Brilliant. Love it. Right engine help. Was in trade year's ago. I used Birkenhead engine exchange in wirral. They do all work in house, never had a problem and they have been trading many years. Give them a call 👍.
Been an interesting series to watch so far. Very well done! I bought an Amazon one and a half years ago or so. It has so far been mostly solid, but the sills seem a bit suspect on my car. Both sides have been replaced at some point, but on the right side it does have two edges on the underside, indicating it is overlaid on the old one. Unfortunately this is beyond my skill to repair, so saved up money to have it, hopefully, professionally repaired at a shop soon. Hoping I can sleep better at night knowing any potentially hidden secrets are dealt with and not festering further.
This is a really good project - well done. The B18 is a really robust motor, you might try just honing the bores yourself and putting it back together with some new piston rings and big end shells, it might well just work.
Hey thanks! I have heard its a robust lump, I plan to do the bare minimum really to retain the original side of the car as much possible, for now we will crack on with the body work.
another interesting vid on the Amazon, was watching a episode of "Bangers and Cash" which had two Amazon's for sale. One was an E reg which was fairly knocked about and went for £1.800 and the other was a one family owned from new in absolute lovely condition which I think from memory fetch between £10 -£12 thousand, so looking forward to seeing your one on its journey
dunrite engeneering in warrington by M&M;s. i saw a volvo 4wd? with a trailer on with a brown volvo 340 about 4:45 maybe tuesday on the runcorn express way lol
Thanks buddy I will add it to list of people to ask about for work. Yes that would have been correct it left me around 16:00. Off to congleton to it’s new home.
@@SimpsonsClassics I was going to use them for the GT engine but they don't do gearboxes so went with Jim. They have a big workshop and looks like they do all their own machining
If there is any rot in the front foot wells then you must check the chassis members that run down the bulkhead,.dirt and debris collects ,stays wet and rots the floor.
Cheers thanks for the tips! I have had a good look around those areas and it seems to be in good shape. Loads of treatments and protection products needed in the future. 👍
Thanks for another interesting video. Is the black coating on the repair panel the type that you can paint over, or do you need to wire brush it off before the primer ? Greasy Fingers says in his videos that there are two different types.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it. On the classic mini panels the heritage ones the e-coating is really decent but after market ones it’s dreadful. Depends on the brand but I remove anything I can and put a better panel on. These panels come with a light zinc coating which is a decent.
Try a fellow youtuber Barum engines. Lee is a really nice bloke & you might be able to collaborate with him. He has done it before with George Austers.
I'm restoring my 69 121 on youtube, If you need engine stuff and a fully done cilinder head you could send TinusTuning a message. Dutch man wich is just the Master of volvo redblock engines. he has fully one heads ready on the shelf. Great build, keep up the work

This car sat since 1978, That is when I had my 122s 1964 white paint red interior. The standard engine went 100mph was good enough for me.
Yes they are a great engine as a standard car, I am excited to carry on with this and get the body work straight 👍
Loved the video. Not my favourite car but each to their own
Glad you enjoyed it buddy appreciate you watching all the same

Not that you need another mini but there is a Morris Mini project for sale in Belfast at 3k. I recall you interest from the museum video.
