- Specs battle between 2 budget sport bike under $6.000.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 vs 2022 KTM RC390.
With Stronger motor, comfortable riding position, and proven reliability, Ninja 400 seems to be a better choice for those want a commuter sport bike that good and comfy enough to go through daily city traffic and also capable of cruising highway. You need to spent some money on it though if you want to make it to be a competent track bike.
For those who goes to track often and really serious about racing, RC390 is a great bike to start with. It's "ready to race" in its stock form, has excellent chassis, strong brakes, adjustable suspension, and rider aids that is better than Ninja.

Put the 400 Kawasaki engine in the KTM frame and you have an unbeatable bike
Great Idea...

@@KapilDesaiKD3 and still fcking 1 cylinder . stupid can exhaust sound
Back in the day, you could take an Aprilia RS125, swap out the rear end for a RS250 and put in a 350cc Rotax 2 stroke motor that they used to use in side cars. I had the chassis components and the bike - just never found an engine. Too many desperate sidecar racers spoiling my fun. Would have been the perfect bike.
Poda punda
I live in india and here in india i got rc390 at $4675 (which is $500 expensive than older model). I'm fully satisfied with this bike just loving it 🥰
Thank you for making this video! It's exactly what I need!
El video más hermoso para nosotros los bikers que comenzamos en las medianas cilindradas. Super completo Gracias!!!🙂
So professional for a versus video. Thanks.
RC 390 is a Perfect track weapon for beginner and professionals.
Ninja 400 is a Good track bike that can be a commuter bike too.
How about commuting on RC390?
@@LL2500 Good for short distance but if you plan to ride it long way it's gonna be harder
@@LL2500 aweful!!! ninja beats it on track as well
@@awesomed007 nope
@@teteakhiangte6015 its linear power outguns the rc390 everywhere and not dependent on gear change in the corners. The engine of ninja is simply superior which makes up for the lack of aggressive riding suspension. Dave Moss says its an extremely competent bike. For track use, he changes the front fork oil to a different grade and ninja is good to go.
over the past year I've been looking at getting a beginner bike for myself and it came down to these 2. I ended up going with the KTM just due to the handling and looks. The power is close enough where it doesn't matter to me.
Hey bro, how is it so far? I'm trying to decide between these two too. Is the handling on the KTM so much better? Also what about reliability, I've heard that the new models are less likely to heat up and have engine/electronic issues.
@@lehel7184 Do you know the answer too? Im stuck here haha
I rode a KTM 390 all day today for the first time. They are a blast. Coming from someone who owned a CBR 1000
amazing quality of the video keep up the good work
Excellent comparison! Thanks
the comparison display is beyond measure. hats off.
Really appreciate your work. Pls do a comparison of Ducati V4S and V4R
Nice vídeo men keep it up
Nice work bro 🔥 professional
Nice explanation wow....I loved it
Excelente trabajo, felicitaciones 🏍
the best review!
Nice video! Can you please do a Suzuki SV650 / Yamaha MT-07 comparison?Would love to see one!Looking forward to it! Keep up these great contents!
Could you make a comparision between Honda CB650r vs Yamaha MT-07?
I owned the previous version of the RC390 and i was up for the new one providing KTM once announced a // twin motor and unfortunately it's still a mono cylinder... From there i got a Z400 and do really enjoy it.
But why ? RC 390 an A2 license bike so it's limited to 45 hp anyway. Plus Moto3 bikes are also single cylinder and still are a blast to watch and ride.
@@Statek63 Because KTM reliability is as fickle as a woman on her period.
Please make Z400 vs KTM Duke 390.
The ktm chassis looks a bit stronger I also like the steel brake lines adds a nice touch.
Great format and well thought out review. I’d like to see a video comparing the MT07 vs Honda Hornet vs GSX 8S vs KTM 800 Duke .
Can you make video Z300 vs Yamaha R3? 😬
Please do make comparison of the rc 200 series and also make another comparison ug rc 200 r15 cbr150 pulsar 200 and gsxr 150r
Can you compare Ninja400 with 450sr??
In 400 segment, these many electronics are very rare. That's why RC 390 is best for beginners. Only drawback is single cylinder.
It is not a drawback.
Rc is worst for beginners
@@gokulsajeev4382 There is no better beginner track bike than the RC390 IMO.
how would they compete against the cf moto 450sr
Ninja 400 clearly better
You are Still comparing with 373 cc single cylinder bike - see The Power of rc one and only single cylinder king and competition with twin cylinders
In India ktm is way cheaper than kawasaki because of the partnership with bajaj (stakeholder).
Its getting there tho ain't it?
Please make a s1000xr vs multistrada v4
z400 2022 vs mt03 2022 ❤️thanks ad
I owned a cbr1000 a while back. Rode a ktm rc 390 all day for the first time today and i can honstly say. The bike is hella fun to ride. Comfortable, quick til 5th-6th gear tops out around 115mph. Very fun and attractive bike.. Sounds like a dirt bike tho. Lmao
I would go with the RC390 any day just for the suspension.
A dino test!! Wow 🎉 390s are all over the track but maybe the ninja is the way to go.
Wow, What program did you use to make this presentation?
almost same horsepower but sadly single piston which is a bummer. top speed vibration must be crazy
I've seen online that the ktm weighs 155kg in some places 158kg and I've even seen 172kg. How much does it actually weigh?
It's 155kg without fuel, so with the deposit full it should be around 168kg (13.7l)
The fact that the 400 in 90s made 55hp and sometimes 66hp like the fzr 3tj and were they had fewer wight and were 4cyl not 2 and 1cyl even the 250 in 90s made 45hp with 4cyl...old is gold
Welcome to the nanny state. Now due to emission laws and politicians we can't have decent bikes. Oh my God you are a learner, better restrict you to 10 horsepower or you might pop a wheelie and die.
Zx25r is waving at you

