My brother slways said it was lazy i did/do something similar. I said, "So let your wife cut herself with a dull one." His widow still remembers having heard that said. True story. Why make up something that puny, right?
If you want to ruin your knife go for it but a cheap £20 sharpening stone from Amazon and a few UA-cam videos and can get much better results. But I do like the ingenuity
