I had my doubts about this video because you were showing how to program your garage door apparently nowhere near a garage, but this worked. The only clarification for me would be that in your second step when you press your garage door button, I had to press my learn button on my genie garage door opener, not the regular garage door opener button inside my garage.

Does anyone know if the VW HomeLink in the VW cabin has an internal battery. I am occassionally having problems with it not opening my garage door.

I’m pretty sure that it is powered by the car’s battery.

NO BATTERY INSIDE hard wired only . dont pry it apart like i did. had to super glue back together

What if you don’t have a remote.

I’d probably pick up a cheap remote, pair with your garage door opener and then setup your VW with the functional remote.

Strange! I’ve never encountered that before. Have you tried closing with other garage door remotes to see if the problem follows the car’s remote only?

Had to clear it with holding 1 and 3 for about 10 to 15 seconds and use the remote.Worked for me! Thanks!!!
