Just brilliant! Really great presenters and for me as someone who sometimes works with patients with vocal problems this is something I will be showing my students if no one else. Big thumbs up 👍🏻
My wife works at Pentax Medical, the company that makes that fine equipment! Their headquarters is in Montvale, New Jersey, USA - about 30 miles west of New York City. Over the past 40 years I've seen the amazing diagnostic equipment they have developed, but nothing compares to the videos this equipment can make. Adele (the Brit singer) was diagnosed using it a few years ago.
Wow that was actually fucking awesome, like, his throat was like it was dancing to the music he was making, but it was also making it Hands down probably one of the most uncomfortable ways to make music, but I'd watch the in-throat recording over any music video, like the trumpet part was pretty damn incredible
How fascinating this is!!! I'm not particularly into beatboxing but I can appreciate the work that he has put into it and how Brave he is for showing us all how it works in it and letting a tube they put in his nose and throat to show us what it looks like and how it all works Weird Science at its best and damn he's pretty good-looking too!
I was watching this thinking it was an old video. I looked at the date and was like wow this is from today. I was just looking at one of his old tedx vids before this was recommended.
I don't know how, but I just watched the last video and some how I never managed to see it for the 5-6 years it's been up and SOME HOW managed to see it just in time to watch it's sequal the day it came out... UA-cam recommend works in very odd ways. Edit: Just wanted to fix some errors
Wow this is amazing!!! I'm considering getting my 5yr old beatboxing lessons as he is constantly making beats and music and rhythms. Would it damage his chords due to his young age or would you encourage him to follow his interest???
Left side of the brain wants the magician to reveal his secret; afterwards, the right side of the brain wishes he had not spoiled the wonder of the performance.
I’ll go first I’m known as USB or Urbanstreetbox on stage and streets all over USA. I have been making music on a budget all my life. I don’t have a strong web presence, but have a strong network that knows my ability, and more importantly my cheerful disposition. I play multiple instruments, read and write both clefs, well versed in big apps with small tech, and have worked/designed really fun projects like improvised comedy shows with freestyle Rap set to my vocal soundtrack, curated and ran many an open mic in different large cities like Boston-NYC-MPLS etc, and excel at using “Jedi mind tricks” to bring performers I work with to the next level without their knowledge and in live scenarios. So let me know who you are and what u about!!! Let’s connect! Google me “Urbanstreetbox” and let’s have fun getting to know each other!!
I think it triggers something deep in our minds that says "Hey, that's supposed to be on the inside" and that repulses us to get away from a possibly dangerous situation.
FifthHorseman23: Makes sense. But still- I like seeing the insides of things. Cars, computers... people I guess. (lol) It just demystifies these complicated things that make the world run, and that’s empowering. For me. Maybe you? Definitely me, heh. 🤗
@@ShePudding Definitely me too. I just mean to say that we all have something inside that instinctively identifies things like that and label them as dangerous because anything that can reveal internal organs must do damage to those humans. I'm sure many of us can at least partially override that instinct. Maybe with curiousity?
Truly impressive this guy can do all this awesome beatboxing with that thing up his nose and throat
Great job! Dear Mathew, I would like to see this on Mongolian Throat singers.
I think that's what he does from 13:16
Also, we would like to see this on six octave singer Dimash, from Kazakhstan, because he has a nickname "alien".
We do want to see it on Mongolian Throat singers. It's interesting
Dear Dr.Mathew, we would like to invite to work on Mongolian Throat singers.
Yes please!
Love his last presentation 5 years ago. He looks older now. Dem. Excellent presentation Tom
Why does he look older??
@@chillaxer8273 because he aged 5 years

Those are hella expensive too, so im glad its being put to good use.
They are like 120 dollars, not expensive at all
MsTL3N_x expensive is subjective
@@sko3925 They cost a couple of thousand of dollars just for the scope, not including the other equipment. I don't know what planet you live on.

It was soo satisfying when he finally removed the camera from his nose!!
xD
Video is extremely awesome
But really I wasn't able to look at the inner view of throat much 🤢 It seems really weird.
Btw Love you Tom...
Yeah the brain is wired to be disgusted by any view of the inside of the body... cause usually that's a really bad sign.
WOW! Excellent presentation! Fascinating!
I love his voice. So amazing
Too fascinated to be grossed out OuO
All jokes aside, that’s a hot man

so your throat just *vibrates* ?

the vocal folds open and close together then place and manner make them into specific sounds :)

That vocal chords video could just be a music video on its own.
Now we need someone to analyze that and explain how it works.

Some things are better left a mystery

wow, very interesting
How fascinating O w O
Oof I've had to be scoped to check for vocal nodules before. It is quite uncomfortable D:
fantastic. :)

When i seen his vocal cords i kept thinking of Predator for some reason...
Why do I ever need to know this?
