It was probably referred to by locals as "Narrow Street" but it would appear to be "Narrow Bridge Street" in official documents. I have an 1861 Peterborough Advertiser that refers to "Narrow Bridge Street".

Wasn’t it known as Narrow Street until the buildings were demolished and then it became upper and lower bridge street afterwards?
