I always thought the tank said "Rose eden!", until my younger brother heard me repeat it and he burst out in uncontrollable laughter. He thought I said "Rose Eating". Turns out the actual words are "Proceeding" XD
As mentioned already, for me my favorite part of the whole track is 1:50-2:37. This short part really reminds me of the 90s and it is in perfect style. This game has a special place in my heart being a 7 year old when it came out. Memories of getting up to play before school and getting home for the weekend meant playing starcraft, diablo, warcraft, return to castle wolfenstein, medal of honor series, and of course playing on the N64 :)
This game has to be one of my favorites of all time. Great soundtrack and so many great memories of battling it out all the way until 4am. Seriously cannot thank Blizzard enough and although they aren't what they used to be, this game has a special place in my heart.
That's what I thought too. Alien was the first horror movie I was allowed to watch at the time when I was playing StarCraft as a kid. This similarity just clicked now. That sequence is so awesome despite it's simplicity, so nicely done indeed.
+Undisputednorgannon some people say more casual. I don't agree. The new hots map should have this song (remixed slightly) as background music and I'm looking forward to playing that new map for this reason =)

There’s almost no similarities which is why GW lost the IP lawsuit. Power armor is about it, and both IPs heavily borrow concepts like that from the Starship Troopers novel which is why they have so much in common. There are vast differences between Terran marines vs. space marines, sc psionics vs. warpcraft, Protoss originally conceived of being an all mechanical race vs. eldar (space elves concept GW thinks they invented but they didn’t)
Over 20 years later I´m still hooked on to the world they created... and the characters... amazing, fantastic... just genuine! The best years of Blizzard Entertainment! Sad about how different the company is now since everything with Warcraft of different kinds begun.
One of the amazing elements of Starcraft was the fog of war. Not being able to see beyond your base created a sense of mystery and some times dread. And this music further amped that experience. Always trying to prepare for the unknown but at the same time slowly performing new discoveries which you would adjust your economy to. Brilliant game.

Terran Mission 4 - The Jacobs Installation That's when you first heard this track, and it made the whole covert insertion kill team vibe so much better in those first few moments.
I'm Far Cry fan. Far Cry 1's unofficial standalone mod "Anti Terror" used this music as a menu theme. Today I found that this music belong to Starcraft after 15 years!
This soundtrack captures the ecence of sci fi, dark, futuristic, heroic and epic kind of feel. With SC2 the sci fi and futuristic feel is not there. God... This is my childhood.
I disagree, it doesn't really need to be futuristic, the music can still be "earthly", true to their origin rock kind of style and I think it fits perfectly, however the whole game and soundtrack is indeed way less dark which could be seen as a loss... still fits extremely well IN sc2 and I really enjoy it. The dark part is lost but overall I actually enjoy the sc2 ost more.
