This video was truly helpful and as a Trini-American it’s meaningful. When I was younger, I never really knew how to speak Trini and I was confused whenever my parents and extended family used it. Sometimes I tried using it with my family, but it just came out as improper English to them. So thank you for teaching me how to use it properly

(There is a very clean and precise answer, if u can figure it out. It isn't just random chance, if I say "look at de ting ovah dere", you would *never* say "look at tee ding ovah tere")

Of course or history is connected to how we speak. from our saying to how we speak, I remember saying "yeah wei" when I was younger, A sure throw back to French. To the words we use like Fete and Jouvert. Unfortunate this video was not about that.

We might also say, for that same interpretation, "Deh have mo' in de mortar than de pestle!" (There's more on that situation that you think.) Question: What do Trinidadians say in the latter instance?

If it was me and someone else the convo would go like:
"Yuh goin by de grocery today owah?"
    "Nah. Yuh needed someting or?"
    "Nah doh boddah"
