  • In this next adventure we check out and document a property that is on the brink of being razed. As of the date of this upload, 99% of the property has been demolished to make way for commercial businesses. Although the homes were nearly empty of their contents, it was nice to see them untouched from vandals. So come along as we take a final look at some beautiful abandoned farmhouses. Enjoy

Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

I like the second one. Older houses have so much character. Like the many rooms even if they are small, more cozy! Thanks for documenting them before they're gone.

Older farm houses have so much character, so sad they're tearing them down. The wood floors look pretty cool, better than that green carpet.

    Jay,
There was a lot of Love and caring in those homes, at least you were able to document it.
i hope the owners were able to find something equally and nice.
I grew up on a farm in a Victorian farmhouse in Jackson,N.J. with small rooms a walk up attic and a Yankrr cellar.
When we lost the farm for taxes, the house was eventually burned to the ground.
All that is left are some photographs and the memories of my youth there. 1944 to 1960
Your videos are so much more memory evoking.
    Cheers,
    Rik Spector

Those bugs really creep me out, also. I have lived in 9 different states and never seen those bugs until I was atleast 50. Love exploring these old homes with you. I'm that person that can almost place myself in that time period. My grandparents lived in a home over 300 years old. My Grandfather installed running water in the house, so he could put a tub and commode in for my Grandmother. I remember using the outhouse at 6 years old and pumping water from the well. Even though my Grandfather put in a hot water heater he never completely hooked it up. We heated water on the stove for bathes and dishes. Half of the stove was the heat for the house, by kerosene. The house is in New England and I'm only 64.

great thanks for the tour! I miss our old farm. Our last night in the house b4 we moved I felt like my soul died. I was so sad becoz we had so much family history there . But the land taxes were way too high for us anymore and we wanted to get mom and dad away from the cold and snow. I love that we moved back to the midwest tho. Is gorgeous up here in the WI northwoods.and is like a 5 hrs drive to go home to visit if we want to.

It reminds me of the house my grandpa built but it was built in town- high end and the basement had steps where you felt like you were gliding and he put in a beaver cement floor and then behind the furnace was like a bedroom with 2 twin beds a large open room to the left steps and an inside oil tank straight ahead was the furnace and boiler system to the right was a large room and part of the left side as you could walk under the steps and it the left side was a cellar and on the big room side was a shower and toilet curtained off in a half squared circle and the drain. When we moved into it in 1971 we used a wringerwasher and new dryer a year later they put in a new washer there was a dry sink with running water. It was the men’s area of teacher’s renting the room. You walked up to a doorway outside and you could turn right walk up 5 to another door to the kitchen and there’s so much more just let me know and I can call you because too tell you everything would take me 5 years to write! If not it’s okay too and it’s had a barn-carriage house.

First of all another cool shirt Mike. My grandson needs one. The one huge tank to the left was for fuel oil which is probably what the furnace used. Beside it was the water softener with the short tank where the salt goes. The other tank was something to do with the well. Really sad that it fell from a nice home to the demo crew. It must have been really nice at one time.

That's just a crying shame man. Demolishing those beautiful old homes for a strip mall.
But unfortunately when it comes down to it the money is where it's at for stuff like this. That's the same situation what that old farmhouse up here. But it's not nearly as in good of shape as these houses, and obviously at busy road is none too desirable LOL

Hi Jay, that first house was really nice and in good shape too, a shame that yet again arable land is being turned into concrete :(. Thanks for sharing, those crickets though, I would have been out of there so fast seeing some that size lol. x

The blue tank in the basement of the second house, is a water softening system.

It's sad to see these houses get torn down for ugly commercial use. Both buildings look practically brand new. With a little elbow grease, they could be fixed up, and made into great living spaces.
As for which house I would choose, I'm a sucker for an old house, so I'd take that second one, and restore it.

Great find.. Sure hope they save the hardwood floors. The Pune floors second home really clean up nicely. We had both oat and pine in our home in Memphis. They would buff up beautifully. Some of the doors are valuable as well. I need a 100-year-old 2 panel for my home Michigan City. The lows price I have found is a little under $2500. Old milled lumber can cost $100-150 a foot. Lovely homes:

That's a shame, both houses are very beautiful, and could be fixed up. They're both in really good shape. I can't believe no one would want to save them.