The price is a little off just comparing like this. Got in CA a Out of the door price of 8500+ for the N400 and 7500 for the RC. I'm going with KTM!
In India Ninja 400 is 5,14,000 rupees (USD 6,211) and Rc390 is 3,56,000 rupees (USD 4,302)
In India Ninja 400 is 5,14,000 rupees (USD 6,211) and Rc390 is 3,56,000 rupees (USD 4,302)
I have a ninja 400, but after trying the RC 390, I prefer the RC 390. They are both amazing bikes.
Yamaha R1M vs ninja h2r video make bro
The H2R will smoke the R1M, now, if the R1 has some staging done to it and a full exhaust it might keep up with H2R.
@@TEX-704 this is stupid..r1m is a trackbike. Lighter and more flickable, has a faster acceleration. Both have their own forte. The h2r is for high speed , heavier for the track which means its hard to flick. Also the h2r isn't street legal
@@kuroneko-_5570 my bad, didn’t realize you were talking track, then yes the Yamaha. But, since you DIDN’T bother to mention track, the H2R will still smoke the R1M. We all are not mind readers. 😂

@second gear . Nice comparison But in india Rc390 was way cheaper than ninja 400 around a lakh rupee($1300).
I've got Bs3 slipper clutch from 2016 and im going to upgrade to the new version i was skeptical before but now im sure that i ll choose ktm over kawasaki any given day as i will choose a RSV4 or Ducati V4 or R1 or s1000rr or gsxr or SP R RR over a zx10r any day
In India Ninja 400 is 5,14,000 rupees (USD 6,211) and Rc390 is 3,56,000 rupees (USD 4,302)
some information about the ninja is either incorrect or old information. Same goes for KTM. maybe its due to geography the features are different.
video sensacional...
Where is the RC-400 Twin.........Kawi is out of date for the money and not Japanese built either so should be much cheaper than KTM.
For anyone in the UK watching this on the 30/01/2023, The KTM is £600 cheaper then the ninja. Also for any youtube certified mechanics, the KTM having a single cylinder is easier to work on than the Kawasaki inline twin. Sound wise, honestly you can forget about any growl form the KTM due to the single engine. Any exhaust you fit will still make it sound like a louder 125cc (sorry yall)
400 has parallel twin not inline twin
Ktm rc390 is 300 cc category bike not 400....they will launch dual cylinder 490 series next year
can't compare the brands japan engine vs bajaj shit quality engine for me kawasexy

Being honest the best bike under 6k is still an aprillia rs250 2 stroke engine. Blow all of these out the water.
is it available to buy from showroom?
@@teteakhiangte6015 no they stopped making two stroke engines in 2011 across all brands due to emissions. But they will go up in value so it's better to buy a two stroke if you can find a decent one.
Umm🤔 if only KTM would make a smallish displacement twin, say like 450-500cc combined with it’s higher tech, better chassis and breaks. Then the ninja wouldn’t be able to touch it. Oh wait, they are making a smallish twin!
They are bringing in Rc490 with a parallel twin. So hopefully we can see a lot of changes.
rumor though ninja making zx4r soooo.
@@adrianlapaz5505 That would be awesome! I did hear something about that too. Love those X4 revving little beasts!
Que bueno fuera que las trajeran a ese precio a mi país ni por cerca aquí cuesta 9mil dolares la ninja 400 la otra ha estar unos 8 mil lastima el pecio que llegan a latino América
Boils down to reliability for me. Kawasaki wins hands down
it would be cool if the rc390 was less than $6k
11.5 vs. 12.6 doesn't sound like much, but that is 95 octane vs. 110 octane fuel.... kawi wins in my book just for the sheer ability to get away with american primium Gas, but if you dont mind getting race fuel, KTM is the way to go.
Anyday Ninja 400 as it's my Dream bike😂(More power+looks)
And here in India KTM costs about 320000 and Ninja 400 BS4 used to cost about 611000 in 2020...don't know how much it will cost in 2022 now
How with 450SR?
ktm is considered premium bike in other countries.... its a bargain in india and better buy, or go for apache 310
ninja 300 was excellent priced during covid, looks better from a designers point of view
400 ninja sounds is super ❤
Really like RC 390 but have to avoid single cylinder
yeah, lawnmower engine refinement
@@awesomed007 Tell that to Moto3 world cup riders ;-)
@@Statek63 not necessary, its made here in India, very quick but engine overheats, unrefined, vibrations when compared to Ninja, japanese classic reliabilty. Moto 3 riders ride it as a disposable tool. hope u understand the difference smart Alec!!!

