  • The Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program discusses wellness and bipolar disorder. Our team of researchers, clinicians, and lived experience experts explore what wellness means when living with bipolar disorder, how individual lived experiences shape wellness, and how research plays a role in establishing wellness. Dr. Sperry, a researcher in the Prechter Program and Clinical Psychologist in the Bipolar Clinic at Michigan Medicine, speaks about the importance of measuring well-being as an outcome in clinical care and research studies. She covers current research that highlights the need to re-define well-being, or, what it means to be living well with bipolar disorder. Dr. Sperry ends her presentation by introducing an important new initiative of the Prechter Program, the development of new tools to measure well-being, incorporating the perspective and voices of those with lived experience.

Excellent presentation. Love that you had participants living with bipolar wellness! I am educating myself based on a loved one's recent diagnosis and this provided much HOPE!

Glad to see a discussion on this that acknowledges the support needed. I wish they had a couples therapy that specialized in this disorder as well so both would be given advice that would help during the difficult times.
