Really cool tip! I was manually doing this with warping but I think your way looks better. I also looked for a reversible option but I didn't find much. However, if you copy and paste the text itself, it will go back to its original form. To clarify, this is copying the actual letters by selecting them with the text tool, NOT copying the entire Text object itself (the latter will copy all the transforms, too).
OMG love you so much, I had to figure out this really quick for school, i was like struggling for 15 on this and then u came as a flying angel. I know im super extra about this rn but I'm super happy.
Hi :) I believe if you go with the text selected to: Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform And set the anchor point to the bottom left, you can play with the rotation angle. The effect will be in the Appearance Panel and the text still editable
Love Good Mythical Morning! So I stumbled onto this video (great by the way, love your vibe) for obvious, slanted text reasons but because you mentioned Good Mythical Morning I was like op! He's a real one and I need to subscribe. haha
Thanks for the tip man! To remove the shear, I think I would only cut the text (Cmd or Ctrl + X), delete the empty text block, click somewhere else and paste the text back.
You can do something in the Appearance panel to get this effect. Take the text and key it in. Go to the Effects option at the bottom of the Appearance panel and select Distort & Transform > Free Distort. You can then select the corners of the bounding box and move things up or down and around. Once you're done, it's created.
Have you figured this out with text on a wavy path? I've been trying this technique and it just doesn't look right, I'm going mad trying to work it out. Thanks for this video anyway, very useful for other projects.
When I do the same thing you do in the video I don't get the same result, My text does not lift upwards on an angle, it just angles it within the original shape of the text box or a bit below? What am I doing wrong?
question: I sheared my text and expanded it to tweak the design of some letters. I'm having troubles moving one letter as I don't know how to move it to be in the exact same angle of the rest of the text. If that makes sense. How do I do this?
To edit it I just go to the appearance panel and double click on appearance itself and then it lets me edit the angle again. The box appears and it lets me change the degree or angle of rise or shear that I need.
I love this idea so much. But when i do it nothing is happening! :( I click shear and no matter what angle i select it barely moves or it will adjust the letters making it more like Italic.
Lol wtf seems like you wanted to make a tutorial this day but also talk with someone, haha so funny the GMM thing i was not expecting that at all, and the fact that you just didn't know how to restore the angle, and just said, "well comment if you know how" you are really funny man.

Dude, you have no idea how it help me, thank you so much
Hi :)
I believe if you go with the text selected to:
Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform
And set the anchor point to the bottom left, you can play with the rotation angle.
The effect will be in the Appearance Panel and the text still editable
Then though I think the text is more rotated than skewed
@@pixelandbracket That's true. But you can play with the horizontal and vertical sliders.
Thanks Man For Your Help

Thanks for the tip man! To remove the shear, I think I would only cut the text (Cmd or Ctrl + X), delete the empty text block, click somewhere else and paste the text back.

Great thanks mate. maybe it distorts the text when you set it at an extreme angle though?...
Technically for a technique like this it distorts the text at every angle, but more noticeable the more you push it
Thanks man! I thought it was so easy to do, until I realized I couldn't even do it 😁
Thank you Sir
Super useful, Thanks !
Thanks for the help!
Thanks
thank you trey kennedy youre the best
That’s a new one lol
Pixel & Bracket you look so much like him i was like trey i didnt know you did graphic design
Exactly what i needed. Thx...Subscribed

AWEESOOMMME!!
Thanks! That working fine! Good stuff!
THANKSSSSSS YOU ARE MY SAVIORRRR
Have you figured this out with text on a wavy path? I've been trying this technique and it just doesn't look right, I'm going mad trying to work it out. Thanks for this video anyway, very useful for other projects.
Uhh it's in Effects --> Warp kinda like in Ps
When I do the same thing you do in the video I don't get the same result, My text does not lift upwards on an angle, it just angles it within the original shape of the text box or a bit below? What am I doing wrong?
thanks bro very useful
I like your video but is there a way to tilt kind of like italic but not using italic and not making it as tilted as italic.
thanks bro 😁
question: I sheared my text and expanded it to tweak the design of some letters. I'm having troubles moving one letter as I don't know how to move it to be in the exact same angle of the rest of the text. If that makes sense. How do I do this?
to do that I used to use.. Effect> Distort&transform> free distort..
Bump, thanks to you Comicart and Host Pixel!! :D
thank you man
Thank you, you saved my day :-)
Thank You So much
Amazing - thank you!!!! :)
thanks!
Thank 😊
TYYYY

😳...I’m going to look into this.
"double click on appearance itself" ??? Not seeing anything like that in my Appearance panel when the text is selected.
THAAAAAANKS!! :D
I love this idea so much. But when i do it nothing is happening! :( I click shear and no matter what angle i select it barely moves or it will adjust the letters making it more like Italic.
thank you i love you
wow boi. thanks a lot!
thenks men
Which software is this .... Paint,Net ?
Tnx maahn🤩
I watch GMM every morning!!
TYSM!
"This isn't a rotation. This is a...shear." #Classic
I've religiously watched GMM for the past 7 years now!
Very nice
Does anybody know how to do that in premier pro?
How is this different from rotating text?
Do both and tell me
🙏
thnx
I don't understand why they can't just have a slant text slider like they do in indesign.
God damn it, I can't believe you can do this automatically... I'm such a fuckin chump
Lol wtf seems like you wanted to make a tutorial this day but also talk with someone, haha so funny the GMM thing i was not expecting that at all, and the fact that you just didn't know how to restore the angle, and just said, "well comment if you know how" you are really funny man.
lol i always pretend like i'm talking with someone or a friend. easier to be comfortable on camera that way!
Have "Horizontal" checked. bam. not vertical.
*epic*
This is not a solution.. the text comes off the line in a weird way so that it doesn't look right.
It's easier to do it in Corel Draw
I guess ctrl + Z to undo hahaha
not working
ee
You look like someone id be friends with
Thank you!
thanks
thanks
