destroying them. Every thought and action is consumed by an obsession with this relationship that’s tearing their sense of self shreds; twisting and moulding their identity to fit the desires of their lover, until all that they have left of their original self is the love for the person that set their spiral into motion. Giving them everything they want until there’s nothing left to give, conforming until they’re unrecognizable, leaving them with nothing to call their own except for the other person. Embracing the abuse, as it’s the only time they’re made to feel significant enough to be given attention.
Their attempts to be seen increasing in desperation to the point that they resort to self destruction as a means to garner any attention, let alone affection. They can’t pull the plug for themselves so they’re just hopelessly sinking deeper, waiting for the other side to return them love, attention, or possibly even mercy in the form of a separation they aren’t strong enough to assert for themselves.
And all of this for a person who didn’t even care enough to learn how to love.

Not me just realizing the artwork matches the lyrics like when she says "ill give you my eyes so you can see for me" (or something like that) she has an eyepatch on in the background, and when she says "cut me open and give me gills so i can breathe" her chest is cut in the art

I feel like this is almsot like the Little Mermaid. The girl makes deals and trades multiple things with the witch in order for the boy to love her, but in the end he doesn't. I remember that the girl turned to sea foam after she refused to kill the prince. All in all though, I know this is pretty much about a one sided relationship of someone willing to do anything for their partner, but their partner does nothing for them.

Akuseru2K I’m literally considering this. I’ve never considered this before-but after listening to only this song for two weeks at around 5 times a day, my “obsession” is telling me to do so.
I’ll admit: it isn’t a perfect song. Some of the lyrics could be more less “engrish”-like, but... who fucking cares??! The song is 12/10 genius-beautiful, and I’ve taken up piano again because of this damn song.... Good fucking grief, how does someone get this inspired to combine so many genres from the old AND new to make something like this?!

this song is barely a love song. quite the contrary, actually
its about a girl who changes herself, gives everything, and in return gets nothing from the man that she loves. she desperately wants him to love her back. he doesn't care about her at all and it's usually implied both heavily and vaguely at times
"and then I gave you my heart, to fill in the emptiness in your chest. and then I gave you my brain, so you could learn to love" (implying he doesn't love her, or is just an emotionless husk of a person altogether)
"transform myself, once and for all" "reborn, reform" (implying she wants to change herself so that the man will love her)
"if im covered in scars, will you look at me?" (implying he doesn't pay attention to her or shuns her for her appearance and/or her personality or obsession with him altogether)
she convinces herself that being with him is going to be possible, and that he will love her too. she goes to such extents that assures her that it means he HAS to love her after everything she does for him.
it's a very sad and dark song if you go in depth. the man is horrible to her, but she wants love and attention; she has chosen him to be the one that provides said love and attention, going beyond her limits just so she can feel appreciated and acknowledged. she pledges herself to him to insistently. so desperately. she's lost all train of thought and lacks common sense, being literally BLINDED by this love she has invented.

That's one way of looking at it. For me, I've seen the implied "man" you refer to as much more of an abstracted figure. Perhaps just a generalized idea of the "other" of those outside of you, and maybe even yourself standing over your body which you've become so alienated from and feel is so inhuman you cut it up and trap it and destroy it.
As a trans person, this song speaks really intensely to my experience of feeling terrified of and alienated from my body...and while those experiences have been translated onto my experience of romance and sexuality (the line "if I am covered in scars will you look at me" being an especially relevant line to that...that sense of self-disgust leading me to looking for an impossible salvation), that's not how I primarily understand it.
Going through the lines you analyzed, if we understand the subject as completely dysphoric, the "giving up" of the body to "you" can be seen both as giving them to oneself (as a subject looking at one's own bathtub mermaid body) or just giving them away the world so you don't have to deal with their presence in your life (you don't really want to see, or think, or breath...because those things all reminds you of this body you have so much disgust for). The man is never explicitly "horrible" to her, he's barely present, she has destroyed her own body, and her love is cloying and toxic and destructive...I do like your line about this "love she has invented" though, because that really speaks to the artificiality and invention of the whole framework. She created a body that couldn't move or see or feel through her generalized feelings of disgust while kind of projecting the blame onto the world around her...begging it to pull the plug as she wallows away.
I think this reading is more convincing than a straightforward broken idea of an individual love (love exists as a kind of complex matrix of one's relationship to the world around one and oneself) because the whole album of miracle milk is so obsessed with these broken bodies, with creation and artificiality of love, and most of all with searches for redemption as an attempt to stave off extreme bodily alienation...all the ideas of consumption (vore) and decaying bodies in a sexualized sense I think speaks so intensely to the idea of love and understand of the world as mediated through dysphoria.

To me, the background starts of with a pretty one, but the more you look carefully, its VERY dark. The first time I noticed her tail, It was actually her legs, TWISTED into a tail. Her left eye, is missing, theres a cut in her chest, bloodied knives, A BEAIN in the water with a HEART, and a hand...? I think the hand is a person drowning. So, in short, the more you look at it, the darker it gets.

This is a really pretty song !! and I feel like I’d think to give my interpretation (though I wouldn’t say this is the only one, since there are a lot of other good ones in this comment section)
I think it’s about someone who gives so much to someone else expecting to be loved.
It’s safe to assume this attraction is one-sided, and everything that the singer does or says in terms of the other person is unreliable since we are aware of their obsession.
My best guess is that these two people are in an unhealthy relationship due to one having such an obsession that they have manipulated the other into that relationship (i.e. proclaims they colored this persons world, gave them their ears, and filled up “the emptiness” in their chest) as well as using every tactic that would seem alluring to someone who wants a perfect relationship (“I won’t fight or make you cry”)
However none of these tactics are seeming to work, so they resort to threatening harm to themselves (even asking the person to do it) just so they have the attention of the other person.
It can be assumed the person who is being asked these things is wanting to leave the relationship due to the repetition of the lyrics to keep them there.
Though, it’s all mostly speculation, and I consider this a hanahaki type thing where it’s a tragedy, but not really the fault of the person who’s not reciprocating the feelings.
