    Hi, B4 Canon Lenses are so good like Cine Canon Lenses in a 60D or 5D Canon Dslr cameras?

    I'm sorry to butt in, but I have a question. A 70 feet distance at a 5.6 stop will give you a huge depth of field. Shouldn't we minimize the depth of field while adjusting back focus? Thank you.

      @FotodioxInc  5 років тому +2

      Yes, stopping your lens open all the way will help you fine tune focus. The reason we recommend staying at f/5.6 with the B4 Magic adapter is because the optic in the adapter adds extra softness to your image if you open the lens wider than f/5.6.

      @@FotodioxInc Sorry but this is not how it is done. I don't know who taught you this but they were making stuff up.
      You should remake this or take it down.
      You zoom in
      then use the main focus ring to make the target sharp
      then zoom out and adjust with the BF ring to make sharp then lock it in place.

    Hmmmm. The place where i work made some "cleaning", and they didn't needed it anymore, as we are working with newer systems now, so i got a Canon b4 lens simmilar to yours, but this one is a model without that sweet extender. For me it's still okay to play with, as my GH5 kinda fix it with the teleconv. I also got the adapter, but it seems like i just can't work out the back focus. Did a lot of times in my job (truth to be told, with sony cameras with the right mount), so i feel a bit funny, that this seems impossible with the gh5. You think the m4/3 sensor and/or using the teleconverter doing this, or it's just needs some more hours to find the sweet spot?

    • @FotodioxInc

      It can be tricky, and it's possible that the lens you have may have been damaged or have some loose optics that don't stay locked in or creep out of focus. These are old lenses.

      We are looking into the possibility of creating versions of the B4 Magic for other cameras and mounts. Stay tuned!

    Is it possible to get a very sharp video with a Canon 14X 8-112mm f/1.7 on a GH4 as I can get or close to a prime lens? Also I noticed that even that it's a f1.7 it sucks in low light. any insight?

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  7 років тому +1

      We don't recomend shooting under f/5.6 with the B4 Magic adapter because the built-in enlarging optic will add softness to the image. It is possible to use one of our non optic B4 adapters on your GH4 though, which would let you shoot wide open with less softness. Here's a video we made showing different options for mounting B4 lenses on the GH4: ua-cam.com/video/P2qRimxi69A/v-deo.html

    Hey,
    Would the b4 adapter work on a MFT black magic cinema camera. from what I heard the sensor is a bit larger, would the b4 still work??

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  9 років тому

      julian mojica Hi Julian, you're correct. The sensor is larger in the Blackmagic Cinema camera and you'd get some major vignetting with our B4 Magic adapter, which is made expressly for the smaller sensor in the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema and Studio cameras.

  • @postprod09

    Will this lens adapter work on the JVC LS300, which is a S35 sensor and MFT mount? I could use the b4 to MFT mount you also sell, but this adapter looks as though it has an additional element built in which probably yields a better image.
    Thanks

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  7 років тому

      Hi postprod09, our B4 Magic adapter is made expressly to fit a 2/3" B4 lens's image circle onto a Super16 size sensor. With the JVC LS300's much larger S35 sensor you'll still get a lot of vignetting--you'll see the whole image circle. You'll see in this video that you'll start to get vignetting even on an MFT sensor: ua-cam.com/video/P2qRimxi69A/v-deo.html

    Do you have a b4 adapter for GH4 or that works well on it?

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  8 років тому

      +Sandro Brito Currently not. If you used our B4 Magic adapter on a GH4, you'd have to shoot in crop mode, and even then you might get a bit of vignetting.