5 dollars each. nice
Here in india the ninja 400 cost like 8.2 grand which is kinda expensive for a 400
In India Ninja 400 is 5,14,000 rupees (USD 6,211) and Rc390 is 3,56,000 rupees (USD 4,302)
ninja 400 no cap
Still missed my old Ninja 400.
💔
KTM all the way. Ninja is a ninja add a cat delete air box and tune and it’s a total different bike they can push 60hp set up for racing the track
in india RC390 is 4300USD while ninja 400 is 7050USD
which is stupid difference and why i never see ninja 400 here
no bad for a single cylinder
In india ninja is priced 1.7 times the ktm....that ninja can't beat...
Kawasaki ninja 400 best Race KTM RC 390 Vs Kawasaki ninja 400 top speed
At maximum speed it is bad, because the rc 390 reaches 193 km/h
Not same segment class.
KTM is quite tall (32.5 inches) for a small cc bike. That will turn off a lot of beginners as they do not feel comfortable.
In India , everything opposite 🥲, Ninja 400 is twice the price of RC 390 😮💨😐
RC 390 2022 is ₹3.15 lakh and Ninja 400 is ₹5.5 lakh 🤧🤧 in India 🇮🇳
And Ninja though has more speed but it has not better handling than RC 390, so 390 is safer 🙂, because of its better handling, 390 can use its 100% performance all time but Ninja 400 will be slightly slower in race 🏁 track because it will hardly give 90 to 95% performance mostly due to slightly bad handling 🙃
Cuz its manufactered by cheap low quality bajaj
@@thedoctor5686 😒Ninja gives outdated and low quality body🙄, and KTM gives best hardware, best chassis, best brake and best suspension 😒
Price is twice because kawasaki ninja 300, 400 These bikes are imported from Japan 😒 and Government takes tax 🙄 around 100% of the bike's Price 😑😑
And Kawasaki isn't launching their small bikes here 🙄 😒 if it happens then Ninjas will be around 20k to 40k cheaper than KTM 390, because they are not actually that much premium 😐 like KTM...
@@racer_v4r here m talkin abt reliability no matter whateva the features are. I myself is a ktm owner. And its not tat reliable compared to japanese. As far as i have experienced so far owning tat.
Because its manufactered by our indian low quality brand.
@@thedoctor5686 Japanese bikes are good in 1000cc and 650cc segment, not in 300cc 😐, as Kawasaki has very few showroom and service centre here.. so I can't call them reliable because if any problem happens, I'll have to wait for months to get the part imported 🙄, not a good option as 1st bike 😐
@@racer_v4r And also now ninja 300 is locally assembled it doesn't come directly from japan now. Thats the reason y price dropped. Before it was even more costly than r3.
parallel twin vs single cylinder...not a hard choice to make hahahaha
Kawasaki top
Ninja 400is best
Kawasaki is better
The RC looks so ugly that if i got it for free I would sell it immediately and save up for the Ninja 400.
390
This is stupidity comparing single cylinder with a twin cylinder both are from different planets bro
N400 has weak chassis and a bad design. The engine is the stress member. This is the reason why you see a lot of common leaking issues like oil and coolant in the cylinder area.
The specs on the Ninja 400 is underwhelming. Nice try Kawasaki, but no thanks.
@No_Name blind Kawasaki fanboy
@No_Name then what's the difference of having twin cylinder when it's sounds same like single cylinder ktm and having 8kmph more speed even after having a twin cylinder
Clearly you can see that ktm has more advanced features
@No_Name will you say same for the Ducati panigale V2?
I can say that less cyclinder can effect the reliability but it has nothing to do with vibration
Even ninja 300 has vibration in top end
And it doesn't sound the same we'll see this video again 🙄
@No_Name you aren't too sharp i guess
I thought you have some brain to understand what I said but still you acted like a child like you always do in other comments box
@No_Name Clearly you never owned a Ducati so you don't know.
